Another quote from Marshall:

"Neo-Darwinism is actually dead..."
Marshall boasts on his website about how his thread on the Internet Infidels was the longest in their history.

I was there when he started his thread. I saw him get his hat handed to him by the second page. I then saw him refuse to admit his errors and just reiterate his claims for another 1000 pages.
Marshall is just a run of the mill religious nut with a big ego and a business, and he is using his money to push his dopey religion.

Why should we care what he says?

"You are fighting the economic machine of science itself..." is what Perry Marshall says about Michael Behe's work. I've never considered that aspect of the never ending debate.
So Perry is a conspiracy nut, too. Who would of thought it?

<snort> This quotation strongly suggests (a) that Perry Marshall knows squat about real science and science funding, and (b) that Perry Marshall is not the brightest fellow on the planet.

As opposed to James MMXIX?

([King] James McGraw-Hill)

For all I know (or care) you might want to place him between you and God as well...

I believe he was referring to Darwinism...as being all that science has going for it right now, economically speaking, at least, in the minds of evolutionists. His comments seem to suggest that he believes evolutionary scientists are afraid that they will lose funding (their jobs) if Darwinism is too well, and too furiously shown to be obsolete. This is just how I interpreted the conversation of the video...I am not up on any of this stuff...so.

Does the Theory of evolution have practical applications do you think? Maybe in medicine or agriculture?

His comments seem to suggest that he believes evolutionary scientists are afraid that they will lose funding (their jobs) if Darwinism is too well, and too furiously shown to be obsolete.

Those working in the space industry would likely lose their jobs if space is discovered to be just a load of lights set into a hard firmament too.... but it ain’t going to happen!

This is just how I interpreted the conversation of the video...I am not up on any of this stuff...so.

Fair enough, I don’t really think that YouTube debates are the best place to learn about science.

This website has some excellent articles and resources...

The "economic machine" of science provides very little incentive either to study or to accept evolution. It's tough to get funding for purely evolutionary studies -- if biologists want money they're better off studying cancer or baldness. Just who is supposed to be behind this economic pressure? The politicians who set funding priorities? The other scientists who judge competing grant applications? Why would scientists promote something they didn't think was valid?

The comment just makes no sense at all.
