JUDGEMENT TIME AND THE INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT - ARE YOU READY?

PART 1

Who will be judged?

PSALMS 7:11 [11], God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

ECCLESIASTES 3:17 [17], I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

ROMANS 14:10 [10], But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:10 [10] For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

ACT 10:42 [42], And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick [living] and dead.

2 TIMOTHY 4:1 [1], I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick [living] and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

HEBREWS 9:27 [27], And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

HEBREWS 12:23 [23], To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

................

CONCLUSION: Everyone, both the righteous and wicked, the living and dead, will be judged.

................

What will be the standard of Judgment?

1 JOHN 3:4-6 [4], Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. [5], And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. [6] Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

JAMES 2:8-12 [9], But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. [10], For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. [11], For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if you commit no adultery, yet if you kill, you are become a transgressor of the law.
[12], So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. If you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well:

ECCLESIASTES 12:13-14 [13], Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. [14] For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

1 JOHN 2:3-5 [3], And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.[4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.[5] But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

ROMANS 3:20 [20], Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

ROMANS 7:7 [7], What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. No, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, You shall not covet.

1 CORINTIANS 5:10 [10], For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he has done, whether it be good or bad.

ROMANS 2:12[12], For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law

................

CONCLUSION: The 10 commandments of God are the standard of judgment.

................

Who is judged first, the righteous or the wicked?

1 PETER 4:17 [17], For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

1 TIMOTHY 5:24 [24], Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

1 TIMOTHY 5:25 [25], Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.

................

CONCLUSION: The righteous believers are judged first and rewarded, and then later the wicked are sentenced and condemned.

................

Who is the Judge?

The courtroom in Daniel:

DANIEL 7:9 [9], I beheld till the thrones were cast down [set in place], and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

DANIEL 7:10 [10], A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: ...

A similar scene in Revelation:

REVELATION 4:2 [2], And immediately I was in the spirit; and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

REVELATION 4:3 [3], And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

REVELATION 5:6 [6], And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

REVELATION 5:7 [7], And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

REVELATION 5:11 [11], And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

................

CONCLUSION: The Ancient of Days (God the Father). Jesus is the Lamb who takes the book from the hand of Father on the throne.

JUDGEMENT TIME AND THE INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT - ARE YOU READY?

PART 2

Who is our Advocate (Defense Attorney) in the Judgment of the professed Saints?

HEBREWS 9:24 [24], For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God [the Father] for us:

1 JOHN 2:1 [1], My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1 JOHN 2:2 [2], And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

................

CONCLUSION: Jesus Christ is our Defense Attorney before God the Father.

................

Who is the Accuser (Prosecuting Attorney) of the professed Saints?

REVELATION 12:9 [9], And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

REVELATION 12:10 [10], And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

................

CONCLUSION: Satan is the Accuser (Prosecuting Attorney).

................

How will evidence be given in the Judgment of the professed Saints?

DANIEL 7:10 ... the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

Mal 3:16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
Mal 3:17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

EXODUS 32:33 [33], And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

HEBREWS 12:1 [1], Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

REVELATION 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

REVELATION 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

REVELATION 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

................

CONCLUSION: The record books of heaven on the professed saints will be opened in evidence before the court: the Lamb's book of life, and the book of remembrance of their deeds in service to the Lord, faithfully recorded by witnessing angels. The book with 7 seals in Revelation chapters 5 thru 8 is the Lamb's book of life (Phil. 4:3, Rev. 3:5, 13:8, 17:8, 20:12,15, 21:27, 22:19). It is the last will and testament of Jesus Christ (Heb. 9:14-17), the new covenant, that lists those who will inherit eternal life and the kingdom of God. When the reading of the Lamb's book of life ends, probation for humanity has come to a close, as all those who inherit have been identified.

God does not need to keep books for Himself, but rather they are kept for others who do not have His omniscience. These books are available to the heavenly hosts in the court for their investigation, that they may know that God is just.

................

What events follow the beginning of the Investigative Judgment of the professed people of God?

DANIEL 7:10 [10], ... the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

DANIEL 7:11 [11], I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

DANIEL 7:12 [12], As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

DANIEL 7:13 [13], I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

DANIEL 7:14 [14], And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

2 THESSOLINIANS 2:8 [8], And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

................

