THE SABBATH IS GOD'S 4th COMMANDMENT - WHERE IS THE SCRIPTURE THAT SAYS IT IS ABOLISHED?

Can anyone provide any New Testament scriptures where Jesus or His Apostles, command the Church to gather on the Sabbath for worship?
OR,
did you read how they continued meeting every sabbath and learning what Yahweh directed ? This was how they learned Yahweh's Word, because they did not have many copies to go around, remember ?

Not if you mean written word - Yahweh is Spirit, and teaches us in spirit, as written (described) in the Epistles. Then, gradually, our minds learn words to express the spirituals the Father grants us in spirit - we may often have spiritual revelation we cannot put into words , such as while praying (as written in Scripture also - I think something like "groanings" without words).
So "Spirit to spirit" , we follow Jesus, learn from Him, and abide in Him.

Can we learn from the Spirit without God's WORD when JESUS is the LIVING WORD *JOHN 1:1-4; 14 and the Spirit works through the Word in those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW it? *JOHN 6:63. JESUS says GREAT FAITH is when someone BELIEVES the WORD only to do what it says it will do.

Not really. I simply quoted God's WORD. You disagreed with God's WORD so your argument is with God not me.

HEBREWS 4:9 SO THEN IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH. (Aramaic Bible in Plain English).

NOTE: In HEBREWS 4:9, the Greek word for “rest” is sabbatismos, which is a Hebrew word—Sabbat, which means “the Sabbath”—combined with a Greek suffix—ismos, which means “a keeping of” or “a doing of.” Put together, sabbatismo means “a keeping of the Sabbath.” When correctly translated, Hebrews 4:9 should read, “There remains therefore a keeping of the Sabbath to the people of God.”

It is the words from your theory however is at fault. WE can enter God's SEVENTH DAY SABBATH rest today be BELIEVING and FOLLOWING God's WORD as it is discussed in HEBREWS 3 and HEBREWS 4.

Hope this helps.

Actually I haven’t disgreed with anything.

I asked a question.

Can anyone provide any New Testament scriptures where Jesus or His Apostles, command the Church to gather on the Sabbath for worship?

A commandment comes from a command.

So far, nor one has provided an answer.

You attempted to try and answer, but your scripture was shown not to be a command from Jesus or the Apostles.

Here is your scripture-

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.
Hebrews 4:9

Please point out the command to keep the Sabbath, in this scripture.

No I have never read that.

Please share that scripture.

I have read where Paul attended a synagogue to teach the Jews about Christ being their promised Messiah, but that usually was rejected.

Paul didn’t learn anything from unsaved Jews, and neither did the Apostles.

Paul learned directly from Jesus Christ.

Well that is not true. Now JBL are you being honest here? No need to answer. I will leave that between you and God.

Have we not had this same conversation in many threads and forums so far and you disagreed? Your question was answered with God's WORD. Sadly you did not like the answer because it disagrees with you.

Why repeat yourself when you know the answer is that God's 4th commandment is about sin for not remembering God's SEVENTH DAY SABBATH and working on this day?

Where does it say in God's 4th commandment that we are to gather on the Sabbath?

You are confused, the NEW TESTAMENT scriptures do not delete the OLD TESTAMENT. Everything from the NEW TESTAMENT comes from the OLD TESTAMENT. Together these are the WORD of GOD that we are to live by *MATTHEW 4:4.

HEBREWS 4:9 SO THEN IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.

Hope this helps.

Still no evidence of Jesus or His Apostles commanding the Church to keep the Sabbath.

Unfortunately Hebrews 4:9 does not say what you are claiming.

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. Hebrews 4:9

There is no command here for the Church to keep the Sabbath.

This scripture shows us a future rest remaining for the people of God.

Changing what the scripture says to suit your pet doctrine is just a form of lying.

There is zero biblical evidence that Adam and Eve observed the Sabbath.

Non-sabbatarians don't teach that the Mosaic-Sabbath-law was "abolished", but that it was fulfilled by Christ on the cross (Mt. 5:17-18).

Colossians 2:16 dress us from weekly Sabbath obligations, as does Romans 14:5 and the entire book of Galatians.

Acts 15 and 21 make it clear that Christians don't have to observe the Sabbath. If Sabbath observance was so important, you'd like to think they wouldn't exclude it at the Council of Jerusalem.

