Oh, you mean
if it is a literal city Yahweh means,
then it doesn't fit your ideas ?

You don't mean
that Scripture is in any way at fault nor contradictory.
Then for you. Or shall I say YOUR false rendering of the illustrative language of Bible prophecy. The contradiction is insurmountable. Although everyone in this thread tries.

Rev.21 is specific about no temple being there, thus pointing to the final new Jerusalem. So we're given specific differences between the Ezekiel and Revelation view because they are for two different times. The Ezekiel vision is the 'same' Jerusalem time and location as Revelation 22:14-15, which is the Millennial reign time...

Rev 22:14-15
14 Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
KJV

Those two verses are in the same timeframe, which is what timing? The wicked are living outside the gates of that beloved city, so we know it's not new heavens, and new earth timing yet. It has to be the "thousand years" timing of Rev.20 when Satan is locked up. Yet there it is, "the tree of life" manifested inside the gates of the city with only the saved having right to it, showing a separation between Christ's sheep and the goats during His future Millennial reign.
That’s not the problem. All the New Jerusalem prophecies taken together clearly paint a picture of the city being an illustration of The people of faith of all nations. That’s the easy part. Revelation 20 though is not and meant to decieve as in hearing they shall hear and not understand.
Those three chapters are prophecies of the age that was to follow the age of the four gentile empires. The age of promise.

Here is some:

DECEIVERS

Matthew: "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you, For many shall come in my name saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many" (24:4,5).

Mark: "And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you; For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many" (13:5,6).

Luke: "And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived; for many shall come in my name saying, I am Christ, and the time draweth near; go ye not therefore after them" (21:8).

Did such deceivers or false Christs arise and deceive many in those years before the destruction of Jerusalem? Yes.

According to Josephus, the noted Jewish historian, twelve years after our Saviour's death, a certain impostor named Theudas persuaded a great multitude to follow him to the river Jordan which he claimed would divide for their passage. At the time of Felix (who is mentioned in the book of Acts), the country of the Jews was filled with impostors who Felix had put to death EVERY DAY—a statement which indicates that there were "many" of such in those days.

An Egyptian who "pretended to be a prophet" gathered 30,000 men, claiming that he would show "how, at his command, the walls of Jerusalem would fall down."

Another deceiver was Simon, a sorcerer, who led people to believe he was the great power of God (See Acts 8). According to Irenaeus, Simon claimed to be the Son of God and creator of angels. Jerome says that he claimed to be the Word of God, the Almighty. Justin relates that he went to Rome and was acclaimed as a god by his magical powers.

Origen mentions a certain wonder-worker, Dositheus, who claimed he was the Christ foretold by Moses. Another deceiver in those days was Barchochebas who, according to Jerome, claimed to vomit flames. Bar-jesus is mentioned in Acts 13:6 as a sorcerer and false prophet. These are examples of the deceivers of whom history says there were "a great number," and of whom Jesus had prophesied that there would be "many."

WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS

Matthew: "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom" (24:6,7).

Mark: "And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled; for such things must needs be, but the end is not yet, For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom" (13:7, 8).

Luke: "But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified; for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by [immediately]. Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom (21:9,10).

We are told that when Jesus gave this prophecy, the Roman Empire was experiencing a general peace within its borders. Jesus explained to his disciples that they would be hearing of wars, rumors of wars, and commotions. And did they? Yes. Within a short time the Empire was filled with strife, insurrection, and wars.

Before the fall of Jerusalem, four Emperors came to violent deaths within the space of 18 months. According to the historian Suetonius (who lived during the latter part of the first century and the beginning of the second), Nero "drove a dagger into his throat.'' Galba was run down by horsemen. A soldier cut off his head and "thrusting his thumb into the mouth," carried the horrid trophy about. Otho "stabbed himself" in the breast. Vitellius was killed by slow torture and then "dragged by a hook into the Tiber." We can understand that such fate falling on the Emperors would naturally spread distress and insecurity through the Empire.

In the Annals of Tacitus, a Roman who wrote a history which covers the period prior to 70 A. D., we find such expressions as these: "Disturbances in Germany," "commotions in Africa," "commotions in Thrace," "insurrections in Gaul," "intrigues among the Parthians," "the war in Britain," "war in Armenia."

Among the Jews, the times became turbulent. In Seleucia, 50,000 Jews were killed. There was an uprising against them in Alexandria. In a battle between the Jews and Syrians in Caesarea, 20,000 were killed. During these times, Caligula ordered his statue placed in the temple at Jerusalem. The Jews refused to do this and lived in constant fear that the Emperor's armies would be sent into Palestine. This fear became so real that some of them did not even bother to till their fields.

But though there would be wars, rumours of wars, and commotions, Jesus told his disciples: "See that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the END is not yet." The word "end" that is used here is not the same Greek word as in the expression "end of the world." As Barnes says, the end here referred to is "the end of the Jewish economy; the destruction of Jerusalem."

