Is Satan Lawless or a Legalist?

When Adam fell he was momentarily transformed into Satan's image.

From then on... Only those redeemed are restored to the image of God.

The reason it says "your seed" is because when man fell, man took on the nature of Satan and fallen angels. "Like father, like son."

Many are under the impression that Satan has horns and red skin... waving a pitchfork in a menacing way. Yet, Satan had the most appealing personality. After all, Satan drew one third of the angels over to his side in preference to the Lord.

He has a very "pleasing" personality. That is why we need to gain knowledge of the Word for our protection. For, in Matthew 4 - when Satan appeared to Jesus - Satan suggested that Jesus take back up his powers of Deity and change the stones into bread. Keep in mind.. Jesus was starving. The Greek text indicates that Satan spoke to Jesus in a manner of a concerned friend. We don't get that in the English.

Too many of us yet have a wrong impression of Satan. He has a very appealing personality to mere human beings. Unsaved man had fallen into his image. His ugly side pops out when someone with truth is presented in resistance, when his powers to persuade have been squelched. Then his famous nasty side makes itself known.

Lucifer got his when he fell which was before Adam fell.

And you are right of course - Lucifer was at one time among the highest if not the highest created being -- angel in creation. Of course since his fall he has come down a notch or two but is still pretty formidable and can still out-shine out-brightness pretty much anything that human beings can stand to see if he were given the chance to demonstrate that point. For sure he can present himself in a form very pleasing to the eye if he chooses.

Adam and Eve ate and fell...Fear over took them. They had died spiritually because of eating the forbidden fruit. They did not die physically until hundreds of years later. The Lord said that in the day they ate they would surely die. They did. Spiritual death.

The Lord shed the blood of animals to supply Adam and Eve with animal skins. A blood sacrifice was made on their behalf. For, Lord knew that in their hearts they had quickly repented, admitting they did wrong.

Their state of being unredeemed was rather short. Momentarily in the image of Satan until redeemed.

The Lord would have not offered a sacrifice unless they had repented. God reads minds. God reads hearts.

Though, I did point to Scripture you should be well acquainted with as found in the fall of Adam.

according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now
works in the sons of disobedience." Eph 2:2-3​

That spirit of disobedience was in Adam when he ate. Adam was in the image of Satan for a short moment. He became a son of Satan in following the prince of the power of the air into disobedience. Adam took the path of Satan into defiance and disobedience. While he did? He was being a child of Satan... reflecting the image of all fallen angels towards God.

It was short lived. For once Adam saw the consequence of his disobedience he turned back to God in his heart. The Lord whom supplied him with animal skins to cover himself and the woman with....

And? Those animal skins the Lord needed to shed blood. Blood to provide as a covering for Adam's sin. Only a covering. Not the final solution - which would come with the Cross.

You still think Satan would be repulsive to men if able to materialize? Only those sticking to the Word are sons of God... It says those who are led of the Spirit are called sons of God. Rebellious, pseudo intellectual, Christians .. though they be saved.. are walking as sons of the devil in what they manifest from their being.


Those who walk in their flesh are representatives of Satanic thinking. Physically mankind is found in all sorts of conditions. Conditions of repair and health in some cases... conditions of decay in others.

Angels are also called sons of God. They too, were created in the image of God! Where does leave your theory?

On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone—
while the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Job 38:6-7​

Its blasphemy to now say Satan is a son of God! Yet angels were created in His image, just like man was also created in God's image.

Being created in God's image means having self consciousness. The ability to reason.. and having volition. It does not mean having immutable perfection like God has.

Can animals reason with God? Their souls were not created in the image of God. Man alone was created in God's image in Genesis 1. Its one reason God could proclaim animal meat for food.
