When the Bible speaks of giants I believe it refers to great men of the past just as we speak of "giants of industry" or "giants of science". Aside from that, there are physical limitations to the size a human can grow to. The first such is known as the square-cube law. If a human were to be expanded to, say, three times his size while maintaining his same proportions he would not be three times heavier he would be three cubed or twenty seven times heavier. However, bone strength increases as the square of bone diameter so this hypothetical giant’s bone strength would not be three times greater, it would be three squared or nine times greater. This means that compared to a normal human being our hypothetical giant’s bones would be under three times as much strain. In other words such a giant would have difficulty supporting his own weight without his bones collapsing under him. To illustrate, if a six foot tall man weighing 200 pounds were to be magnified three times, he would be eighteen feet tall and weigh 5400 pounds while his bone strength would only have increased enough to support 1800 pounds. Large creatures in the animal kingdom can compensate for this by having a much more massive bone structure to carry the weight. Think here of animals like the elephant, the rhinocerus and the hippo.. Some animals can also compensate by spending a lot of time being bouyed in an aquatic environment. Whales are the largest creatures to have ever lived and they must spend their entire lives in water. In the event of beaching they eventually die of asphixiation because they lack the strength to work their own lungs without the support of water. Some humans suffering from genetic gigantism have grown as tall as 9 feet. Such individuals have mostly been “bean poles”. Almost all of them have been extremely frail and clumsy. The clumsyness arises from the speed with which nerve impulses can travel from brain to muscle. In modern times the largest in proportion human being was Angus MacAskill who stood 7’9” tall and was 425 pounds. He seems to represent an upper limit to “normal” human giants. A giant 2000 ells (cubits) tall would be 3000 feet! Such a geologic size person would be fabulous ---- that is, a creature of fable.

I understand your skepticism about the size of the giants of the bible. However, a spider web strand is very strong for it's density ((Spider dragline silk has a tensile strength of roughly 1.3 GPa. The tensile strength listed for steel might be slightly higher—e.g. 1.65 GPa, but spider silk is a much less dense material, so that a given weight of spider silkis five times as strong as the same weight of steel.)

From what I understand, these giants are hybrids and as such, if they can grow to great stature.. could also have different bone density or material....

For us to sit here, in 2019 and argue about events and materials of pre flood... we are going to have errors.

The bible states that the "Son's of God" mated with the "daughters of man"... That is half human half angel.

Hello. I read thru it just once back in about 2006 and was interested in this 10 week prophecy.

Although the book of Enoch falls outside the current canon of scripture, it is an important book that tells us a lot about the important beliefs of the early church and the Jews of that time. It has been included in the canon at times in the past and was clearly a very important book to the early Messianic believers and was usually found bound together with the Gospels and Epistles of the Early church. Many copies were found at Qumran.

The authorship of the book is contested because its style changes several times through its text which would indicate more that one writer. This may be in part due to the fact that many of the early works of Judaism were preserved through an oral tradition and later put into written form. I am not a biblical scholar and have no basis to prove this, so it is then my opinion that this is the case.
But the fact remains that it is without a doubt a pre- Christian writing by as much as a 200 years and was accepted by the early church as a work handed down from Enoch. The accuracy of the prophetic writings in it speak for themselves. Many copies of Enoch was found among the Dead Sea Scrolls which date to at least 160 BCE.

Jesus himself makes reference to its teachings and uses some of the same expressions which makes you believe that He was very familiar with the book. Jude also quotes from the book as does John in the revelation:

This Ethiopic version of the Book of Enoch is deemed by scholars to be older by several centuries than the Slavonic one, and portions of that older version are in turn known to have been based on Keepers of the Secrets 129 even older manuscripts, such as a lost Book of Noah. I praise God almighty for giving me a second chance to be alive after a stroke last year November which I spend 5months and 3weeks in the hospital I'm still recovering but every day I ask FATHER GOD almighty to forgive me and send his holy spirit to guide me teach me every day .
The years that I have left on this earth all I want is to make it to heaven and meet my Lord Jesus Christ. Listening to this powerful word ,gives me more hope and lift up my spirit Thank you Jesus Christ Amen

Im listening to Enoch for the first time in my life and I Cry as I wait in traffic( truly a blessing in disguise) of how we've been robbed from this truth.
I'm a sinner in capital letters and hope God will have mercy on my soul as I awaken to this false reality that we've been subject to from day 1! Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me. I sinner!

Jesus Christ / Yeshua spoke about Enoch as it was biblical in those days. But the False Idol Worshipping Catholic Church decided to leave it out of the Bible. Why? They would rather commit Pagan Sun Worship. Or Pray and Praise Mary rather than the Trinity God Our Father, Yeshua His Son and The Holly Spirit

Angels do not marry anyone--why in the world would they submit to a religious ceremony when they turned their backs God Himself?? And if they turned their backs on God, why would they adhere to a human ceremony? Angels can not procreate, they can only make themselves appear as human. They can not create life, this is why they "possess'--they can't become human in any way. Do you know how tall these creatures are supposed to be? A human woman can't carry the offspring of such a huge being. I've heard every theory there is out there about this and none of it makes any sense. The text itself says they were men--men of renown--not half breeds of angels. God did not make them to procreate--they are Hs messengers. You really believe God created billions of all male creatures (not a one has a female name) with the proper "equipment" to procreate, but gave them no females to do so with? God doesn't do unnecessary. He doesn't make stuff that has no purpose. Only God can make things reproduce, God would have had to recreate them after they fell to be able to do so and why would He do that only to turn around and wipe them out for doing so? Makes absolutely no sense at all.

Yes it does say that. It also says "There were Giants in the land in those days, and after that".

There were giants in those days--yep---they lived to over 900 years, nothing says how tall Adam and Eve were. Why do people think they were as tall as we are today?

You are right. We have no way of knowing the height of Adam and Eve. We do know that they lived much longer.. Is it possible that there are many many things about this time period that are very different than today?

One thing you missed from your quote was the " and after that" part after the "in those days" part.

Please show me how you arrived at this conclusion. The angels that came to help Lot and his family were desired by the town folk and they wanted to have sex with them. Even over Lot's daughters, that he offered up instead...

Jesus made that clear. For a human female to give birth to the offspring of something like what you seem to think these things were---she would have died before she could even give birth.

I don't think that these things were giant babies.. they grew into giants.. just like Nimrod was a giant hunter.. then.. became a giant.. there is something more going on here.

Even a little person carrying a normal sized baby has to have a C section and it is considered a high risk pregnancy. Doesn't anyone think about the implications of such a thing happening? And why in the world would a fallen angel "marry" a human woman?

Because the human women were beautiful and the angels desired to have sex with them? I'm pretty sure that is what is meant by:

Yep, you are right.. they did not care about the law of God. These were rebellious fallen angels.
Not only did they not care, but God punished them by chaining them in the depths of hell for 70 generations. That's a pretty severe punishment for a heavenly being with all the abilities of an angel.

You do realize that this whole event was the blueprint of Satan to corrupt the human line of DNA in order to block the Savior from having a method of coming to earth as a fully human man... Right?

I don't know. Why make a being without a sex and call it male? This is not sufficient to say that they cannot have male parts.

Besides which, they are of a different order than we. We were created lower than the angels, They are not our kind.

True.. but this does not eliminate the possibility. We were created "slightly lower" than the angels.

Only God could give the that capability and why would He recreate a fallen angel to give them that ability and then turn around and kill them for using that ability?? Doesn't add up any way you slice it.
