DO not , no, do not interpret that. Simply believe His Word, as He Reveals this.
His Word is TRUTH and He does not permit 'private' interpretatoin, but HE GLADLY AND GENEROUSLY , FREELY,
tells us to ask for (HIS) Wisdom , which He will give to us , which He has given freely, extravagantly generously (since not one of us deserves even to be saved!)
as long as we are not , as He Says , double-minded. (the double-minded should not expect anything from God... ) as written.
So it means what it says. We are not born of our own will, but of God. Period.

Why does freedom equal arbitrary? I can have lots of influences on my decision but still make a free choice.
Why does freedom equal arbitrary?

If your choices are not based on reason what else is it other than being arbitrary?

I can have lots of influences on my decision but still make a free choice.

In spite of the influences, are you saying you still make a choice which is independent of reason?

Do you mean to say you can make choices free of external influences in an arbitrary manner but God can't?

Did you arbitrarily choose to ask God to begin your faith or He began it by His arbitrary will? Are you evading this question?

Within our timeframe, perhaps.
Since God is not constrained by time,
and since He provided Everything Needed for us for all time, Before He Created Anything,
He Knew Perfectly our every thought throughout our lives and in our hearts and minds...

As Jesus told the disciples "you did not choose Me, I chose you" is truth, without
changing that He also says "Choose TODAY who you will serve" giving men the choice to make themselves freely of their own choice....

REJOICING IN HIM DAILY ! RELYING ON THE FATHER FOR ALL THINGS ALWAYS !

So do you mean to say God is contradicting Himself by saying "you didn't choose Me" & "you chose Me"?

Can A = non-A?

Each must be true, and is, as God Says so.

He will not make someone , He will not coerce the free will in a person's choice, even Jesus just simply let His disciples walk away, when they chose to, and today few choose to stay with Jesus, just like then.

If as you suppose, A equals non-A, is both your proposition and the opposing proposition true? Are you thus rendering your propositions & thoughts meaningless?

Yahweh is True.
ALL of His Word is TRUTH.

Since He is not subject to you , to man, to the flesh.... this post is pointless>

Who says any choice is independent of reasons? That doesn't make the choice compulsory. Yes sometimes choices are made in totally random, but in most cases we weigh the options and pick one. That makes it neither arbitrary or predetermined.

If God has exhaustive foreknowledge of all that happens and will happen in our life, do we have freewill?

(2 Corinthians 4:13) "I believe, therefore I speak. (freewill) Case Closed...

By claiming two contradictory views are both true, are you saying that my questions indeed have truth?

So your believing in Jesus is totally random?

Did you choose to begin your faith by your will or God chose to begin faith in you (Hebrews 12:2)?

Who says God doesn't have free will? The only thing he can't do is something against his nature.

If God has to depend on all the numerous choices of each & every individual made each individual day, how could God have a plan in eternity which will be fulfilled? Does God depend on luck for His plans to be fulfilled in human history?

Philippians 1:29: "For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ...to believe".

"You believe" or "believing is given by God"?

Can you believe without Jesus beginning faith in you (Hebrews 12:2)?

So is your will free?

Luck? He's God. His plans are perfect. He has foreknowledge.
He is able to allow freedom and still bring about his overall plan. We can't fully understand how, but does it matter?

I don't know what you mean by random. We make numerous choices everyday. They are influenced but free. When it comes to the choice for salvation, we are influenced by the Spirit on one hand and the world, flesh and the devil on the other.
God doesn't make the choice for us.

Jesus didn't "begin" with faith in me. Faith "came" when I heard, and heard the preaching of the Word and received the measure of faith from hearing the Word and applied that faith and made the willful "choice" of accepting Him as my Lord and Saviour. I "chose" eternal life.

So you mean to say an individual's will cannot thwart/hinder God's plan for that individual?

If it was you who "heard", "received", "applied", "made" & "chose", what does the above mean?

If your choices are not influenced & your will is independent of any external data & influence, what is the meaning of the above?