Nehemiah 9:14 is exceedingly clear that Sabbath observance laws were made known to Israel through the Mosaic law - which Christians don't observe.

Christians (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor 16:2, Rev 1:10) worship on Sunday, not Saturday. This isn't a new Sabbath, and the Sabbath hasn't been moved - we don't have to observe the Sabbath.

Hello godenver1, welcome and nice to meet you. Some comments for your consideration below.
There is zero biblical evidence that Adam and Eve observed the Sabbath.
Well that is not true brother. Where does it say in God's WORD that ADAM and EVE did not keep God's SABBATH? Adam and Eve were created on day six of the creation week *GENESIS 1:27-31. JESUS says that he made the SABBATH for MANKIND *MARK 2:27. Now if JESUS says that the Sabbath was man and the SABBATH was made AFTER the creation of mankind don't you think mankind (ADAM and EVE) would have kept the Sabbath?
Non-sabbatarians don't teach that the Mosaic-Sabbath-law was "abolished", but that it was fulfilled by Christ on the cross (Mt. 5:17-18).
Many do not know what the MOSAIC LAW is. God's LAW (10 commandments) is God's LAW, itis the work of GOD alone, spoken and written by God *EXODUS 32:16; EXODUS 20:1-17. The MOSAIC BOOK of the SHADOW laws *DEUTERONOMY 31:26 from the OLD COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 were written and spoken by MOSES *DEUTERONOMY 31:24-26 as directed from God to accompany God's LAW (10 Commandments). Many mix up the SHADOW laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 with God's ETERNAL LAW (10 Commandments) that give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTOUESNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172. If you do not know what the OLD COVENANT is how can you know what the NEW COVENANT is that the OLD COVENANT pointed to?
Colossians 2:16 dress us from weekly Sabbath obligations, as does Romans 14:5 and the entire book of Galatians.
No it doesn't your mixing up the SHADOW laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 with God's ETERNAL LAW (10 Commandments) that give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTOUESNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172. If you do not know what the OLD COVENANT is how can you know what the NEW COVENANT is that the OLD COVENANT pointed to?

Nehemiah 9:14 is exceedingly clear that Sabbath observance laws were made known to Israel through the Mosaic law - which Christians don't observe.
No it doesn't. The SABBATH was made for all mankind BEFORE ISRAEL was made *MARK 2:27; GENESIS 2:1-3
Christians (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor 16:2, Rev 1:10) worship on Sunday, not Saturday. This isn't a new Sabbath, and the Sabbath hasn't been moved - we don't have to observe the Sabbath.
God has his people in all churches living up the all the KNOWLEDGE his has revealed to them. Not all Christians are worshipping God in Spirit and in truth. The hour is coming and NOW IS that those who worship God must worship him in Spirit and in truth. God is calling all those who have ears to hear and eyes to see to come out from following man made traditions to worship him according to his WORD. JESUS says those who follow man made traditions over the WORD of GOd are not following God.

God's 4th commandment is one of the 10 commandments that give us the KNOWLEDGE of SIN if broken. If we break ANY ONE of God's 10 commandments we commit SIN *JAMES 2:10-11. God's WORD says that ALL those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will not enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN *HEBREWS 10:26-27 because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23.

There is not one scripture in all of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP SUNDAY as a Holy day.

Who should we BELIEVE and FOLLOW, God or man *ACTS 5:29; ROMANS 3:4?

Let me know if you wish to discuss anything in detail here. Happy to do so. Thanks for sharing your thoughts but God's WORD disagrees with you.

Hope this helps.

Hebrews 4:9 does not say what you claim.

You have changed what the scripture says, and inserted your own words.

Here is the actual scripture -

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. Hebrews 4:9

Here it is with some context -

For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Hebrews 4:8-9

There is a time in the future when we all will rest from our enemies.

That’s why this scripture says there remains therefore a rest...

However, this as you know has nothing to do with my question.

Here is my question -

Can anyone provide any New Testament scriptures where Jesus or His Apostles, command the Church to gather on the Sabbath for worship?

Shut to what?

Your claim is that Christians should go to a synagogue and learn the scriptures from unbelieving Jews!

Here let's look at the scriptures and the context you leave out.

