Donald's been having massive meltdowns now that the facts have come out that Mexico did not capitulate to him.

OTOH the truth needs to be made known. OTOH maybe it would have been better to have appeased Donald, let him think what he needed to think, so the tantrums would stop. Better that he's off running victory laps that are unearned than making bigger messes.

No -- then he never learns.

Just because a drunk driver doesn't kill someone this time, that doesn't mean you let him off the hook.

Pointing out facts isn't moving goalposts, unless the facts are inconvenient to the hearer.
You stated that asylum seekers had to accept asylum if offered by Mexico.
I countered that it was up to the asylee, you then (jokingly?) alluded to a “funder” of said asylee’s journey calls the shots.

“Facts”? You, sir, have none!

And you would have had to have addressed these issues decades ago.

What would you have said then?

About what?

Do they have to do better than we do? What's the standard?

People happy to remain in their homeland.

Try not to miss so often.

I'm concerned that no conditions were placed on the money to help the poor and nothing to verify it if it were. All we've done is support tyrannical dictatorships whose biggest victims are their own people.
The US certainly should not support "tyrannical dictatorships".
Economic and humanitarian aid on the other hand is very beneficial and should be given much more.

Here's a view of what it does: https://www.usglc.org/faq-violence-migration-and-u-s-assistance-to-central-america/. It's not given to the governments. There's reasonable evidence that it's been successful.

So beggars can be choosers.
Your short pithy one-liners are an excellent indication of just how much thought you’ve given your answers.

Maybe complex political questions cannot be answered with such?

It wasn't intended to answer complex political questions, however Mao had an answer for that:

"Political power comes from the barrel of a gun."

How's that for a pithy one-liner, from one of the most important figures of the 20th century.

Biographies of famous people down through history are peppered with pithy one-liners that are associated with complex political problems.

You're welcome. :D

I sincerely pray for those people and their families who are struggling to find a way for their families to live in such a wicked world, where no one wants to help them, or even cares what happens to them. It makes me think of Christ every time I see them; and his words, what you did to the least of my brethren you did unto me.
I think that verse truly hits home regarding abortion. When we abort babies ( the very least of these) we are aborting Christ. I do feel badly that the UN could care less about helping to figure out and fix that is going on with these governments that are ruining these countries. But, the UN does not care and is too busy blaming Israel for the world's problems. Pray that these people would come to realize God will not ever bless lawlessness. You never have to break the law. The only time I could think of in the bible where someone lied and it worked out ok for them was with Rahab in hiding Caleb and Joshua. Other than that particular time, you just do not lie. There are many many poor and homeless already in America. That doesn't mean they should come into your house. But thankfully people can give to help our current homeless and poor. It means more when people love people and do not count on a government. All of Jesus words were to people. He did not ever address "government" when he said to love your neighbor as yourself, or "whatever you do to the least of these". Jesus wanted people to help people.

We need to help them reduce their birthrate, which is twice that of the U.S., and unsustainable economically.

They need to "Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house".

I’m sure your accommodations in the Heavenly realms will be the same that you afforded “others”.

Enjoy.

If you are a poor Guatemalan and decide that you and your family would be better off in another country, why wouldn’t you choose to go to the absolute richest country on the face of the Earth?

“This is the Greatest Country in the World” can make you feel patriotic, but adding “so let’s keep refugees out” under your breath, is rather unbecoming, doubly so that you drug Jesus into it!

Exactly right and it is what the left hates - the Mexican Gov was giving lip service as they have for years, but not moving. The President makes a bold move to penalize them and they suddenly put actions to their words.

Except that's not at all what happened.

THankfully last year America had more legal immigrants than the years prior. Believe me I understand poor. My friend lives over in Nigeria and has tried for over 11 years for her husband (who has never had a conviction or problem) to come to America. They have been married for over 11 yrs. They must wait the legal way. My grandparents waited. God blesses those who do not take matters into their own hands to break the law. Time and time again in the bible, whenever man decides that he "cannot wait for God", man brings destruction onto him or herself and their family.
Sadly most of the American kids in foster care are there because their parent is in American prison. Kids suffer for the sin of the parent. Maybe God is tugging at your heart to make a difference. Many Christian organizations are currently helping refugees find families to take them in, teach them skills (such as English, but also financial etc) and just get them integrated into systems of help (like church families). Contact Salvation army or Bethany Christian services to start. There may be others, but those are the ones in my area that do great things to help. There is another organization to help the children of those incarcerated. I think it has angel in the name. I have a 2 kids that I help so I never had to go through the organization. Take care!

Look at the number of legal immigrants last year compared to other years prior. Plus... man does not live by bread alone. A great country would NOT abort their unborn. They may be trying to come into Sodom & Gomorrah. God will not be patient forever with us.
