• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Does anyone who has a binge eating disorder start feeling angry and almost violent while they're eating for "no" apparent reason? I get so angry that I sometimes violently stuff as much food in my mouth as possible because I'm sick of never getting satisfied. I eat and eat and eat :sigh: I get good nutrients in my diet, I'm not malnourished or anything. Most of my life I've always been a pig, but it's getting worse as I get older. Most of my life I've suffered with almost never getting a signal in the brain to stop eating. So far, doctors have not been able to figure out why.

Few things could be the caused for eating too much. It could even be emotional, mental and physical; all of it is apart of habit. I'd start with what type of foods you eat, ensure you're getting enough fiber and low-calorie yet plentiful filling the stomach (ex: vegetables each meal). If you're eating mostly high-calorie but low-density food, it could be a cause not getting full. Also eating less such as snacking and waiting for bigger meals could be helpful, plus eating slower while chewing and between bites (ex: talking to a person or watching a show during meals).

Just as there's a need to have positive habits physically (diet/eating), it would help to recognize mentally your emotions. Address negative emotions or thoughts, think it through before acting and consider whether it's a problem. If so, try to stay positive about yourself and the situation; when needed reach out to others. The idea is to have habits which replaces old habits less helpful or wanted (ex: praying before you eat: clearing doubts/fears and filling yourself with hope/love).

Insulin resistance , your cells probably starving while your body instead of feeding them is making fat for future .
Low carb diet will solve it .

I have a feeling you are right. Who knew it would involve this kind of suffering. I was naïve :(
