For someone who's through with this NONSENSE you sure did say a lot.

Some correct, up at the beginning part...
But then it became incorrect.

You see, I use the bible too - I don't make up my own doctrine.
AFTER salvation we are REQUIRED BY GOD to obey His commandments.

Those such as yourself do not see this in scripture. Some even say that, yes, we can sin and STILL BE SAVED.

It's unfortunate for new Christians that those such as yourself tend to confuse them by making it seem that we are NOT required to obey God.

Not listing any verse.
It seems to me to be common sense that God wants obedience.

I still haven't seen ONE verse that says we could live a life of sin and still go to be with God, or that we could not obey His commandments and still go to be with Him.

It doesn't exist.

P.S. What does the word BELIEVE mean?
It opens up a whole lot of understanding once we know the meaning.

As someone else has just said, I also leave conversing with you.

I hope the best for you and wish you peace and good health but I find that I do not have the ability to keep giving you accepted Bible exegesis of the Scriptures and information only to have you reject it. Scripture after Scripture has been posted for you and all I see is …….."that we could not obey His commandments and still go to be with Him.

I leave you with the words from Titus 3:9...……
"But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless"

So many professing Christians like to throw out the question "so you can can live a life of sin and still be saved?" Not realizing that that very question applies to them as well. Every single one of us sins in our flesh every single day.

Yet, many still believe they themselves are saved, and usually because they just don't think their sins are as bad as another's or, perhaps, because their good deeds will outweigh their bad. (There are all kinds of reasons for justifying adding works to grace.)

Scripture is clear, no one is saved by works or by any other Way but Christ. Period.

Yes sister, you are correct.

I couldn't have said it better.....so, I guess I belong on that list too. (If I'm not already on it)

You can be on it but I am #1!!!!!!

Wouldn't be wonderful that if it was possible, when the "Books are opened" at the Judgement Seat of Christ we see this list where we actually fought the good fight in getting out the correct exegesis of God's Word gets us a REWARD????

I will indeed be grateful for any reward if I am found worthy of such. I am, however, more than thankful for my salvation in Christ, because I know I was not worthy of such amazing grace.

Thank you and all praise and glory to God for working through you in your willingness to “fight the good fight” and “earnestly contend for the faith once delivered to the saints”.

Blessings Major1 :)

This is an excellent reminder. Thank you! We indeed have nothing to boast in. Even our crowns we will cast at His feet.

Our Saviour Jesus Christ is the only worthy One.

God has indeed blessed us with brothers and sisters and the means to encourage one another through many different avenues (like this forum). You have been an encouragement to me as well.

Couldn't be more true, especially in this day and age with the advent of instant communication and the quick spread of information; anybody could spread anything at a moment's notice and masses would believe it, all because most don't read their Bibles like they should.

Sadly, this has indeed happened. Scripture does warn us the “last days” will be like this.

Agreed.

You know, mass and instant communication is one of the signs of the 2nd Coming...…..

Computer and cable TV and cell phones have now made that a reality.

Okay, now read 2 Corinthians 4:3-4, 1 Corinthians 2:13-14, Acts of the Apostles 28:26-27.

You cannot see what is plainly in front of you. The previous scriptures show clearly that God requires us to continue in all things written in the book of the law, to do them; if we are going to be redeemed through keeping the law (Galatians 3:10-14). That if we keep the whole law and offend in one point, we are guilty of breaking all of it (James 2:10). And that Jesus commands us to be perfect even as our heavenly Father is perfect (Matthew 5:48).

You tell me how these scriptures don't show that the requirement is to keep the law perfectly, if we are going to be justified by the keeping of the law.

Sorry justbyfaith, you are reading something into the Bible that isn't there. Let the Bible speak for itself without you adding anything. Jesus said if you (you, me, and everyone else) wants to enter life, keep the commandments. No need to add 'perfectly' when it's not there.

If Jesus had meant keep them 'perfectly', this would have been the most essential passage to add 'perfectly'. However, He didn't and I am sure not going to add it. I can add things to this passage also if I wanted to prove my point. For instance, 'if you want to enter life, keep the commandments like Zacharias and Elizabeth did', or 'if you want to enter life, keep the commandments, for then you will know me' (oh wait, John did say that in his epistle).

Now given what John said, how do you propose anyone can know Him without keeping His commandments?

1 John 2
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

With John's words in mind, please answer these questions.

1. Can someone who does not know Jesus be saved?
2. Can someone who does not know Jesus be justified?
3. Can someone who does not know Jesus have any truth in them?
4. Can someone who is a liar know the truth?
5. Can someone who is a liar know Jesus?
6. Can someone who is a liar tell others they cannot enter life by keeping His commandments?
7. Can someone who has no truth in him be saved?
8. Can someone who has no truth in him think he knows better than Jesus?
9. Can someone who has no truth in him know Jesus?
10. Can someone who has not truth in him understand why some people believe Jesus and want to enter life by keeping His commandments?

How in the world can you and others say we can't keep His commandments, how can you and others say we are not saved by keeping His commandments, and how can you and others tell others not to believe Jesus, for life is not acquired the way Jesus said, but acquired some other way?

1. No (Matthew 7:21-23).
2. Saved/justified are the same thing.
3. Yeah, a person can call Jesus "Lord" and still be condemned (Matthew 7:21-23).
4. All have lied and sinned (Romans 3:23, Romans 3:10, Revelation 21:8).
5. We're all liars and sinners (Romans 3:23, Romans 3:10, Revelation 21:8).
6. A Christian can tell an unsaved person they can enter life by keeping God's commandments, but those who live under the law must be doers of the law (which means keeping all the commandments without sin, sin being the transgression of the law according to 1 John 3:4), but its a moot point because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, so no one can keep the commandments and be justified before God (Romans 3:20, Galatians 2:16, Romans 3:23).
7. Anyone can be saved. God wants all men to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9).
8. Someone who has no truth in him can think he knows better than Jesus; heck, Christians (saved people) can think they know better than Jesus; it doesn't mean its true.
9. This is a redundant question, because to know Jesus is to be saved/justified (Philippians 3:9-11).
10. A non-believer can understand that another person would reasonably desire everlasting life, though they don't believe it exists. It's called empathy.

So, what's your point of these questions?

So, what's your point of these questions?

Do you believe a person can enter life (be saved) by keeping Jesus' commandments, as Jesus told us?

Matthew 19:17
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
