And I thought I had done a lot of reading ;)

Pre-Marital & Marriage:
  1. His Needs, Her Needs - Willard Harley
  2. Love Busters - Willard Harley
  3. Five Steps to Romantic Love - Willard Harley (workbook)
  4. Taking Charge of your Fertility - Toni Weschler
  5. The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work - John Gottman
  6. The Five Love Languages - Gary Chapman
There are certainly other marriage/pre-marital books that have good information in them, but my experience has been that most are full of idle chatter and common sense, with only the occasional insightful tidbit. I love the ones by Willard Harley, because he was able to present a comprehensive idea in such a succinct fashion.

Parenting:
  1. The Quest for Cosmic Justice - Thomas Sowell
  2. Basic Economics - Thomas Sowell
These books are about the ideological fallacies running rampant in our society and schools. Knowledge I think every parent should pass on to their children.

Through a Man's Eyes... I questioned whether that book was helping or hurting, lol. What was your impression?

And I thought I had done a lot of reading ;)

I wasn't always marriage minded. I had some catching up to do. But even so, I'm surprised how much I've covered. I went through my lists on Goodreads. But I didn't add the things I'd read before the account was opened. God has kept me busy. ;-)

There are some I'd recommend for younger singles and others that are more appropriate for people a little older. And I think it's best for people to read books by those who've lived out singleness instead of the mainstream books that are written by people who married early and have no clue about the season you're walking through. Reading that can be discouraging. A mixture is best.

The tone didn't resonate. I liked the content but the voice was not enjoyable. There's something missing.

I think personality type books can be helpful in learning more about yourself and others regardless of single or in a relationship.
I thought Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain was a good book, it could be good for anyone who is quiet, or who is around others who are "quiet". I haven't read any others yet that particularly stand out to me.
At church quite a few years ago we used the work book Freed-Up Financial Living in our small group bible studies. That could be useful for anyone who wants to learn better money management and such.

There were a few Christian books I've read about dating/courting that I didn't entirely agree with everything they were saying so I can't quite recommend them.

I tend to read stories more than books on any of those topics. But a few books on my reading list that I haven't got around to reading yet: Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul by John and Stasi Eldredge and The Introvert Advantage: How to Thrive in an Extrovert World by Marti Olsen Laney.

The Five Love Languages - Gary Chapman

I read a lot of non-fiction books and there's a heap of self-help titles in the bunch. Quiet was good. I haven't read the others.

I don't read general financial books too often. I used to work in the industry. But I'll make a note of this one. If stewardship is the goal, Larry Burkett's books are really good. That's where Dave Ramsey got a lot of his information.
