No offense but this seems like more propaganda in the opposite direction. I mean there is probably some truth to some of it but makes speculations that can’t be determined. It’s like anti propaganda propaganda if that makes any sense. Lol

I answered this question, they didn’t want to do what it takes to accomplish the task.
Why is that the color of their skin is related to a personality trait such as lack of motivation? Is it in their DNA?

I never understood that sentiment once you could actually view a movements' leader speak, and actually see their followers carrying it out. When you actually listen to and watch a leader state 'we will do (X)' and their followers do (X), pointing it out is not propaganda. Propaganda is what is deployed to justify, excuse or embolden (X).

Something doesn't feel right about BLM

Its been 155 years since the end of the Civil War and contrary to popular opinion the gap between 'BLACK" Americans and their "WHITE" counterparts is actually increasing!

If the "BLACK" community could have attained their objectives using less confrontational means, politically correct approaches, there would be need for BLM!
**************************************************************************************************************
- The black-white wealth gap has not recovered from the Great Recession. In 2007, immediately before the Great Recession, the median wealth of blacks was nearly 14 percent that of whites. Although black wealth increased at a faster rate than white wealth in 2016, blacks still owned less than 10 percent of whites’ wealth at the median.

- African Americans face systematic challenges in narrowing the wealth gap with whites. The wealth gap persists regardless of households’ education, marital status, age, or income. For instance, the median wealth for black households with a college degree equaled about 70 percent of the median wealth for white households without a college degree. The gap worsens as households grow older. In 2016, blacks between 50 and 65 years old and near retirement had only about 10 percent of the wealth of whites in the same age group. This is down from the approximately 24-percent gap in 1998, when the same groups of people were between 32 and 47 years old.

A simple calculation puts the persistent and policy-driven black-white wealth gap into perspective. Consider that the racial wealth gap—measured as the ratio of median black wealth to median white wealth—slightly narrowed from 2013 to 2016. (see Table 1) If this pattern continued over time and with no major policy changes, it would take more than 20 years just to return to the racial wealth gap that existed in 1998. Moreover, it would take more than 200 years for median black wealth to equal median white wealth. Leaving wealth inequality to market forces would likely create a massive gulf in economic opportunity and security by race. That said, shrinking the black-white wealth gap in a meaningful way will undoubtedly require large, targeted policy interventions.

Well I still fail to see the relevance of this to the discussion and being an expert in this area I can say from personal experience that I’ve never been caught by a police officer with marijuana in my possession and didn’t get arrested. I got caught 3 times and I was arrested 3 times.

Can't resist anecdotal data, can ya? LOL.

Yes I cut the quote, guilty there, but even with the whole quote the meaning is the same.
They do not want husband He. Wife to bring up there children in a family.
English your second language? I grew up in a small town —- WHITE—— and it was the norm for family and neighbors to help out. Being poor and working class WHITE people, it was necessary. You might call us “poor White trash”, but folks do what they gotta do.

Who said the color of their skin is related to their lack of motivation? In a statistic like this, one race will undoubtedly have to be the lowest number, it’s inevitable. So for example if it was the Latinos then would it be because of racism that the Latinos are the lowest number of college graduates? What if it were the Asians, would it be because everyone is racist against Asians? In this particular case it just happens to be the blacks. I doubt it is in their DNA.

Which is why anyone can join the military and receive college funds. So that’s not an excuse.
Well, no, not just anyone can join the military. There’s a pretty strict vetting process they put you through at a place called MEPS, and you can be disqualified for any number of reasons beyond your control. Plus, that’s a horrible argument for racial equity. Now you’re just arguing that black people have to subject themselves to years of hard labor and even deadly combat just to have the same opportunities as everyone else.

Im not saying all of it is untrue it just seems like an extreme opposite of what BLM is doing. Taking bits & pieces out of context and painting a grim picture without revealing the full story. I would’ve rather they took more time on the video to better address each situation to get the full picture of what actually took place instead of small bits & pieces.

Well, there are theses places where people shoot at you. The government leaders need to have someone else’s kids to throw in front of the enemy, right?

My first hand experiences may be anecdotal to you but they are undoubtedly conclusive to me. So if you prefer to write them off as lies that fine I don’t need your approval to base my own conclusions on what I have experienced first hand.

They have the same options as everyone else and they’re not the only ones who have to submit themselves to military service if they can’t afford to go to college. Why is it ok if EVERY OTHER RACE may have to resort to military service in order to afford to go to college but not blacks? What do you suggest, a free college handout to blacks because their black? NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS FREE. There’s no handouts. If you want something you gotta be willing to put in the effort to get it and if your not willing to do that then don’t blame somebody else for your own lack of motivation or willingness. Nobody owes anyone anything.

Over what time range? Since 2007 it has decreased. Since 2001 it has stayed flat.

Why should the differences by race necessarily be so distinct? Shouldn’t there be no difference if all other things are equal?

BLM is a militant group that has nothing at all to do with racial inequality. If they were an advocacy group fighting in the courts I would get it. If they marched (actually peacefully) like MLK I would have their back. All they are doing is fomenting violence and attempting a Marxist revolution.

Because if people are getting paid to protest. That is wrong, and should be illegal.

People are being paid to not work and stay at home by a Republican President, that should be illegal. It is funny that the Trump Supporter down the street from me who does not work gets in a week what it takes me two weeks to EARN by WORKING. Talk about buying votes.

I think some are saying is that all things are not equal, that is what they refer to as racism. Obviously slavery wasn't equal and that was based on black versus white. It seems remarkable that after 150 years the difference would be so pronounced, but again that is the claim that is being made that although "slavery" ended, the racism didn't. It was Jim Crowe, it was KKK, it was a little more subtle. After the court ruling about separate but equal we might have moved towards a more equitable public school system but it still took a few more decades to help level the playing field with college admissions. Black males have gone to prison at a far higher rate than any other group, which obviously has a disastrous impact on the community. So even if all those who were convicted of the crime actually did the crime, which we know is not true, still it is clear that many of the things that were criminalized like drugs were being done by white's only when they got caught they went to rehab. Maybe it was better lawyers, maybe it was a community attitude towards the young that the blacks never had.

But whether we are talking about Jim Crowe, Separate but Equal, or the Prison Pipeline it is very clear that all things are not equal.