CONCLUSION: In Daniel 7 the destruction of the little horn power comes after the opening of the books for the judgment of the Saints. So the books are opened for investigation, and judgment begins before the Second Advent, which is when the little horn / antichrist will be consumed. This judgment then is rightly called a Pre-advent Investigative Judgment. The kingdom parable of the wedding of the King's Son in Matt 22:1-13 illustrates this clearly when the King examines the wedding guests for the garment that He provided. Those not wearing the wedding garment are not permitted to attend the wedding supper, and are cast into outer darkness instead. This parable refers to the wedding supper of the Lamb, and the garment is Christ's righteousness, which is provided to those with faith. This examination, or judgment for fitness to attend the wedding supper, precedes the second coming, which is when the goats will be separated from the sheep.

................

Is there a specific day set for the revelation of God's judgment?

ACT 17:31 [31], Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

ROMANS 2:5 [5], But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

ROMANS 2:16 [16], In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

................

CONCLUSION: A day has indeed been appointed for the judgment of God to be revealed.

................

When is that day of judgment, when the Saints of God are judged righteous and rewarded by inheriting the Kingdom of God forever?

MATTHEW 25:31 [31], When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

MATTHEW 25:32 [32], And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

MATTHEW 25:33 [33], And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

MATTHEW 25:34 [34], Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

JOHN 6:39 [39], And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

ACT 3:19 [19], Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

ACT 3:20 [20], And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

2 TIMOTHY 4:1 [1], I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick [living] and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

REVELATION 11:18 [18], And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

REVELATION 14:6 [6], And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

REVELATION 14:7 [7], Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

*Note; This warning that the hour of judgment is come; precedes the second coming, and warns those living that their judgment is underway, but will soon come to a close.

................

CONCLUSION: The Saints will have been judged righteous before the second coming of Jesus (Mat 25:31), which is when the righteous (sheep) and the wicked (goats) will be forever separated, and God's judgment revealed, and His true Saints rewarded with eternal life.

JUDGEMENT TIME AND THE INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT - ARE YOU READY?

PART 3

What is the fate of the living wicked at the second coming of Jesus Christ?

MATTHEW 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

MATTHEW 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

MATTHEW 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

MATTHEW 13:49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
Mat 13:50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

REVELATION 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse (Jesus), which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

................

CONCLUSIONS: At the second coming of Jesus the living wicked will all be slain.

................

Will anyone's fate be changed after the Pre-advent Investigative Judgment of the Saints and the second coming of Jesus Christ?

REVELATION 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

REVELATION 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

................

CONCLUSIONS: Everyone's fate will have been decided by the court of heaven before the second coming of Jesus, and nothing will change the verdict after the Pre-advent Investigative Judgment of the Saints has concluded (the close of probation). While only the books regarding the Saints of God have been examined in the Pre-advent Investigative Judgment, the wicked stand condemned by not having sought the defense of the righteousness of Jesus Christ, so their sins are not covered by Christ's righteousness, and they must bear responsibility for their own sins.

................

What is the reward of the faithful and righteous Saints of God?

REVELATION 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

JOHN 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

JOHN 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

JOHN 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

ROMANS 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

................

CONCLUSIONS: The Saints of God will be rewarded with access to the tree of life, and by eating the fruit thereof, they will live forever. (The wicked, who will never be given access to the tree of life, will be denied eternal life, so they must perish.)

................

Who will judge the wicked?

PSALMS 149:5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

PSALMS 149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;

PSALMS 149:7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

PSALMS 149:8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

PSALMS 149:9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.

DANIEL 7:22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

MATTHEW 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

1 CORINTHIANS 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

................

CONCLUSION: The judgment of the wicked will be given to the Saints of God for their examination and ratification.

................

When will the judgment of the wicked by the Saints occur?

JOHN 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

JOHN 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

REVELATION 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

REVELATION 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

REVELATION 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

................

CONCLUSIONS: During the millennium the Saints will judge the wicked. The righteous dead will be resurrected at the beginning of the thousand years to participate in this judgment of the wicked, but the wicked will not be resurrected until after the millennium and the examination of the evidence against the wicked has been completed.

................

How will the evidence against the wicked be presented?

REVELATION 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

PSALMS 69:27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.

PSALMS 69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

JEREMIAH 2:22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.

JEREMIAH 17:13 O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.

................

