There are more and more churches that are departing from the basic gospel of Christ - that we are hopeless sinners deserving of hell, but God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross to take the guilt and penalty of sin for those whose receive Christ as Saviour, and that God raised Jesus from the dead to demonstrate that Jesus has the power to give eternal life to those who trust in Him. That is the real gospel of Christ and contains the power of God to bring salvation to those who believe it and put their trust in Christ.

I think you nailed it Oscarr! There are far to many churches today who don't want to offend anyone with what you have said.

This will only increase, and I see it as a departure from the truth.

I think it would be good to have more about righteousness, what it truly means, because according to the Bible, eternal life is promised for righteous.

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Mat. 25:46

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is likely that even if this question is asked , posted, re-posted, on all the forums, all the sites, and asked in all the churches for 7 weeks, that not even one man in a thousand would know the first important truth that was lost in the first three centuries.... (maybe we'll see...?) It is all the more difficult, because the current teachings/ groups/ have taught the opposite for so long....
