I don't. I simply understand why Catholics do, and it has nothing to do with the nonsense you keep repeating.

I've already told you where it is inferred. 1 & 2 Kings tells us that the mother of the king is the queen. Luke's Gospel tells us that Mary is the mother of Jesus, who is the King of Kings.

What title does the wife of a king have - chief concubine?

Nevertheless, don't Orthodox pray to Mary? At one time I thought you didn't, but then an Orthodox told me they did, so I'm confused. Do you or don't you?

The kings often had more than one wife, but there was only one queen, the one who had borne the king.

We ask everyone to pray for us. You do understand that "pray" means "ask, petition"?

So Jezebel wasn't a Queen then, even though she was married to the king?

1 Timothy 2:
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 7 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

Jesus is our mediator. I doubt Mary can hear you, nor your grandmother.

The Law is quite clear concerning the marital rights of the first woman married to a man, as well as their progeny. There is no doubt that, apart from legal divorce, the woman that a king married first was the queen. Some kings were borne to concubines of kings. Does that make their mother a queen and not a concubine?

When Israel divided into two nations of Judah and Israel following the death of Solomon who was the "Queen"?

Do you have statues of her, or any for that matter?

The Orthodox are more spiritual than the Catholic and do not (normally) have statues (there are exceptions, of course) but icons which are paintings.

Oops, we have a bit of a blip here, considering that Ahab's mom was no great shakes herself.

This was the case with the pagans, not with the Jews.

We have icons of Jesus and all the Saints. The icons are theology in color.

Aren't icons, pictures? Do you pray to the pictures of Mary? Forgive me if I sound ignorant. I know more about Catholics than Orthodox

She is queen by nature of her relationship to her son who is now king. While the father is still alive and on the throne, her son is not king so she is not yet queen.

You tell me.

I'm afraid that most of what you think you know about Catholics is fiction anyway. You have yet to acknowledge that most of what you have been posting is nonsense.

Why can't Queen Elizabeth still reign, and her son or grandson be crowned now?
Is she queen of the Jews? If not, what on earth has that got to do with the topic?

The Orthodox Church has 2000 years of experience. We have no doubt that Mary and all the Saints can hear us and pray to God for us. The miracles that have occurred through their intercessions are innumerable.