CONCLUSIONS: The Saints during the millennium will have access to the heavenly books on the wicked and know why they are all lost. The wicked will not be found in the Lamb's book of life, but their wicked works will appear in the Book of Iniquity. At the conclusion of the millennium, the judgment of God the Father will be shown to have been fair and just, and so it will be affirmed by the Saints. All that will remain to be done is to execute (carry out) the judgment (sentence) of the court upon the wicked. This is the Executive judgment.

JUDGEMENT TIME AND THE INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT - ARE YOU READY?

PART 4

What happens at the conclusion of the Investigative Judgment of the wicked by the Saints?

REVELATION 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

REVELATION 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

REVELATION 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

REVELATION 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

REVELATION 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

REVELATION 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

................

CONCLUSIONS: At the end of the 1000 years, the wicked will all be resurrected, and will be persuaded by Satan to attack the New Jerusalem (camp of the saints), to take it by force, so that they might gain access to the tree of life and thereby live forever. Instead, they will face Executive Judgment before the great white throne of Jesus Christ.

................

Who will execute judgment on the wicked?

JUDE 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

JUDE 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

JOHN 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

JOHN 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

JOHN 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

................

CONCLUSION: Jesus Christ will execute the judgment of the heavenly court upon the wicked.

................

What is the penalty imposed on the wicked?

MALACHI 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

MALACHI 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

MALACHI 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

ROMANS 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

REVELATION 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

REVELATION 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

................

CONCLUSION: The penalty imposed on the wicked is eternal death.

................

What happens after the wicked are cast into the lake of fire and destroyed?

REVELATION 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

REVELATION 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

REVELATION 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

REVELATION 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

................

CONCLUSIONS: It is JUDGEMENT TIME when GOd will bring every secret thing into judgement whether good or evil. Will you be ready to meet God's Judgement? Judgement time is NOW! Seek the LORD while he may be found call upon him while he is near. Tomorrow may be too late.

................

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

The Law of God in Heaven:

The ARK of the Covenant HAS BEEN FOUND since AD 1844! The Sabbath Commandment [Ex. 20:8-11] is seen!

The Bible [KJB] doctrine is still called the Investigative Judgment by true Seventh-day Adventists:

The saints do not get to escape judgment, though they have an Advocate, Jesus Christ the Righteous:

Psalms 7:11 KJB - God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry [with the wicked] every day.

Psalms 37:33 KJB - The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

Ecclesiastes 3:17 KJB - I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 KJB - For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil.
This also links to the record books in Heaven - COL 2:14-17 The REAL truth from God's Word

The investigative judgment is found in type and in prophecy throughout the whole of scripture [KJB]:

In Genesis 2 & 3, we see Eve being deceived into sin, though Adam was warned, and He having warned her, and Adam following in sin, and then "they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day", and God ['Jesus'] investigates, inquiring and asking questions [Genesis 3:9-19; not that God doesn't know, but it is for the benefit of the angels and Adam/Eve and us], having already warned man of the sentence for sin [Genesis 2:17], and then God carries out sentence, but also gives hope [Genesis 3:15].

In Genesis 4, we see Cain and Abel, which both claimed to worship God, yet one was a son of that wicked one, satan. When Abel was killed by Cain, God came down and asked/inquired/investigated of Cain, before sentence was carried out.

In Genesis 6-9, we see that the world was becoming wicked, and while many claimed to follow God, they were already inter-marrying with the children of Cain. God looks upon the world in investigation, before execution of Judgment by the Flood.

In Genesis 10-11, we see that the people again rebelled, and God came down to see and look and investigate, before the execution of Judgment in the separation of the languages.

In Genesis 17-19, we see that God had delivered the people of Lot and Sodom, and yet Sodom did not truly repent, and went further in rebellion, and God came down to see/investigate/judge before execution of Judgment. ...etc...

In Leviticus 16 & 23, we see that Israel, and all that claimed to follow God, was to enter into the time of the typical Day of Atonement, wherein the Priest bore into the Sanctuary, upon the Breast plate of Judgment the people, represented by the stones. Anyone found not to be in harmony with God, in true repentance, was to be cut off at the end of it.

In 1 Kings 3, we see Solomon [type of Christ] having an investigation between two persons [women] over a dead Child [Christ], and a living Child [Christ] to see who really loved the Child. Solomon investigates in a judgment setting upon His throne, and gives a test, and a sentence testing the loyalty of the True mother [true Church, worshippers] and the corruption of heart of the false mother [false church, worshippers].

