  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That leads to something you should be able to relate to then. How would you like it if someone who knew your information was able to get a credit card in your name without having to prove who they were? Not a very secure system, is it? It also happens pretty often. It's called ID theft, and is a very serious problem. Now, if it's that easy to get a credit card in someone else's name by only knowing the right information, just imagine how easy it would be for someone to vote in your name without knowing anything at all about you accept for your name and address (which is publicly available).
That's not how our system works; we have to also sign a book and the signatures are compared. And yet, no one has ever stolen my vote. The risk to reward hardly makes it worth while.

Those states have also given clear instructions on how to get one of those IDs suitable for voting for either a very low cost, or even free. Yet the antis like to claim that their voting rights are being "suppressed", which is like saying that a landlord raising a person's rent by $5 is forcing someone to be homeless.
Those states? Which states? Each state has its own rules and the courts ruled that some states' processes were too onerous.

When I voted before the ID requirement, there was no comparisons of signatures. I was simply asked my name and then they had me sign my name. It wasn't compared to anything. Then they gave me a ballot to use. One time I asked the poll worker how they know whether or not someone is giving their real name rather than someone else's, and they said, "We pretty much know everyone who comes in here". Seriously? I didn't know the poll worker, and I'm pretty sure they didn't know who I was either. If I went there to vote and told them my name and they looked it up and found a signature already there, there would be nothing I could have done about it. They would simply claim I had already voted.

I can tell you that Wisconsin is that way since that's where I live. If a state's process is ruled too onerous, then they should change the rules. Still doesn't make the requirement of an ID itself too onerous.

Lol, the only meltdowns I've seen are in reaction to her Tweets, reaction to her. Not coming from her. To be fair now, she's hot, in every way. Maybe that's the reason for folks getting overheated & having meltdowns.

Perhaps you've never had it happen to you, but it still happens. That Time I Was Investigated For Voter Fraud
People here talk about how their own vote is "suppressed" (usually with the assumption that it's race-based), but someone voting in your name and keeping you from voting is no different.

Or even more likely the reason people come to her defense.

We’re following the President’s example. Hotness counts.

Criticize him, want him investigated, prosecuted and impeached, and now you're following his example? Does the Left have any real principles to follow at all, or do they simply do whatever feels good at the moment?

Did you read that article?

To be sure, I don't know if whoever signed my name did so with fraud in mind. He or she could have simply signed in the wrong place in the poll book. It would have been a particularly frustrating crime. Even that "close" at-large city council race was won by nearly 70,000 votes.

For goodness' sakes, learn to recognize sarcasm. Why just assume turpitude rather than humor - especially coming from him?

Yes, I did. Someone signed her name. I see that she says she doesn't know if they did it with fraud in mind, but seriously, how does someone accidentally sign another person's name?

Trump hasn’t said she’s hot yet so my strategy of being an AntiTrump is cool. You are correct that following Trump is foolish.

Nope. Her being young, attractive, & having won her election by a landslide are why folks go on the attack.
