Thank you. I am not really new to the Christian Forums group. I am one of the most senior Administrators at the sister forum, The Baptist Board, where I have been an Admin for 18 years. :)

I was introduced to the the cyber world of forums in 2010 , never dreamed of being part of such. I became a member of one that was like walking the world in a day and seeing all kinds of things and people . It is a general forum and before I understood how to post and respond I cried many times. I have learned so many things and have loved and hated it but mostly love.

I think about what all the people of God in the Scriptures would do with our cyber world and trust they would do all they could for the Kingdom of God. They where writers themselves and could not travel like we do now either by plane or internet...What a bitter ,sweet world we live in.

For some reason I was never called to a Christian Forum until last week and my heart hurts. The general forums you expect red karma , trolls , shills or bullying. In my mind I thought it would be completely different and cried today at what I have found. I can be very naive and tend to think we all read the same book , we should all believe the same way. It was easy for me to see the division in the real world with all the divided churches but some how I thought different of what I just stepped into. Then the Lord reminded me of Jesus preaching first and hardest to the those that said they knew and loved God. They could quote the Scriptures and laws yet was the most lost. We must go to His word everyday as a child. We should never be Job and assume just because God says this about us , Job 1

8And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil;we don't have something to worked out like pride.

Careful loved ones God is the teacher till we graduate from this life to the next...Go to His word and Him first to be ready for the war that will not end till His return and

God helps us all...

I have had an online presence since about 1980. First in Christian chat rooms (IRC) then in forums, starting with the Fighting Fundamentalist Forum and the Baptist Board.

I have had many great dialogues with other Christians, and have come to appreciate the different positions taken and why they are taken by others.

But I have also encountered some with a very hateful spirit who will quickly degenerate into name calling and questioning my salvation if I disagree with them, or even ask them to support their assertions preferably from the bible, or even philosophically.

And I often encounter others who simple do a drive by post then refuse all requests to honestly and maturely discuss the issues.

But I have been serving my Savior for longer than most of the participants have been alive, and will continue to do so until my dying breath. "Here I stand, I can do no other." :)

I need to pray about you first
Here is something to pray about.

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

:)

Matthew 27:1
And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

Not sure what your goal is to discredit the different KJV Bibles but I will trust in the Lord and how he sends me to Scriptures and Chapters exactly when I need them, or others need them.

Job 32: 7 I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.
8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

John 8: 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

Sometimes it is better to not answer...I am always ready to give an answer to why I have hope. I tend to be careful with people that want to argue.
2 Timothy 2:23But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

While man has had his hands all over everything including the Bible , I will trust what He placed in my hands at the call...Peace to you

What Bible do you read and why ???
I will answer your question if you will honestly promise to answer mine. Deal?
Oh, I hope he'll answer you, TCassidy, because I want to know the answer to his question, too! (You're the first person in a long time to come around who really seems to know the "formation" of the English Bible (at least the KJV), so I'm hoping to learn some stuff here.)

Great! :)

Here are the first questions I asked earlier in this thread:

#1. Which KJV is the preserved word of God in English? The 1611 1st edition 1st printing or 1611 1st edition 2nd printing (they are different)? The 1613 edition? The 1629 edition? The 1638 edition? The 1762 edition? The 1769 edition? The 1873 edition? All are different, and as the KJVO mantra goes, "Things that are different are not the same."

#2. There are over 1100 differences between the KJV of 1611 and the 1769 edition that most people who use a KJV use today. Even the KJVO apologist, D.A. Waite, says there are 136 "changes of substance" which change the meaning of the text. So, if the current 1769 KJV is the "preserved word of God in English" doesn't that mean the 1611 is not the "preserved word of God in English?"

#3. What is the basis for your assertion that the KJV is the ONLY (the "O" in KJVO) preserved word of God in English?

And last but certainly not least:

What criteria do you use to determine if the wording is correct?

Not sure what your goal is to discredit the different KJV Bibles
My goal is not to discredit the KJV. I consider it a valuable, venerable, and very good English bible version.
I tend to be careful with people that want to argue.
Who wants to argue? I started this with the admonition: "Hopefully we will be able to have an honest and mature discussion on English bible translations and how best to evaluate their relative merits, or lack thereof."

But foolish and unlearned questions
Do you think I and my questions are foolish and unlearned? If so, on what do you base that opinion?

Still hoping and praying for an honest and mature discussion with Christian brothers.

No, it is not true. Furthermore, it is willfully deceptive, as I shall now demonstrate.

First, the facts... The King James Bible contains 791,328 words. Since the first King James Bible rolled off the press in 1611 to the King James Bible you buy off the shelf today, there have been - are you ready - there have been a grand total of 421 word changes! That's it!

Changes to the KJV since 1611: An Illustration

The criteria I use is God for instance , He has shown me it is not the Old and New Testament but the beginning and the end, one story. He has kept me out of the middle part of Revelation and Songs of Solomon.

I know nothing of you except when I prayed that came. I enjoy good conversation and challenges we learn from them. We have to be careful not to assume because of age or worldly education we know everything, that is what that verse means . Jesus got the most upset with that type of behavior and if God has you in some other Bible version I am to not question as you are not to question where He has me, as long as the main things are clear as Pastor Begg would say...

Would you mind citing every single 'difference' in this thread please. I want all 1100 [+], and not 1099.

I want the specific and cited evidence of the "1100" [+] 'differences' in this thread please. If all we are going to do is posts links, I can post multitudes of them as well.

Here is the conversation I had with TCassidy at Baptist Board -

Thanks for sharing I will argue with no one on this and I ask God to show me anything He wants before I read it . If we spent more time reading it and asking God to reveal and less time dissecting it or trying to sway this or that we might not be so divided...but satan is very good at what he does .
