Noli: I have taken your youth and lack of experience into account as I ponder your amazing perspective. Unfortunately both aspects will reach into most limited results for you.

Well as I am 65 and have been walking with the Lord 46 years now, I will take your thought as simple ignorance of who I am.

But parables have literal meanings, I hope you know what both mean?

but Jesus is talking about His literal physical return from vses 31-46 as is known from the word when!

Same Chapter- different context! That is basic grammar.

Given that Jesus' physical return is spoken of many times in the NT I am surprised you deny it!

Noli: Walking with the Lord is an expanding experience of growth and transformation. With each step in our feeble walk, His love and grace is there to lead us in His anointing to fresh horizons. Hopefully in the next 46 years your horizons will broaden considerably.

If by your not so subtle implication, you mean I turn to an allegorical interpretation of Scripture and adapt covenant theology with either preterism or amillenialism and rejecting Gods plan for His covenanted people Israel- thanks I would need my eyes poked out to buy that stuff I was once taught!

But once again I do not wish to check out at the age of 110! Sooner than that is fine by me!

Maybe though God will give you that much more time so you may learn to know that God did not speak in riddles for nearly 98% of the Bible. He said what He meant and meant what He said!

There is only one interpretation of SCripture- literal. There are many applications from scriptures but only one interpretation!

JOnah really happened- and we can glean and apply many lessons from that historical account! Just like creation in 6 days, Noahs flood, tower of Babel, God making covenants He bound Himself to whether the nation of Israel was obedient or not!

As I know we are in the last days, maybe when Israel rebuilds the temple you will finally start accepting Gods Word instead of others spin on it!

2 Peter 1:20
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
In Context | Full Chapter | Other Translations
2 Peter 1:21
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Questions

1. Were the angels lying?

2. Is the mega joy announced truly for all people?
The good news of great joy is for all to hear. But not all will believe. (see John 3:15, 18, 36). Yet we are not the ones to decide who will or will not believe/be saved. Neither does God choose who will or will not. (the verses below indicate that)

3. What does all mean?
Acts 10:33-35 tells us that God shows no partiality. God treats all people alike.
Romans 3:29 God is the God of Jews and Gentiles also.
1 Tim.2:4 tells us that God wants all to be saved.
2 Pet. 3:9 tell us that God does not want anyone to perish, but that all repent.
John 3:16 tells us that He loves all people of the world.
Rm.5:8 tells us that while we were sinners Christ died for us.
1 John 2:2 tells us that Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and also for the whole world.

Dear Fw: The God of Glory is indeed the One to decide. God does not "want" all mankind to be saved, He "willeth" it. The word thelo in koine encompasses the scope, God wills all mankind to be saved. His Will is supreme over all wee wills.

Every knee, every tongue, every dimension of the heavens, earth & underworld IN/EN the Name worshipping in harmonious vibrations!

As I understand it, to want is to desire is intent is to will. We see God's side of the issue. However, not all who hear the gospel will want what God wants for them. They have their free-will to make the choice to not will it for them as God wills it for them.

There will be the day when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

But there will be those who will feign their obedience. (Ps.66:3; 18:44; 81:15) They are those who do not believe.

Dear Fw: That may be the way you understand it, but desiring something does not bring it to pass. The Lord is supreme: He wills all mankind to be saved, and not only saved, made righteous, all of which is reconciliation of all that is out of union and fellowship with Him, the all of ta panta.

Perhaps you also do not undersand the scope of "IN" as well. The day of every being in heaven and earth and the underworld worshipping the Lord is NOT by perfunctory genuflections, but IN the Name and all that being in the Name of all names entails. There is no buts; it shall be!

Every knee, every tongue, every dimension IN the Name of Jesus Christ: no exceptions!

You rpoint?

Are you implying that they somehow now understood the hidden meanings behind plain words?

or was it simply that he took the two walking and made them to understand that Messiah had to first die and rise again?

Rules of context child!

You should shake your head in shame. There is none so blind as those who refuse to see!

Noli: My entire being shakes at the announcement of megas joy which reaches beyond beyond to the ALL!

"The angel said to them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people."

Fear not= phobeō mē

Glad tidings = euaggelizō

Great = megas

Joy = chara

Shall be = esomai

The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master.

When you learn to read the bible as written instead of reinterpreted by snake oil salesmen- you will see that means to all peoples not every individual!

While It is meant for everybody- it is only good news for all who receive it! But as the one whom the angels announced this birth said:

Matthew 7:13-14 King James Version (KJV)
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Those who reject Jesus?

Matthew 25:46
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

If you wish to use the false argument you have tired to make for aionios- then if the punishment is temporary- then the life is temporary for both are aionios!

Noli: Again, aionios is not a time related word for punishment for zao life, NOT. The beloved St. John clearly defines aionios life. Put on your reading glasses, focus and concentrate>>>

This IS aionios zoe that we may know You the only true God & Jesus Christ...

Zoe is simple life! aionios tells us how long that life will be. Unless of course you think that living in heaven is not eternal (aionios) and comes to an end.

Funny that thousands of translators and even atheists all say aionios means everlasting- which is time. You are beating a dead and maimed horse!

So we shall pout you down as believing life in heaven comes to an end after a long time!

John 17:3 King James Version (KJV)

What bothers me more is that you have access to this information and yet you translate MAtt 25 :46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

as a long punishment and thehn life as a quality of life! This dishonesty is a mystery!
