I will dare to beat this dead horse,

What are examples of beneficial mutations that "increase specificity" of proteins and benefit the survival of a species?

Is this a fair question to ask?
The vast majority of mutations are destructive. Very few, if any, have any benefit to an organism. I suggest Professor James Tour can enlighten you much more effectively than I can. He has a number of youtube presentations.

For those that benefit a species, do you have examples to share?

Nope. I'm not a Biologist but I can read, observe and come to a conclusion. I disbelieved evolution before I was a Christian. I have not read of any mutations that are constructive.

The vast majority of mutations are destructive.

Well that's completely false. The vast majority of mutations are neutral.

You yourself have at least a few dozen unique mutations compared to your parents. If most of those were destructive, you'd be in a lot of trouble.

I'm not a Biologist

Yup.

Genetic lay claim to a rare number of beneficial effects from mutations. They seldom last long or have enough of an effect for selection to act. For an adaptive trait on an evolutionary scale it requires more then a couple of single base substitutes. Often any change in the DNA sequence for any reason is called a mutation, that's a monomer.

A monomer or a misnomer?

I must have mispelled it :). This cell has the worst spell checker.
Mine has actually become dyslexic. You hit correct and it cuts the word in 2 or 3 parts and puts it in backwards with spaces in between.

You should get out more. Starting with your local library, then moving on the nearest University library with a good biology department.

Seriously, all you are doing is expressing personal incredulity based upon insufficient, or misunderstood data. I hope you realise that cuts no ice with those who have taken the time and the effort to study the data objectively and in depth. Come up with genuine objections, based upon evidence (well documented) not opinion and empty assertions, then your views will receive respectful attention.

That would be the same scientist who said this "I have been labeled as an Intelligent Design (sometimes called “ID”) proponent. I am not. I do not know how to use science to prove intelligent design although some others might. I am sympathetic to the arguments and I find some of them intriguing, but I prefer to be free of that intelligent design label. As a modern-day scientist, I do not know how to prove intelligent design using my most sophisticated analytical tools— the canonical tools are, by their own admission, inadequate to answer the intelligent design question. I cannot lay the issue at the doorstep of a benevolent creator or even an impersonal intelligent designer. All I can presently say is that my chemical tools do not permit my assessment of intelligent design."

And again, Aussie Pete, seriously? YouTube presentations! That explains a lot.

I hope to learn something here. Can we please not ruin it with attacks.
If that was aimed at me, then please note you won't learn anything if participants base their posts upon misunderstandings, misinterpretations and misrepresentations. I doubt you find those valuable, so why would you object to questioning them when they appear?

Both of us might have learned something if you posted an example of a constructive mutation. Instead there is just going to be another fight to have to scroll past.

What are examples of beneficial mutations

Apolipoprotein A-1 Milano

Apolipoprotein A-1 Milano (also ETC-216, now MDCO-216) is a naturally occurring mutated variant of the apolipoprotein A1 protein found in human HDL, the lipoprotein particle that carries cholesterol from tissues to the liver and is associated with protection against cardiovascular disease. ApoA1 Milano was first identified by Dr. Cesare Sirtori in Milan, who also demonstrated that its presence significantly reduced cardiovascular disease

that "increase specificity" of proteins

Like Sanoy, I don't know what that means.

The literature is replete with examples. If an individual feels they have sufficient education on the topic to question it, then they have sufficient education to find relevant citations. I shall happily aid someone who asks reasonable questions, expressing doubt, but showing a willingness to learn. Those who spout the tired rhetoric of Creationist agendas won't receive and do not deserve the same courtesies.

Here are two examples for you, both relating to adaptation to high altitude.

. Increase specificity ? Or specified complexity ? It’s creationist bafflegab thrown into an essay to look like they know what they’re talking about. Multisyllabic words, ya know!

Youtube presentation by one of the world's most eminent scientists. Yes. If you can hear his arguments and still believe in evolution, you have more faith than I have. I don't believe in ID as proposed by Berlinski and other Deists. I am very simple. In the beginning, God. Created. Why do I believe? God said so. That is good enough for me. I did not believe in Evolution ever. Everything I've heard and read from people like James Tour, Walt Brown and others, including Stephen Meyer, reinforces my scepticism.