Wars, rumors of wars, and commotions were of a general nature. These things were not signs of the end; to the contrary, they were given to show that the end was NOT yet. None of these things would be the sign which would cause the disciples to flee into the mountains.

FAMINES, PESTILENCES, EARTHQUAKES

Matthew. "And there shall be famines and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places, all these are the beginning of sorrows (24:7,8).

Mark: "And there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles. These are the beginning of sorrows" (13:8).

Luke: "And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines and pestilences, and fearful sights" (21:11).

The Bible records that there was famine "throughout all the world...in the days of Claudius Caesar (Acts 11:28). Judea was especially hard hit by famine. "The disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea" (verse 29). Paul's instructions concerning this "collection [of fruit] for the saints" is recorded in First Corinthians 16:1-5; Rom. 15:25-28.

Historians such as Suetonius and others mention famine during those years. Tacitus speaks of a "failure in the crops, and a famine consequent thereupon." Eusebius also mentions famines during this time in Rome, Judea, and Greece. Yes, there were famines in those years before the fall of Jerusalem.

Along with famines, Jesus mentioned pestilence; that is, plagues, the spread of disease, epidemics. Famine and pestilence, of course, go hand in hand. When people do not have proper food or insufficient food, pestilence results. Suetonius wrote of "pestilence" at Rome in the days of Nero which was so severe that "within the space of one autumn there died no less than 30,000 persons." Josephus records that pestilences raged in Babylonia in A. D. 40. Tacitus tells of pestilences in Italy in A. D. 65. Yes, there were pestilences in those years before the destruction of Jerusalem.

During this period, Jesus said there would also be earthquakes in many places. Tacitus mentions earthquakes at Rome. He wrote that "Frequent earthquakes occurred, by which many houses were thrown down" and that "twelve populous cities of Asia fell in ruins from an earthquake."

Seneca, writing in the year 58 A. D., said: "How often have cities of Asia and Achaea fallen with one fatal shock! how many cities have been swallowed up in Syria! how many in Macedonia! how often has Cyprus been wasted by this calamity ! how often has Paphos become a ruin! News has often been brought us of the demolition of whole cities at once." He mentions the earthquake at Campania during the reign of Nero. In 60 A.D., Hierapous, Colosse, and Laodicea were overthrown—Laodicea being so self-sufficient that it recovered without the Imperial aid furnished other cities. In 63 A.D,, the city of Pompeii was greatly damaged by earthquake. There were earthquakes in Crete, Apamea, Smyrna, Miletus, Chios, Samos, and Judea. Earthquakes in divers places.

PERSECUTION AGAINST THE DISCIPLES

Matthew: "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.., And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold" (24:9-12).

Mark: "They shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten; and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony.., whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak but the Holy Ghost... And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake" (13:9-13).

Luke: "They shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. And it shall turn to you for a testimony...I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist...and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake" (21:12-17).

The book of Acts gives a complete account of how the disciples were persecuted in the very ways Jesus had predicted. Let us take, for example, Acts 4: "And they laid hands on them [Peter and John], and put them in prison" (verse 3). They were brought before "rulers" (verses 5-7). And it turned into an opportunity to testify. Peter explained that "there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (verse 12). They were given a mouth of wisdom which their adversaries could not gainsay, for the men of the council "marveled" (verse 13). They were then commanded "not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus" (verse 18). As Jesus had said, they were hated for his name's sake.

The same things are seen in Acts 5. Certain authorities "laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison" (verse 18). Later they were brought "before the council" (verse 27) and told to answer for continuing to teach in the name of Jesus (verse 28). Again they had opportunity to testify (verses 29-32). They were "beaten" (verse 40). As they departed from the "council", they rejoiced "that they were counted worthy to suffer for his name"(verse 41).

Or take Acts 6. There arose certain ones of the "synagogue" that disputed with Steven. "And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spoke" (verses 9,10). Persecution resulted and he was brought into the "council " and questioned (verse 12). Again there was the opportunity to testify, the words of that testimony being given in Acts 7. Stephen was killed for his stand (verses 54-60). Jesus had said that some of them would be killed.

Notice Acts 8. "There was a great persecution against the church." Christians were put in "prison", but the result was that the word was preached (verses 1-4).

In Acts 16, Paul and Silas were beaten and cast into "prison." But it turned into an opportunity to testify and the Philippian jailor and his family were converted as a result (verses 22-34). In Acts 21, persecution resulted in Paul being beaten, brought before rulers, before whom he testified (Acts 22). In Acts 22:19 we read that Christians were "imprisoned and beat in every Synagogue."

