<FL>D.A.: seldom in your responses to anyone is the words "nonsense" "irrelevant" & "scribblings" not posted! You never play nice, in fact you know not how to play. You do not learn "quickly" and from all appearances do not learn anything from anybody.
Your attitude must change or you are doomed to continue in the same arrogant tone!<end>
In other words I am just as adamant in my beliefs as you and many others are. I do not blindly, uncritically accept everything some anonymous person posts. I strive to provide and expect to be provided credible, verifiable, historical, grammatical etc. evidence in support of any points presented. I can readily refute most heterodox arguments which are presented. There may be 1-2 exceptions but I think I have only referred to the information at wiki being about as reliable as the scribbles on a public facility wall. What I refer to as nonsense usually is. One example is the oft repeated claim that "hell was copied from paganism."

Good for you, you found one exception. Do you want a gold star? Do you think the unsupported opinions of Vincent, Farrar, Morgan or any other scholar, which cite no scripture, lexicons, concordances etc., are profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness?

the goats...foolish virgins - must depart
go to - everlasting punishment....

Dear Vin; You are the very one I am looking for. You have stated how "simple" our Father's word is. Please answer the following>>>>

Take 10

You, the proponents of damning our Fathers vast majority to damnation will not fill in the blanks. Why??

There is one (1) passage of Canon for "everlasting punishment" (Matt.25). This one single verse is the cornerstone for the proponents of unending punishment.

This should be so easy for you!

According to the context of St. Matthew 25, and ONLY the context, please fill in the empty lines.

The foundation for "everlasting punishment" Matt. 25=

1._____________________________________________________________?

2._____________________________________________________________?

3._____________________________________________________________?

4._____________________________________________________________?

5._____________________________________________________________?

Please Note

This is the easy part, the questions following this cornerstone text will be harder!

Daniel 12:2 shows

Dear Vin: Stop right there!

We are discussing only one passage of Canon, the cornerstone of "everlasting punishment" and what qualifies a "goat". When you have completed that "simple" task, the questions surrounding the context of St. Matthew 25 will henceforth be considered.

Go for it, my friend!

This is such an easy exercise. Simple & straight forward.

We are now at take 10.

Perhaps the harder aspects of this parable of Jesus Christ should be considered first.

1. Why are "virgins" in the context of Matt.25?

2. Why is this not a comparison between pure virgins and harlots or loose women?

3. Why are two clean animals(according to Old Covenant) in the parable i.e. sheep & goats?

4. Why not 1 clean animal and 1 unclean?

5. Why not a sheep (clean) and a pig (unclean)?

WHY?

All of the ten virgins were expecting the groom to arrive. The foolish took no oil, as they were thinking he'd be right there, or that so what if they were in the dark. The wise, not knowing the day, nor the hour-could thus not share any of their oil, but told the others to go buy from those that sell it.

Dear Vin: All ten pure virgins! Five wise, five foolish, but virgins.

Note the underlined testament to sterile point-scoring. As a 'bully boy' of CF you routinely display contempt for others and virtually any source that diverges from your beloved doctrine. You appear from the above and dozens of other of your posts to hold the absurd belief that you actually "win" your arguments on the basis of sledge-hammering others with your beloved citations.

"I can readily refute most heterodox arguments which are presented"
...is NOT synonymous with...
"My refutations and bullying tone prove the truth of my position"

What I find fascinating is that you are one of those people who, even when your position is shown to be lacking--as I believe was ably demonstrated in my last post--you seem to not have the ability to be embarrassed by this, but keep on bullying and pounding as though your beloved "credible, verifiable, historical, grammatical, etc. evidence" actually has any more than a distant relationship to truth. I've been through the devastation of my doctrinal fortresses--which were very similar to the theological position you exhibit--being torn down by the Lord over a three year period more than 20 years ago. It was the best and worst time of my life; the Lord, after pulverizing idols (Isa 27:9) and killing His enemies (Mat 10:34, Isa 42:13-17) rebuilds the inner person as per Ezek 39:1-22. All the cherished scholarly citations can't lead us to the underlying metaphoric truth of these and many dozens of other passages of Scripture, which is why organized Christianity is incapable of grasping God's plan to save all: it's hidden in plain sight in the beautiful symbolism of His word. Gog and Magog, wheat and tares, sheep and goats are elements within each person. God's enemies aren't individual people, they are elements of badness (falsity) within each soul. All of our beloved man-made, historical-grammatical mortar lacks the truth to hold those proud, tall towers together in the day of the Lord's cleansing wrath. At the end of every death is rebirth and new life (Jn 12:24), after those proud towers are smashed to dust.

Where are you without the opinions of men to hammer others with? Do you have any ability to think on your own without leaning on the writings of others whose beliefs you've bought into?

This is something i don't get either. You have this all powerful god who punishes people forever for rejecting him yet he has given them freewill, expects people to believe in him yet provides not one shred of evidence he is real.

Maybe God has decided what's sufficient evidence that he's real and not man?

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Rom 1: 18,20

Refresh my memory which post was that where all this "lacking" and "ably demonstrated" was going on?

Once upon a time the Army tried to make an Officer and a Gentleman out of me. They gave me a big stack of manuals, regulations, operation orders etc. and throughout that period of training I did not do a whole lot of thinking on my own, I did things by the book. Then after I successfully completed , the Army decided to teach me how to fly helicopters. Again I was given manuals, regulations etc. once again I did not do a lot of thinking on my own. Consider doctors, lawyers etc. do they do things on their own or do they lean heavily on the law and medical books? Did you know that in virtually all Dr's offices there is a large book referred to as the PDR, Physicians Desk Reference. It identifies every dispensable medication available, what the medication if for, contraindications etc. They don't just do things on their own. But if you want to do things on your own and disregard everything but your own opinion, have at it.