HEBREWS 3 AND HEBREWS 4 THE GOSPEL AND THE SABBABTH

HEBREWS 3 and HEBREWS 4. These chapters also link very nicely into PSLAMS 95 if you have some time to read it but we will not touch on PSALMS 95 in this post.

For this post let's look at HEBREWS 3 and HEBREWS 4 and within Chapter and Scripture context highlighting what the scriptures are saying...

Hebrews 3
[8], Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
[9], When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
[10], Why I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do always err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
[11], So I swore in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.
[12], Take heed, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
[13], But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
[14], For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end;
[15], While it is said, To day if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
[16], For some, when they had heard, did provoke: however, not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
[17], But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?
[18], And to whom swore he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
[19], So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

..............

KEY POINTS OF HEBREWS 3

v8-10 God's people in the wilderness erred and hardened their hearts not knowing God's ways
v11 Because they hardened their hearts not knowing God's way God was angry and did not let them enter HIS REST
v13 Hardness of heart comes from the deceitfulness of SIN (breaking God's LAW)
v19 God's people did not enter into God's REST because of UNBELIEF

..............

WHAT IS HIS REST (God's) IN HEBREWS 3 and HEBREWS 4?

HEBREWS 4
[1], Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
[2], For to us was the gospel preached, as well as to them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
[3], For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
[4], For he spoke in a certain place of the SEVENTH DAY on this wise, And God did rest the SEVENTH DAY from all his works.
5,
And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

KEY POINTS OF HEBREWS 4:1-5

NOTE: CONTEXT is God's REST from the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH REST OF CREATION (v4-5) and those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW GOD's WORD [the GOSPEL] enter into God's SABBATH REST as GOD did on the SEVENTH DAY of the week. CONTEXT is GOD's SEVENTH DAY SABBATH REST and those who believe or do not believe God's WORD do not enter into that rest.

[6], Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
[7], Again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
[8], For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
[9] SO THEN, IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.

[10], For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his. [11], Let us labor therefore to enter that rest, [God’s REST the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH] lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief [rejecting God’s WORD and sin; Hebrews 3].

KEY POINTS OF HEBREWS 4:9

Now notice Hebrews 4, verse 9: “SO THEN, IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.” In verses 1, 3, 4 and 8, the Greek word for “rest” is katapausin. It means “rest.” But in verse 9, the Greek word for “rest” is sabbatismos, which is a Hebrew word—Sabbat, which means “the Sabbath”—combined with a Greek suffix—ismos, which means “a keeping of” or “a doing of.” Put together, sabbatismo means “a keeping of the Sabbath.” When correctly translated, Hebrews 4:9 should read, “There remains therefore a keeping of the Sabbath to the people of God.”

................

INTERLINEAR HEBREWS 4:9

continuing...

[10], For he that is entered into his rest (v9 SABBATH REST), he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
[11], Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief (Heb 3).

................

CONCLUSION: Yep lots of scripture here showing that if you do not enter into God's Gospel rest you cannot enter his SABBATH REST. v 1-4 is the context of the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH confirmed in v9-11 Hebrews 3-4 is talking about the Gospel and the keeping of God's SEVENTH DAY SABBATH by BELIEVING and FOLLOWING God's WORD. "There remains therefore a SABBATH rest to the people of God. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief" v9-11. HEBREWS 4 supports the keeping of the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH by believing and following the Word of God.

...............

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

Hebrews 4:9

Please point out the command to keep the Sabbath, in this scripture.JLB
Hebrews 4:9 - So there remains a Sabbath rest (sabbatismos) for the people of God. (NASB) Notice that the Greek word "sabbatismos" is used no where else in the Bible! Amazing that SDA's would suggest that this is the word for "keeping the weekly Sabbath" under the law when it is never used anywhere else.

W. E. Vine, Greek Dictionary proves the Sabbatarian argument wrong:

KATAPAUSIS (2663), in classical Greek, denotes a causing to cease or putting to rest; in the N.T., rest, repose; it is used (a) of God's rest, Acts 7:49; Heb. 3:11, 18; 4:1, 3 (twice), R.V. (1st part), "that rest" (the A.V., "rest," is ambiguous), 5, 11; (b) in a general statement, applicable to God and man, 4:10.

