So the disagreement really concerns which egotist was the most obvious about it.

I know what you have been saying. The posts are right here in front of me. What I was saying is that, on the evidence, it's a close call as to which man is the more egotistical, etc. if we want to be fair about the matter.

I wish you would be fair about it, yet that’s the last thing you seem to be concerned with.

You weren't here for the Obama administration?????

If you would like to start a thread on the number of screeching Twitter tirades Obama went on whenever he didn't get the amount of praise he felt he was entitled to, go ahead and send us the link.

Meanwhile, this thread is about Donald's failure (only in regards to COVID-19; so as not to confuse it with his numerous other personal and presidential shortcomings)

WHO offered tests, we declined them. We created and sent out tests that didn't work. If I recall correctly, they were contaminated with covid19. Then when they didn't work and local hospitals started coming up with their own tests, they were told they couldn't use them. .

I'm ok with this not being Trumps fault. What I want to know from you is who made these decisions and to whom do they report so we can address the correct person.

We still don't have national stay at home orders. I thank God that, when it comes to public health, Ohio is being ran by a sane republican, even though I didn't vote for him

The WHO did not offer us tests. Another left wing lie. If anyone is to blame it's China. Other than that no one is at fault. When you look at the TRUTH of what happened, the entire world was really unprepared for this. We didn't have any solid information until February. The WHO didn't say anything about an emergency until Jan 31. We started working in this before that.

We were not sure exactly what was happening with this disease.

We don't NEED a national stay at home order. That's up to the states. Governors are in charge of their state. They should know if they need one or not. Trump and his team create recommendations, they don't control every aspect of our lives nor should they. Each state should take a look at what is needed in their particular state and do what's needed. We need to quit looking at the federal government to take care of everything. States should be caring for their people with the feds as backup.

I'm glad your governor issued the order. Ours did too.

By the way, we now have access to information on how many tests have been done worldwide, and which country has done the most.

At the moment, the USA is leading the way in sheer volume of tests. 1,500,000 or so. That sounds impressive, and I'm sure you'll hear plenty of bragging about it in the coming days.

...but what you likely won't hear is how so many more nations have tested a higher percentage of their populations, many of which had far less time to do so. Norway, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, are all soundly ahead of the USA. Even Canada's almost twice as more.

We're around #50. For one of, if not the, wealthiest, most advanced countries on the planet, that's ridiculous.

We'll get there. If we wouldn't have had the failed test we may have been where they are at this time.

But testing doesn't stop the disease. It may help us know who has itz but it won't save us. What really matters in stopping it is staying home and distancing etc. Getting a vaccine or finding medicine that helps those that have it will save us.

I apologize, you may be correct about the WHO tests. The rest still stands.

I didnt vote for Trump. I thought him incompetent, and still do. However he is who we have to work with and he alone has the sole power to nationalize a response and he is either unable or unwilling to do this.

It's red states full of his supporters who are not putting in place protections for their people who will end up hit the hardest. I don't want to see their deaths either. It's Churches, other Christians who are failing to abide, or given exemptions so they can be continue to gather and infect themselves and others when they return to work or go shopping or visit their elders because FREEDOM.

Christians are called to love one another and we have folks who want to spread disease to others instead.

I've made comments in responses to others, but personally I'm not interested in blame at this point. There will be time enough for that after the dying stops where we can assess what went right and what went wrong. What I want right NOW is ACTION to prevent further deaths and protect my fellow Americans, regardless of their political leanings. I'm not seeing action.

It's worth the watch. It's just her A block, not the entire show. If you want to skip any part, I'd skip the first half. She always gives history and background before she brings her points home.
I’m going to pass.
I’m sure she did a fine job.

Apparently you weren’t.

We never had a problem this bad get this far out of hand in this short of time and have the President continue to stroke his ego as the bodies pile up behind him. Trump is in a class of egotistic denial all his own now, matched only by the level of denial of his most ardent supporters.

Even if you take into account the failed tests, we're still far behind even countries that have had less time.

But testing doesn't stop the disease.
It kind of does. The more people we have tested, the easier it is to stop the spread. Not perfect, mind you, no one is saying that, other things come into play - but it's obviously easier to keep this contained if we have a good idea of who does and doesn't have it, and who they might or might not have spread it to. That's a big part of things.

The fact that this virus outbreak is being politicized, says it all. When the hatred of Trump overshadows everything else, even at the cost of lives, it demonstrates the harsh reality of TDS. You people are truly sick.
“You people”

“TDS”

“Hatred of Trump”

Nice to see you rise above politicizing this crisis.

Donald resents and rejects anyone smarter than himself, and he keeps people under control through fear of reprisals. Therefore, his supporters cannot admit to an error when Donald himself has not.

As of midnight GMT the US had done 1,607,387 tests - the highest number for a single country.

However, in terms of tests per million of population, the US ranks fortieth in the world with 4,856 tests per million.

I totally disagree. I read an article that said Christians are more likely to obey the social distancing than non-chriatians. Here's an article that talks about what various churches are doing. Our church is obeying the order and having on line services.

Inside the outbreak: Church in a pandemic - WORLD

There are about 5 states that don't have orders yet. Most of them have large rural areas that probably don't need the order. The cities and counties can issue them as well.

Don't get all hung up on "Christians" being the problem. There are an awful lot of people ignoring the orders all across the US. I'd say the vast vast majority of churches are probably following the orders or at least creating services were there are fewer than 10 people there and social distancing.

Well we knew it was in New York. And that didn't take a lot of testing. Now look what's happening. Testing sure wouldn't have stopped that.

LOL! A Christian magazine claims that Christians are following the rules better than others. Could you find a worse source?

Different environment. The subways were probably strong "instruments of death" in New York City. Countless people standing shoulder to shoulder in an enclosed space is begging for a disaster when it comes to new diseases.

It's not about knowing where it is, it's about knowing who has it?

Seriously - are you trying to argue that having a better idea of who does and doesn't have the disease wouldn't make it easier to control it? Because that's a silly argument.

There is a whole thread on here several pages long, including a few CF members who say it's unconstitutional and unreasonable for the government to ask people to stop church services until this is under control. Are they the only group? No. Young folks think they are invincible and several others want to just be defiant or don't take it seriously and won't until everyone around them is dropping like flies.

I expect Christians to have wisdom and choose better, so it bothers me when I see the body of Christ behaving recklessly. The bible supports quarantine and isolation for infectious diseases.