In Ezra 2, we see an investigative judgment in type:

Ezra 2:61 KJB - And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name:

Ezra 2:62 KJB - These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

Ezra 2:63 KJB - And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.

All of those priests coming back from the captivity of Babylon, had to be able to shew themselves by lineage, and had to pass through an investigation, to continue in their role as priests of God. Christians are kings and priests, a royal priesthood, and we have come out of the captivity. This is seen throughout the whole of scripture [KJB]:

The Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation reveal in type and in Prophecy this great end-time Investigative Judgment, and in Exodus 28:15,29,30 KJB we see the breastplate upon the Highpriest, is called “the breastplate of judgment”.

In Daniel 7, we see God the Father sitting in judgment, with the books of records being opened, and the angels ministering and searching the records, with Jesus present.

In Daniel 12, we see Michael/Jesus standing up, after the searching of the record books of Heaven, and the book of Lifeof the Lamb have been searched and read

In Zechariah 3, we see an investigative judgment, taking place in the Most Holy Place on the day of atonement, with Joshua the High priest.

In Malachi 3, we see God sitting as a refiner, in judgment over his children.

In the Gospels, Jesus himself came to see/investigate/judge Israel, before the execution of Judgment.

In the Gospels, the disciples themselves were sifted, and we can even see this futher with Peter in the courtyard of the Highpriest, with Jesus in the upper room, and so on.

In Matthew 18, we see God taking account of his servants, who had at one point received forgiveness, but later had it revoked.

In Romans 2:13-16, we read of the future judgment of all men, including their secrets by Jesus

In 2 Corinthians 5:10, we read of all having to appear before the judgment seat of Christ

In Hebrews 9, we see this judgment was to begin with the dead, in the time of judgment.

In 1 Peter 4, we see that God, at the time of Peter, was “ready” to judge, and would begin at the time specified in Daniel and in Leviticus 16 & 23.

In Jude 1:15, we read of Jesus second advent to render and to “execute judgment” that was determined beforehand in the investigation.

In Revelation 3:10, 17:12, we see a specific testing of the living professing, that comes after the dead professed [Hebrews 9:27]

In Revelation 11, we see that the very Church, the Temple of God, was to be measured, sometime after the 1,260 years of Daniel.

In Revelation 14, we see the very first Angel's message declare that the time of judgment had begun, and was going forward while the Everlasting Gospel was still being preached.

… and so on.

Notice, that when the Ancient of Days [the person of the Father] sat, multiple thrones were also placed, wherein the angels [which 10,000 etc surrounded Him] also sat, and books were opened. This judgment is for the angels to look into, because they cannot read the human heart as God can, and thus they need to see for themselves that God's judgments were right on who is to be let into a place without sin [Heaven]. The timing of the sequence in Daniel 7 [as shown in context and in chiastic structure, etc] reveals that this phase of judgment takes place after the rise of Rome and its divisions, and before the second advent, and the kingdom come. It is unbreakable in its order. The judgment therein is even taking place while the little horn is still blaspheming on earth, before it is destroyed, before the number of the kingdom of Heaven is made up.

In Daniel 7 is in 4 main parts.

Daniel 7:1-14 KJB the vision of Daniel
Daniel 7:15-18 KJB the super summary of the whole vision by Gabriel [even vss 17,18]
Daniel 7:19-22 KJB Daniel asking about it again, and a specific
Daniel 7:23-28 KJB Gabriel, once more going over the whole in more detail

Thus Daniel, Gabriel, Daniel, Gabriel. Each portion intimately tied to the other, so that the timing thereof cannot be broken between each section.

Daniel 7:22 KJB - Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

Until [refers to the previous time portion in earlier verse, the leading up to 1844, thus the 1,260 years, 538-1798]

Ancient of Days came, and did sit [refers to 1844 until the close of probation]

judgment was given to the saints of the most High [refers to 1,000 years, see Rev 20:4, "given unto", see also Paul, know ye not that the saints will judge angels [fallen], the world [lost].]

and the time came [end of the 1,000 years, see Rev. 20, Isaiah 24, etc] that the saints posesses the kingdom [being New Heaven and New Earth]

In Ezekiel 1-9, shows the same, wherein a investigative judgment goes forward, and then execution of that judgment takes place after, beginning with the elders of the temple/sanctuary on down to the least.

A very important text to consider:

Proverbs 28:5 KJB - Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

Where is the Law of God in the True Ark, in the True Temple by which all are being judged?

