James 2:10: "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all".

Let's assume our holy deeds get 99% marks according to the law. However, does it eventually only amount to 0% in God's perspective in view of James 2:10?

If yes, do we necessarily need Christ's holy deeds who got 100% marks according to the law, in order to approach the Father & be blessed (John 14:6: "no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”)?

Yes. If you want to put it that way, it is precisely because of Yeshua's 100% that we do not need to seek our own points.

In terms of points we are bankrupt, less than 0%, more like -1000% i.e. deserving of death....and we are all the same from Adam to the latest sinner on the planet. In fact the keeping of the law has always been useless for salvation, even in the old covenant. The reason for the ceremonial laws of the old covenant was so that the people of Israel could benefit from the 100%er to come. Not because the law was of any use as a point scoring effort.

Nevertheless the moral law does reveal what displeases God and so it is instructive. But if we want to please our Yeshua, we should be living way above the law, living according to the Spirit and doing things that please Him. Not because there is a law prescribed but because we want to make Him happy, we Love Him.

No Christian gets any marks for efforts that proceed from his own life. "What is born of the flesh is flesh" All our righteousness (i.e. our best behaviour) is filthy rags in God's sight. Lord Jesus is the only One ever to please God perfectly. If what we do is inspired and empowered by the Life of Christ who dwells within the born again believer, those works will stand. Anything else will be consumed by the fire of God's judgement. Thank God, we can give Him our ashes. He will exchange them for his beauty. Don't be afraid of failure. God uses it to draw us closer to Himself and to cause us to depend on Him more.

Yes, (If I understand your question correctly...)

At the same time there is definite benefit if even an unbeliever keeps as much of the law as they can. But this does not secure their salvation.

We were already (fully) blessed with all spiritual blessings when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior... by receiving His Grace and applying our faith. Your question about the "law" is irrelevant in the New covenant...

So you've loved God to earn blessings from Him? You don't need Jesus who did that for you?

I Loved God because He first blessed me:
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us....We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. 1 John 4

Is faith a confidence about Christ's works or your works to be blessed?

Faith in Him, that He will do what He has said He will do. Do you trust your Mother or your Wife? If so you have faith in her.

What is the purpose of your love?
Loves is what we were created for. The purpose of Love is for us to fulfill our purpose.
Is your love perfect?
No, because I am still concerned about myself. Perfect Love is demonstrated by Yeshua:

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Philippians 2

By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him? 1 John 3

So you don't withhold compassion from a brother in need as perfectly as Jesus?

I don't withhold compassion for people in need that come directly before me. But I am aware, as anyone of us is in this communicative world, of the huge black hole of need that there is in everywhere and I judiciously withhold my compassion for the sake of my own well being and survival. This is not the perfect model of Yeshua who did not withhold His very life, and so my Love is a long way from being anywhere near His.

If we were already blessed with all spiritual blessings the only works involved is.... "only believe in the one He sent." I choose to believe!

John 6:28,29 28Then they inquired, “What must we do to perform the works of God?” 29Jesus replied, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.”

If you come to God to be blessed based on Christ's 100% marks & not based on your marks which is only zero, are you admitting your unworthiness before God?

As your love is a long way from being anywhere near His, you agree the love of God doesn't abide in you?
No I do agree. Certainly the fullness of His Love is not channeled through me, but when I choose to act against my own feelings to Love another person in a way that I am not naturally inclined to do, then it is His Love that is providing the manifestation, not my own. This therefore is the evidence that His Love abides in me.

Hello Si_monfaith:
If your question is how to be blessed, that's easy. Christians don't have to worry about deeds, since they are now living under grace. There's nothing that attracts blessings faster than an attitude of gratitude.
The Bible commands us to "Always find something to be thankful for, even in the hard times" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). If you thank God daily for your current blessings, no matter how small or insignificant that they may be, you will receive more and bigger blessings.
The reason is because whatever the mind focuses on expands. So if you are focusing on positive things in your life (e.g., blessings), they will likewise expand.
Sincerely,
Al Gammate
