• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Too WRONG! Most of the RC dogma is NOT from the Bible, like Mary being sinless, where the Bible very clearly says that she "rejoiced in God my Saviour"! (Luke 1:47). If she were "sinless" why the need of a SAVIOUR?
I should think that with God in Her womb, she already IS "saved", don't you agree?

Thats what all this discussion is about!
The post of mine that you responded to was about Real Presence. Some of the posters believe in Transubstantiation but others believe (only) in Real Presence...and then you who believe in a representational view.

if the "pope" is proclaiming something that is considered as "heretical", then surely he cannot be infallible, as the RC church teaches?
IF...
That is indeed the issue before them...
Are you praying for them?
That would be a major crisis...

No, she was NOT "saved" because Jesus was in her womb. there is no Scripture warrant for this. She was not saved automatically, but confessed her need for a Saviour, which can only mean that she considered herself a SINNER! The RC church, and others, decided against the teaching of the Holy Bible, that she was sinless! I also read somewhere that some are deluded to think that she never died, and went directly to heaven! More speculative theology!

depends what he is saying? He may have seen the light and changed his mind on some of the erroneous teachings of the RC church! Which can't be a bad thing!

you still avoid Mary's own words. here they are:

"and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour" (from a RC Bible online, Luke - Chapter 1 - Bible - Catholic Online)

Why did Mary need a Saviour if she was "sinless"? I somehow doubt that I will a straight answer here, as the plain teaching of the Bible here goes against RC dogma!

He might be saying at last, that he needs to get himself saved! This then will be great news!

Is EO/RO dogma the same as RC?

I suggest a new forum.
Catholic Bashing.
Put it in the Recreational Forum!
We can start it together...
Effigetical burnings at the stake!
Real ones soon to follow!
A gala fest of hatred and vituperations...
With you and me as the notzo-innocents being sacrificed to the demon-gods...
It'll be great!
Straight out of the last Beattitude...

But enough of my optimism!

God bless you!

We have not been in Communion with the Latins for a thousand years...
The Latins were Orthodox for the first thousand years of Christianity...
Pope Leo of Rome was a Pillar of Orthodoxy...

Catholic Bashing.

how can some serious discussions/challenges to what one believes, whether it be Bible-based or not, be considered as "bashing"? The truth often does hurt and can indeed leave a person feeling bruised!

He IS Her Savior!
You seem to think that He is NOT YET Her Savior...

Arsenios

then Mary could not have been sinless! As someone sinless does not need a personal Saviour, which is exactly what she needed!

What is eternal/ lasting? "SPIRIT" (the unseen), which Jesus said of His Words "flesh and blood".

So the eternal, unchanging , Word of YHWH , being unseen, Spirit,
is literal , unless you mean by literal something physical and/or corruptible ?

Or better- SPIRIT is REAL, REALITY. Flesh and blood is temporary, passing away.
This is one of those topics you could argue with other Protestants also, since some believe in the Real Presence by whatever name, based on Scripture of course.

Everyone who is saved, whether living before or after the Incarnation, is saved by the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.