SABBATISMOS (4520), a Sabbath-keeping, is used in Heb. 4:9, R.V., "a Sabbath rest," A.V. marg., "a keeping of a Sabbath" (akin to sabbatizoµ, to keep the Sabbath, used, e.g., in Ex. 16:30, not in the N.T.); here the Sabbath-keeping is the perpetual Sabbath rest to be enjoyed uninterruptedly by believers in their fellowship with the Father and the Son, in contrast to the weekly Sabbath under the Law. Because this Sabbath rest is the rest of God Himself, its full fruition is yet future, though believers now enter into it.

Well that is not true maybe you should read your bible more? Your applying a mistranslation that is taking the GREEK word sabbatismos out of context to the applied scripture and chapter application. Let's see why?

HEBREWS 4:9 SO THEN IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.

Now let's add the CHAPTER CONTEXT back in to where sabbatismos is being used shall we? You are taking a GREEK WORD in isolation to the CHAPTER CONTEXT which is GOD'S REST. Let's take a look at the chapter COTNEXT you leave out.

KEY POINTS OF HEBREWS 4:1-5

v1 Let us fear therefore while the promise of entrance into His rest stands, lest a man of you should be found who comes short of entering.
v2 For we also were evangelized as also [were] they; but it did not benefit those who heard the word because it was not joined with faith to those who heard it.
v3 But we who believe are entering into rest just as He said, “As I swore in my anger, they shall not enter My rest, for behold the works of God have been from the foundation of the world.”
v4 According to what He said about the Sabbath, “God rested on the seventh day from all of His works.” Verse 4 is an explanation of how “the works of God have been from the foundation of the world.” In verse 5, the author returns (“And here again”) to the primary thought from Psalm 95:11 about entering katapausis
v5 And here again He said, “They shall not enter My rest.”

NOTE
: CONTEXT is God's REST from the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH REST OF CREATION (v4-5) and those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW GOD's WORD [the GOSPEL] enter into God's SABBATH REST as GOD did on the SEVENTH DAY of the week. CONTEXT is GOD's SEVENTH DAY SABBATH REST and those who believe or do not believe God's WORD do not enter into that rest. You do know my friend that Vines is a man and in his dictionary he is using his own interpretation of God's Word and the passage you quoted from Vines is NOT God's Word. You cannot take GREEK word meanings and apply a correct interpreation of the scriptures by using language meaings out of context.

You seem to be mixing up two different words used for REST; sabbatismos, Heb. 4:9 and katapausis rest (Heb. 3:11, 18; 4:1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 11),

“Sabbath rest” (sabbatismos, Heb. 4:9). Sabbatismos rest is to be distinguished from the more frequently used katapausis rest (Heb. 3:11, 18; 4:1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 11), which means “resting place” or “calming.” Sabbatismos, which is derived from either the noun sabbaton (Strong’s) or from the verb sabbatizō (Vine’s and Moulton’s), means “Sabbath observance” or “Sabbath kind of rest” (Bauer, Arndt, & Gingrich). The verb form sabbatizō is is used in the LXX to mean “keep the Sabbath” (Exo. 16:30; Lev. 23:32; 26:34; 2 Chr. 36:21)

Sorry my friend God's WORD disagrees with you.

What I shared with you is the truth and your long winded posts full of scripture twisting and propaganda will never change that.

The book of Hebrews reveals the New Covenant Sabbath rest for believers. Hebrews 4:9 says that "[t]here remains, then, a Sabbath-rest [sabbatismos] for the people of God.” Interestingly, the word sabbatismos is found only once in the New Testament, and it is likely because the author of Hebrews was attaching to the Sabbath a new and expanded meaning beyond that of sabbaton, which is otherwise used to denote the Sabbath day (Ratzlaff 284). Although for centuries the Jews had found their physical rest in a day, the New Covenant takes the focus off the shadows of the Old Testament signs and rituals and reveals their spiritual substance—the fulfillment/reality—in the person of Jesus Christ. Christians find complete Sabbath-like rest in Christ's finished work on the cross. Believers are to “make every effort to enter that rest,” which should be experienced "Today"— every day for the Christian (Heb. 4.11 and Heb. 4.7). According to Andrew T. Lincoln, formerly a professor of New Testament at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, the author of Hebrews teaches that “the New Covenant people of God discharge their duty of Sabbath observance […] by exercising faith”; thus, believers “cease from their own works so that God may work in them” (213). The New Testament Sabbath rest is entered into daily by ceasing from one’s "works" of trying to earn salvation though keeping the old covenant law. For Christians, the Sabbath is a Person; His name is Jesus Christ, our Sabbatismos. - Sabbatismos Ministries: Finding Our Rest in Christ - New Covenant Sabbath Rest

Your only repeating yourself again here without addressing the CHAPTER context you left out. If we do not enter into the gospel rest of BELIEVING and FOLLOWING God's WORD we do not enter into GOD'S SABBATH REST of peace and reconciliation from sin (breaking God's Commandments).