Heaven:

The ARK of the Covenant HAS BEEN FOUND since AD 1844! The Sabbath Commandment [Ex. 20:8-11] is seen!

... for every man taking hold of God's word by faith -- for faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God -- can look up [rather than down here on earth, like the carnal mind does] by faith and see the Ten Commandments in The True Ark in the True Temple:

Psalms 19:1 KJB - To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Psalms 50:6 KJB - And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

Psalms 97:6 KJB - The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

Psalms 119:172 KJB - My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.

Colossians 3:2 KJB - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Context, the Ten Commandments [Exodus 20:1-17 KJB]:

Exodus 20:22 KJB - And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

1 Corinthians 15:48 KJB - As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

1 Corinthians 15:49 KJB - And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Philippians 3:19 KJB - Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Philippians 3:20 KJB - For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Colossians 3:1 KJB - If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:2 KJB - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
This was where Jesus' always had his mind/heart [John 3:12 KJB; constantly dwelling upon the Heavenly], on the perfect will [Psalms 40:8; Matthew 6:10; Luke 11:2, 22:42 KJB] of His Father:

John 3:12 KJB - If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

John 3:13 KJB - And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

Remembered sins [ie forgotten sins], are in a differing location than the recorded sins in the books of Heaven.

[Books of Heaven]

God has various "books" of records that are kept:

Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. Exodus 32:32 KJB

And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. Exodus 32:33 KJB

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Daniel 12:1 KJB

And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. Revelation 5:1 KJB

And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. Revelation 5:5 KJB

And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. Revelation 5:7 KJB

And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four [and] twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. Revelation 5:8 KJB

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; Revelation 5:9 KJB

And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and [with] other my fellowlabourers, whose names [are] in the book of life. Philippians 4:3 KJB

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Revelation 3:5 KJB

Revelation 17:8 KJB

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 20:12 KJB

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15 KJB

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. Revelation 21:27 KJB

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book. Revelation 22:19 KJB

Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. Psalms 69:28 KJB

But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, [and] doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked [man] doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. Ezekiel 18:24 KJB

[[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.]] Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Psalms 51:1 KJB

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Psalms 51:9 KJB

And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked [thee] to anger before the builders. Nehemiah 4:5 KJB

Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay [me]: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal [thus] with them in the time of thine anger. Jeremiah 18:23 KJB

Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. Psalms 109:14 KJB

Behold, [it is] written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, Isaiah 65:6 KJB

Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom. Isaiah 65:7 KJB

If the book is read, then the sin can be remembered.

For instance, a parable of sorts. I have a set of car keys. I want to keep them in a safe place. I write down a location that I store them in for safe keeping. Months go by and I cannot remember them. If I look in the book, can I remember?

Heaven has books of Record.
God has a mind.

They are two things, not one. One can refresh the other.

Forgiveness can be revoked, as cited earlier:

A person can indeed lose their salvation, as it is written in Leviticus 23; Deuteronomy 30; 1 Samuel 10 & 1 Chronicles 10; Jeremiah 17; Ezekiel 3 & 33, Matthew 12 & 18; Acts 4-5; 1 Corinthians 15; Hebrews 6 & 10; James 1; 2 Peter; Revelation 3 KJB etc, and so on. - [link]

ABSOLUTELY! Who can argue with the two edged sword of the WORD of GOD?

HEBREWS 4:12 [12], For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

It would be a brave man come judgement day.

ROMANS 3:4[4], God forbid: yes, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That you might be justified in your sayings, and might overcome when you are judged.

HEBREWS 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

HEBREWS 10:24, And let us consider one another to provoke to love and to good works:

HEBREWS 10:25, Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.

HEBREWS 10:26, For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,

HEBREWS 10:27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

HEBREWS 10:28, He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

HEBREWS 10:29, Of how much sorer punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done despite to the Spirit of grace?

HEBREWS 10:30, For we know him that has said, Vengeance belongs to me, I will recompense, said the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

HEBREWS 10:31, It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

...............

SIN is the problem and it is SIN and wherever it is found that will keep people out of God's KINGDOM at our LORD's return....

MATTHEW 7:12 Therefore all things whatever you would that men should do to you, do you even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

MATTHEW 7:13, Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

MATTHEW 7:14, Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there be that find it.

MATTHEW 7:15, Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

MATTHEW 7:16, You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

MATTHEW 7:17, Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.