In Acts 24, Paul was brought before Felix, the governor, and testified. He was given a mouth of wisdom which his adversaries could not gainsay—though they obtained an orator to speak against him. Paul's words even made Felix to "tremble." In Acts 25 and 26, Paul was brought before king Agrippa, the chief captains, and the principal men of the city. He was given a mouth of wisdom, for Agrippa said to Paul, "Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian" (verse 28).

Jesus said the disciples would be afflicted, beaten, imprisoned; they would be hated for his name's sake and some would be killed; they would be brought before councils, rulers, and kings, for a testimony; they would be given a mouth of wisdom which their adversaries could not gainsay. Surely these things came to pass in those years—unmistakably fulfilled in every detail.

"And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many ...but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved" (Mt. 24:11,13). Peter, who was present when Jesus gave this prophecy (Mk. 13:3), later wrote about "false prophets" that had risen and of "many" that followed their pernicious ways (2 Peter 2). John, who also heard Jesus give this prophecy, recorded the fulfillment: "Many false prophets are gone out into the world" (l John 4:1). "Many deceivers are entered into the world" (2 John 7).

Paul also spoke of "false apostles, deceitful workers" (2 Cor. 11:13). He mentioned Hymenaeus and Philetus who taught false doctrines and overthrew the faith of some (2 Tim. 2:17, 18). By the time of his epistle to Titus, there were "many...deceivers ...who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not" (Titus 1:10, 11).

The waters of truth were muddied by betrayals, false prophets, iniquity, and the love of many waxing cold. "But he that shall endure [such things] until the end, the same shall be saved" (Mt. 24:13)—both now and hereafter. We understand "end" here in a general sense, for unlike the use of this word in verses 6 and 14, this reference does not have the definite article in the Greek text.

GOSPEL TO BE PREACHED TO THE NATIONS

"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then [not until then] shall the end come" (Mt. 24:14). Unless we take this verse clear out of its setting, "the end" in view here is the end or destruction which was to come upon Jerusalem and the temple. This was the question that Jesus was answering in the verses before, and the verses that follow are still speaking about Jerusalem and Judea. Jerusalem would be destroyed, but "first" the gospel would be preached unto all nations (Mk. 13:10).

It was a tremendous prophecy. Picture the scene. Here on the mount of Olives, Jesus was speaking these words to seemingly insignificant men. Who would have supposed that the names of these humble men would become known around the world and that even in our day—almost 2,000 years later—the seeds of truth that they planted would still be producing fruit? Who would have supposed that this unpopular gospel that Christ committed to these men would ever spread beyond that immediate area? Such a vast preaching program unto all nations seemed almost impossible of fulfillment. But it was fulfilled, and in a very real sense the gospel did go to all nations before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A. D..

On the day of Pentecost when the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit, there were present in Jerusalem "devout men, out of every nation under heaven" (Acts 2:5). They heard the gospel preached by Peter and 3,000 were converted that day. Many of these, no doubt, returned to their various countries and preached the gospel.

Later when persecution came against the church, the believers at Jerusalem were scattered and "went every where preaching the word", throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria (Acts 8:1,4). Philip took the message to the city of Samaria with great results (verses 5-8). Later he was directed to a high ranking government official from Ethiopia who was gloriously converted (verses 26-40). It is believed that this man took the message to the continent of Africa and many were converted because of his influential testimony.

Peter took the message to the Gentiles at the house of Cornelius, an event that was a turning point in the missionary activities of the church (Acts 10, 11). The book of Acts gives a sketch of the mighty missionary work that advanced rapidly.

The message spread to Rome. By the time of Nero, the Christians had grown so numerous that they aroused the jealousy of the government. The story of the great fire in Rome in 64 A. D. —for which the Christians were falsely blamed—is well known. In writing to the Christians at Rome, Paul opens his epistle by saying, "Your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world" (Rom. 1:8), and his closing words talk about the gospel as having been "made known to all nations for the obedience of faith" (16:26).

Concerning even far away England, Newton says: "There is absolute certainty that Christianity was planted in this country in the days of the apostles, before the destruction of Jerusalem." Eusebius and also Theodoret inform us that the apostles preached the gospel in all the world and some of them "passed beyond the ocean to the Britannic isles."

By the time Paul wrote his letter to the Colossians, he could say: 'The gospel...is come unto you, as it is in all the world" (Col. 1:6). Likewise, in verse 23, he mentions '"the gospel which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven."

By 70 A. D., the gospel had gone forth to the world for a witness. No longer was God's message to man confined to one nation or race.

While I certainly appreciate your input. My article The End Of An Age
that I linked is way better and covers every single verse in all three accounts. Easier to read too. Here is one thing your author missed that is in my article. That word for "world" is only used 11 times in the New Testament and is a direct reference to the Roman Empire. As in Luke when it says the command went forth from Creaser that the whole world will be taxed, same word. Caesar didn't rule the world. The word for world as in the planet is used well over a hundred times. So that like all the other parts of the prophecy were fulfilled precisely. The whole Roman Empire heard the Gospel before the end of that age. The whole world as in China, The America's did not.

