  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A real estate attorney in Redwood City, CA made the apparently-scandalous request for a MAGA 2020 mural on the same street that hosted the city-sanctioned BLM mural. Instead of acquiescing, administration hastily scrubbed the original mural. Tim and Adam discuss the implications of the story for the countless cities now that have BLM murals.

I doubt the number is "countless."

If so, you should be able to give us fifteen or twenty such cities easily.

That is a copy and paste description per CF rules concerning a video. I did not write that.

I was surprised, but From New York to L.A., Cities Across the Country Show Support for the Black Lives Matter Movement with Street Murals lists 18 cities with "Black Lives Matter" street murals, in addition to the original DC. This article lists Brooklyn, Albany, Rochester (NY), Niagara Falls, Charlotte, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Topeka, Denver, Berkeley, Oakland, Hollywood, Sacramento, San Francisco, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Dallas, and Montpelier, with pictures or links to pictures.

On the one hand, BLM has a point when they say that such gestures are no substitute for actual policy changes,

On the other hand, it sends a message to Donald in no uncertain terms... while I cannot advise trying to out-petty Donald (he will always win such a contest), still...

Thoughts?

If the streets are now a public forum I want to put some religious writings on it.

Because it does the same thing to millions of "White" as well... not to mention Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, etc...

Whether you think of it as a legal right or a murderous atrocity, one thing is certain, it does not discriminate.

And seeing how racial discrimination is the underlying theme of this thread, try not to stray too far off topic... it's quite distracting to the people who care about discrimination.

The message of BLM isn't about racial discrimination its a power move. It's not about equality and so far from what I've seen it's hate and I stand against it.

This is probably how it had to go, given free speech principles. I'd have to consult a lawyer to pin down the details of what kinds of speech a government is allowed to endorse and refuse to endorse, but I suspect that allowing "Black lives matter" to be painted on the street opens the door to having opposing opinions also painted on the street, and nobody wants to see that ugly battle play out. :(

Why yours, particularly?

Because the streets are now a public forum. Someone else can put their own messages on it. I just want mine.

Trump’s repeated treating of liberal non-Whites as being non-Americans who don’t belong here undermines any economic benefits you think he might have throw their way.

Are you talking about those here illegally?

No. The description you quoted accurately describes the way Trump pushed the Obama Birther conspiracy (Obama was born in Hawaii) and the way he attacked the members of The Squad when he told them to go back to their home countries (three were born in the US/PR, one is a naturalized citizen who came to the US as a refugee when she was a child).

Interesting idea. Assuming the streets have become a public political forum, what political statement would you be making?

Repent and believe the gospel.
Sounds good to me.

Are we going to let Muslims, Buddhists and Satanists in on the fun too or is Christianity the only acceptable religion?
