Guns abound in the USA. Enough said.
but a gun with VERY few exceptions) does NOTHING unless acted upon by a human. There are plenty of guns, but I can promise you that most are never used to kill a human being and even fewer are used to kill a human on any given day.

However our refusal to take effective action for the love of guns ensures that things like this will continue to happen.
but people who mean harm will do it one way or another. I find it ironic that the people you can trust with guns ( for the most part do not need gun laws; while the people who you cannot trust with guns do not give a flying flip about the gun laws.

Guns are easy to blame because people need something to blame. Fact is a gun doesn't kill anyone. The person who wields the gun kills someone. And 99.9% of gun owners have not killed anyone. UK was great at saying "We don't have guns!" and yet their violence levels are the same, except the bad guys use other weapons. Someone who wants to kill will kill with whatever they can.

Sure some will say "But guns let them kill more people!". My mother has rage issues but thinks her rage is ok compared to her dads. Getting rid of guns doesn't change the fact bad people do bad things. In other countries people use bombs and vehicles to kill mass amounts of people.

Now some also say "But vehicles for example are used to travel, they are not made for killing people!". Well neither are guns. At least in terms of citizens having one. They use it for either hunting or home defense. Most things in life are not meant to be used as weapons and yet a tiny amount will use something as a weapon.

As I sit here I am drinking a 23oz Arizona Tea from a can. This can is made to hold liquid for me to drink. And yet I could inject it with poison to kill someone. Or cut it open and use the sharp edges to slit someone's throat. Does this mean we should ban cans? Of course not.

thank you. A gun is a tool just like a knife, an ax a hammer.

Funny how I am seeing more about other attacks in Europe though. It is not a gun problem.

Statistics say otherwise. Sort by total or homicide per 100,000:
List of countries by firearm-related death rate - Wikipedia

In total gun deaths per 100,000 we are 10th between Panama and Uruguay.
In gun homicides we are 16h between Uruguay and Peru.

There is not a European country on the list above us in either. Closest is Montenegro at 12th in total and 20th in homicides.

Why do we have the gun violence rate ranking around countries from south america? Go sort it to "guns per 100 inhabitants" and see where we're at.

I don't see a correlation between guns per 100 inhabitants and homicide number.

that was not my point. My point was if I want someone dead I can literally use just about anything. In fact, most gun deaths are actually suicides as opposed to homicides.

Here's your table for total homicide rate for your point.
List of countries by intentional homicide rate - Wikipedia

Not a lot of European countries above us on that list either.

Lots of other countries where they apparently can't afford guns to kill each other with.

Additionally homicide is really a broad term. There are several criminal offenses that are included under homicides as well as justified homicides.

Colour me shocked. I can't believe this has happened.

Oh wait. It's normalised by frequency and perpetuated by stubborn Republicans.

I guess this puts to bed the 'good guy with a gun' argument too since this literally happened in Texas.

Mop up the blood and wait for it to happen again I guess. Let's just hope the bodies are in the ground before we're greeted by the next avoidable massacre in America.

but people who mean harm will do it one way or another.

Not nearly as often nor effectively as the comparisons between the US and other first world nations demonstrates.

Just because it happened in Texas does not mean that there were actually good guys with guns there, and moreover based on WHERE it happened in Texas I am inclined to believe it may not have been a resident anyway.

Actually, there are ways one could argue are more effective ( even if not used as ofteb).

May want to check that:

Homicide rate:

US: 5.3
UK: 1.2

Yes there are, hence why we do not allow civilian possession of CBR weapons.

You're right its not a gun problem. However, tighter regulations on guns would be the easiest solution by far.

Ideally, both parties should be able to come up with a bipartisan plan to reduce mass shootings while still upholding gun rights, but no, nothing happens and it seems nothing will :(