MATTHEW 7:18, A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

MATTHEW 7:19, Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

MATTHEW 7:20, Why by their fruits you shall know them.

MATTHEW 7:21, Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.

MATTHEW 7:22, Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works?

MATTHEW 7:23, And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work SIN.

................

This is a very organized and informative study straight from the Holy Bible.

Howdy! Long time no see.

It is a lot of information together. I will have to go through this when I get some time. Looked over part of it so far.

Yes, it has been awhile, with a lot of water under the bridge, and yet the water continues to flow. :)

I also never seen it organized all together like this before, therefore, I am also digesting it. :)

Jesus said: 20 teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt28

Ellen White wrote: Those who are living upon the earth when the intercession of Christ shall cease in the sanctuary above, are to stand in the sight of a holy God without a mediator. Their robes must be spotless, their characters must be purified from sin by the blood of sprinkling. Through the grace of God and their own diligent effort, they must be conquerors in the battle with evil. While the investigative judgment is going forward in heaven, while the sins of penitent believers are being removed from the sanctuary, there is to be a special work of purification, of putting away of sin, among God’s people upon earth. This work is more clearly presented in the messages of Revelation 14. {LSMS 114.2}

The investigative judgement, Hiram Edson's save face excuse for the great disappointment. So, Jesus has been pouring over the books for over 150 years to see which of you Sabbath keepers, living or dead, have spotless robes. To have spotless robes one must have overcome sin and sin, according to the SDAs is the transgression of the 10 commandments. Jesus could, according to LGW and Ellen White, eliminate 98% of all who have lived on the Earth because they have sinned by not not observing the Seventh-day Sabbath and not confessing their sin of not keeping it. It stands to reason that since no man has ever truly kept the Sabbath that either a whole lot of confessing has taken place or the sins of not truly keeping the day have gone unconfest. And what about repeated sin. Every week Sabbath triers repeat the same old sins.

Ellen White wrote:
It is a solemn statement that I make to the church, that not one in twenty whose names are registered upon the church books are prepared to close their earthly history, and would be as verily without God and without hope in the world as the common sinner. They are professedly serving God, but they are more earnestly serving mammon. This half-and-half work is a constant denying of Christ, rather than a confessing of Christ. So many have brought into the church their own unsubdued spirit, unrefined; their spiritual taste is perverted by their own immoral, debasing corruptions, symbolizing the world in spirit, in heart, in purpose, confirming themselves in lustful practices, and are full of deception through and through in their professed Christian life. Living as sinners, claiming to be Christians! Those who claim to be Christians and will confess Christ should come out from among them and touch not the unclean thing, and be separate.... {ChS 41.1}

Less than one in twenty SDAs were ready back when Ellen wrote that statement. She also wrote that man is growing weaker (man has physically grown stronger since she wrote that, so she must have meant mentally) which would indicate even less are ready today.

For the Savior of mankind to have to sit in a room pouring over books to cull out all who do not meet what SDAs claim to be what constitutes perfection for over one hundred and fifty years (since 1844) would have to be the most boring thing that could be assigned. God created the Earth and all that He placed in it in 6 days yet poor Jesus is stuck in that compartment for who knows how much longer.

“At the time appointed for the judgment—the close of the 2300 days, in 1844—began the work of investigation and blotting out of sins. All who have ever taken upon themselves the name of Christ must pass its searching scrutiny. Both the living and the dead are to be judged "out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Sins that have not been repented of and forsaken will not be pardoned and blotted out of the books of record, but will stand to witness against the sinner in the day of God” (GC 486).

Readers, please do not fear and tremble because the SDAs have presented the IJ as a truth, because the book of Hebrews tell us the real truth. Jesus is not in some compartment counting heads, he is exalted and is sitting at the right hand of the Father in the Most Holy Place:
Hebrews 1:3
who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the righthand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

Hebrews 10:12
but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Hebrews 12:2
looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the righthand of the throne of God.

CONCLUSION: Everyone, both the righteous and wicked, the living and dead, will be judged.

Agreed

Who is judged first, the righteous or the wicked?

1 PETER 4:17 [17], For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
In context he is speaking of the suffering the Christians were doing which showed forth their faith. They were suffering judgment at the hands of men, but would entrust themselves to their Creator.

16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

1 TIMOTHY 5:24 [24], Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

1 TIMOTHY 5:24 [24], Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

This indicates that some men's sins are obvious, and are open to being known even before the judgment. But some men's follow after to the judgment, and are not known until then.