Let's get clear on our definitions then apply the context you have left out. The GREEK Words for Sabbath are sabbaton and sabatismos; Sabbatismos is a derivative from sabbaton. Let’s look at the meanings…

1, SABBATON; Strong's Concordance; σάββατον; SABBATON; sab'-bat-on Of Hebrew origin [H7676]; the Sabbath (that is, Shabbath), or day of weekly repose from secular avocations (also the observance or institution itself); by extension a se'nnight, that is, the interval between two Sabbaths; likewise the plural in all the above applications: - sabbath (day), week.

2. SABBATISMOS 1. Strongs Concordence; SABBATISMOS: a sabbath rest; Original Word: σαββατισμός, οῦ, ὁ; Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine; Transliteration: sabbatismos; Phonetic Spelling: (sab-bat-is-mos') Short Definition: a Sabbath rest; Main Definition: a keeping of the Sabbath, a Sabbath rest.

2, NAS Exhaustive Concordance Word Origin from a derivation of sabbaton; Definition a sabbath rest NASB Translation Sabbath rest (1).

3, GREEK Lexicon - a Sabbath rest; σαββατισμός sabbatismos a sabbath rest as a derivative of sabbaton

4, GREEK Interlinear - So therefore there remains a sabbath rest to the people of God (This is the literal GREEK translation of the Hebrews 4:9)

5, Abbot Smiths Greek Lexicon of the New Testament *σαββατισμός, -οῦ, ὁ (<σαββατίζω, TO KEEP THE SABBATH, Exo 16:30, al.), A KEEPING SABBATH, A SABBATH REST: metaph., as in Mishna (Zorell, s.v.), Heb 4:9.

SABBATISMOS is taken from SABBATON meaning THE REST GIVEN IN GOD'S SEVENTH DAY SABBATH.

NOTE: The cyriac or Aramaic form of from which SABBATISMOS is taken is therefore the most accurate translation and reads...

HEBREWS 4:9 SO THEN IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH

Sabbatismos rest (Sabbath rest” sabbatismos, Heb. 4:9) is to be distinguished from the more frequently used katapausis rest (Heb. 3:11, 18; 4:1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 11), which means “resting place” or “calming.” Sabbatismos, which is derived from either the noun sabbaton (Strong’s) or from the verb sabbatizō (Vine’s and Moulton’s), means Sabbath observanceor “Sabbath kind of rest” (Bauer, Arndt, & Gingrich). The verb form sabbatizō is is used in the LXX to mean “keep the Sabbath” (Exo. 16:30; Lev. 23:32; 26:34; 2 Chr. 36:21)

...................

NOTE: Now we have gone through the Greek word definitions of SABBATISMOS in detail from the Different concordances, lexicons, interlinears and also looked at other parallel translations that show that SABBATISMOS is in reference to the keeping of the God's SABBATH rest, let's now have a look at the CONTEXT and within scripture and chapter application of SABBATISMOS in HEBREWS 4.

...................

ADDING THE CONTEXT; WHAT SABBATH REST ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?

HEBREWS 4:1-11
1, Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2, For to us was the gospel preached, as well as to them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3, For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4, For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5, And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

NOTE
: CONTEXT is God's REST from the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH REST OF CREATION (v4-5) and those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW GOD's WORD enter into God's SABBATH REST as GOD did on the SEVENTH DAY of the week. CONTEXT is GOD's SEVENTH DAY SABBATH REST and those who believe or do not believe God's WORD and enter into that rest.

6, Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7, Again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8, For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9, SO THEN IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH

Now notice Hebrews 4, verse 9: “There remains therefore a SABBATH rest to the people of God.” In verses 1, 3, 4 and 8, the Greek word for “rest” is katapausin.