It doesn't say anything about the righteous being judged first. In this case both have their sins going to the judgment, just one runs ahead and is obvious because of their actions.

1 TIMOTHY 5:25 [25], Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.

1 TIMOTHY 5:25 [25], Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.

This is the flip-side of that. Some peoples good works are manifest to all before hand. But the ones that are not now manifest to everyone will not stay hidden at the judgment.

Again this is not about timeing of righteous being judged first, and then the wicked.

Some peoples sins are obvious ahead of time. Some are only revealed at the judgment.

Some people's good deeds are obvious ahead of time. Some are only revealed in the judgment.

If you could clarify the identity of the horn and the identity of the beast.

DANIEL 7:11 [11], I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

If you could clarify who you think these beasts are and how they have their dominion taken away.

DANIEL 7:12 [12], As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

Do you see this appearance happening at the second coming then? That was the impression I got, but wanted to make sure.

Indeed then even with v15 Paul is making a distingtion here between suffereing as someone who does not obey the gospel (breaking God's Commandments; murderer; theif or evil doer) and suffering as a Christian or someone who believes the gospel v16 (for the cause of Christ). Then in v17 giving the reason for the pervious scriptures; For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God and if it first begins with us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

So using the scripture in v17 is indeed in context to the topic of study which is Judgement must begin with the house of God.

The Greek word 1 Peter 4:17 for Judgment is ρίμα; krima; kree'-mah; From G2917; a decision (the function or the effect, for or against [" crime" ]): - avenge, condemned, condemnation, damnation, + go to law, judgment.

This is different from receiving judgment (penalty) 2920 κρίσις; krisis; kree'-sis;
(Subjectively or objectively, for or against); by extension a tribunal ; by implication justice (specifically divine law): - accusation, condemnation, damnation, judgment.

The implication of the proceeding verses above is also the testing or trials of those who profess to follow the gospel through trials to determine if they are following God or not following God. In line with the rest of the OP showing the time of the investigative judgement and the opening of the books in Heaven ties in very nicely with the scriptures provided in Daniel and Revelations.

Please forgive me with the commentaries today. Just thought this was interesting.

Meyer's NT Commentary
ὅτι ὁ καιρὸς τοῦ ἄρξασθαι τὸ κρίμα] Luther’s translation: “it is time,” is inexact. The article before καιρός must not be overlooked; thus: “for it is the time of the beginning of the judgment, that is, in which the judgment is beginning;” ἐστί is to be supplied; the genitive is directly dependent on ὁ καιρός (cf. Luke 1:57), and not “on καιρός taken out of the subject, ὁ καιρός” (Hofmann). By κρίμα is to be understood the definite judgment (τό), that is, the final judgment, which Peter, however, here thinks of, not in its last decisive act, but in its gradual development. It begins with the Christians (Matthew 24:9 ff.) in the refining fire of affliction, 1 Peter 4:12, and is completed in the sentence of condemnation pronounced on the unbelieving world at the advent of Christ. In opposition to the apostle’s manner of expressing himself, Hofmann maintains that reference is here made only to the judgment of the unbelieving world, the beginning of which Peter recognised in the fact that God permitted it to persecute the Christians, to do unto them that which makes itself ripe for judgment(!). ἀπὸ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ Θεοῦ] ἀπό is here pregnant: the judgment takes place first in the οἶκ. τοῦ Θεοῦ: thence it proceeds further on; with the construction ἄρχεσθαι ἀπό, cf. Acts 1:22; Acts 8:35; Acts 10:37.[259] οἶκος τοῦ Θεοῦ is the church of believers; 1 Timothy 3:15 (chap. 1 Peter 2:5, οἶκος πνευματικός).

Again this is not about timeing of righteous being judged first, and then the wicked.

Some peoples sins are obvious ahead of time. Some are only revealed at the judgment.

Some people's good deeds are obvious ahead of time. Some are only revealed in the judgment.

Yes indeed, I agree that the scripture application here can be read this way. However, this also has very nice links with 1 Peter 4:17 and the BOOK of DANIEL which links the investigative judgement to the cleansing of the Sanctuary from sin (God's people) so this is only a simple application applied here as meaning some mens sins go before hand to judgement and this judgement begins with the house of God.

Do you not believe the earlthy Sanctuary is a copy of the heavenly?

What is the shadow meaning of the Great day of atonement and connections with Daniel and Revelations?