10, For he that is entered into his rest (v9 SABBATH REST), he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11, Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief (Heb 3).

.................

CONCLUSION: HEBREWS 4 is talking about the Gospel rest of BELIEVING and FOLLOWING God's WORD; v29 Learn of me; v30 my burden (doing) is light. This agrees with Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. HEBREWS 4:9 is in reference to God's SEVENTH DAY SABBATH RES which is the CONTEXT shown in HEBREWS 4:1-5. HEBREWS 4 therefore with context added is saying that no one enter God's Sabbath rest if they do not BELIEVE God's WORD or follow it.

Sorry MMD, looks like God's WORD disagress with you.

..................

I have shared my opinions from Scripture numerous times with you, which are not merely the "words of website," as you put it and websites that I have shared with you from former SDA's also quote Scripture and can be a big help to you, yet you remain close minded and continue to resort to propaganda to further your cause.

*You yourself have had a link to a website (The BeastsMark is coming) attached to your posts in the past which share others opinions in regards to the Sabbath, so no more pot calling the kettle black.

The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16) To "believe" the gospel is to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

Yet sadly, you continue to twist the Scriptures and pervert the gospel by teaching salvation by "grace plus law, faith plus works." (Galatians 1:6-9) :(

Sorry friend sadly God's WORD disagrees with your word of website.

Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it. Check it out. ;)
GOD'S WORD actually disagrees with you and your perverted gospel. I will continue to believe and follow GOD'S WORD and not your Scripture twisting propaganda. ;)

I have shared my opinions from Scripture numerous times with you, which are not merely the "words of website," as you put it and websites that I have shared with you from former SDA's also quote Scripture and can be a big help to you, yet you remain close minded and continue to resort to propaganda to further your cause.

Not really. You share your opinions from quotes of the words of website. You do not adress the scriptures and the posts provided to you only in love to correct your errors of interpretation. You choose to follow your own words in place of God's WORD so your argument is with God not me. Many are called but few are chosen. Many will fall away from the truth of God's WORD to follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God. JESUS says those who KNOWINGLY follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9.

*You yourself have had a link to a website (The BeastsMark is coming) attached to your posts in the past which share others opinions in regards to the Sabbath, so no more pot calling the kettle black.
The website is my own pointing all to God's WORD. The same as I do on the forums.
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16) To "believe" the gospel is to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

Indeed. This is a very important part of the Gospel. The Gospel however according to God's WORD is EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of God not just some of it. How can we pretend to teach Grace without God's LAW, when God's LAW (10 Commandments) gives us the KNOWLEDGE of what sin is in order to lead us to the cross of Christ so that we might be forgiven by Faith *GALATIANS 3:22-25; ROMANS 3:20; MATTHEW 9:12-13? JESUS came to save us from sin not to continue in sin. If we kowingly continue in sin (breaking anyone of God's 10 commandments) *JAMES 2:10-11 we will die because you reject the gift of God's dear son *HEBREWS 10:26-27; ROMANS 6:23.

Yet sadly, you continue to twist the Scriptures and pervert the gospel by teaching salvation by "grace plus law, faith plus works." (Galatians 1:6-9)

Well sadly none of that has any truth in it. All your posting are your words over God's WORD. These are God's WORD not mine, so your argument is with God not me. SIN will keep all those who practice it out of God's KINGDOM.
GOD'S WORD actually disagrees with you and your perverted gospel. I will continue to believe and follow GOD'S WORD and not your Scripture twisting propaganda.
It is given to the blind to have eyes to see and ears to hear and the lame to walk while those seeing see not. Those hearing hear not and those walking walk not. This is because spiritual things are spiritually discerned. They that be whole do not need the physician but those that are sick seek him. Many do not know the meaning. God's WORD is not perverted. No one follows God's WORD by not BELIEVING and FOLLOWING what God's WORD says. SIN will keep all those who practice it out of God's KINGDOM because they reject the gift of God's dear son *HEBREWS 10:26-27; ROMANS 6:23. Yep many going to be disappointed come judgement day HEBREWS 10:31; MATTHEW 7:22-23.

Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it over the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God. JESUS says those who follow the teachings and traditions of men are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9.

May God help you as you seek him through his Word.