You've done an impressive job of presenting the unassailable historical evidence; thanks.

Although not stating such directly, I believe that Bro. Woodrow understood the meaning of "world" to be as you've described.

Beginning with Ezekiel 40 and ending with the last verse of Ezekiel 48, is covering from the time of Christ's 2nd coming all the way to the full Godhead returning to this earth to live with us forever (i.e., the new heavens and a new earth). It does not give the detail of God's great white throne judgment and lake of fire event; Christ's Revelation does. So both groups of Scripture are to be understood together about the future events upon this earth when Jesus returns, and how it will affect His Church, and all nations. Man's Dispensationalists ideas have nothing to do with it and is nothing but confusion.

The only dispensations from the time of Moses I see laid out in scripture as a whole verses "mans interpretation" of just a few scriptures on the subject are thus: Old convent age, New covenant age. Times of the gentiles, meaning the age or time period of the four gentile empires. Then the age that comes after those four gentile empires which is this age. Obviously the age of the four gentile empires started in the Old Covenant Age and extended into the New Covenant Age. I call the age that followed the age of the four gentile empires the age of promise. The age when the earthly promises of God made to all the generations of saints past that remained unfulfilled in their lifetimes start to come top pass in nations that meet the conditions. Which we have been seeing now for hundreds of years. This is a post I put on my Facebook page in an attempt to get people to read an article I wrote where I am basically playing the devils advocate to show the error of the dispensations you are declaring to be based in scripture.

Since people think the Bible is the Word of God and claims to predict the future. Why don't they think it's a dilemma that it did not predict the free world a few billion people are enjoying? Back in Biblical days there was no such thing as freedom as we know it. Everyone was subjugated to the will of kings and emperors. There was no such thing as property rights outside of you are the property of someone else and they can do with you whatever they please. Half the children born died as children. The average life span was 40 years old. Today it is 80 and climbing. If they survived, you didn't get to raise your children as you saw fit. Most children didn't belong to parents anyway. Not only were all the peoples of all nations idolaters. Idolatry was imposed on them by the governments. All nations were enslaved and en-slavers. The most powerful men in the universe ran the government according to the words of blood soaked priests who "interpreted" the future by the way sacrificed animal entrails were scattered on the ground.
I mean one would think in a backdrop like that Christians would have real difficulty with Bible prophecy that says the world will grow worse and worse leading to a "7 year tribulation" period. Worse than what? Could it have gotten worse? How could the Bible, read and revered quoted everyday by a billion Christians as a book that tells the future get it so wrong? Unlike back then which would get you put to death billions of people can practice their religion as they see fit. They can raise their children as they see fit. In half the nations of the world child mortality is under 10% rather than 50% +. Billions live without fear of invasion by marauding armies. There is almost no such thing as kings and emperors or legal human slavery. Government exists to protect your property rather than take it. I mean as far a prophecy is concerned we might as well just throw those Bibles in the trashcan.........unless. Its not the Bibles that have it wrong but the people that are reading and teaching from them.
This is no joke. How on earth can a billion Christians, the best and the brightest among us get it so wrong and not see all the prophecy in the Bible that spoke of an age like this? What on earth do they think the good news about the Kingdom of God was talking about? There is triple the amount of prophecy in the Bible that predicts exactly what is happening in the world in comparison to end time prophecy. Prophecy that speaks of an age of promise where the earthly promises of God made to the saints since the beginning of time, that went unfulfilled in all their generations would begin to come to pass. My friends. It would seem we have a nation, a generation of false teachers and prophets who cannot see the Word of God as the believe they can. The time has come to anoint the eyes of a blind nation with oil, that they may see. Best place to start? The end of the book. Read it an weep, with joy, over what God has done.

The part in bold especially, is simply man's doctrine, and is not of God. Instead... it is a declaration of a FALSE KINGDOM which Satan's servants on earth today are preparing for him. Jesus said His Kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36), and that means of this 'present' world. In the world to come is when Jesus Christ will return and take over ALL KINGDOMS of this present world.

Our Heavenly Father is allowing that FALSE KINGDOM to be setup on earth today which some call a "one world government" or "New World Order". It will be a TEMPORARY KINGDOM, and not the TRUE KINGDOM OF GOD which will be setup in its place in final.

Yes, really.

John 18:36
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if My kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is My kingdom not from hence.
KJV

If Jesus' Kingdom was of this 'present' world, then His disciples would have fought to prevent His crucifixion. This present world was given to Satan (Luke 4:5-7). That is why man's attempt at Utopia will always fail. God will not allow it to happen, even when those of Satan's servants will have thought they had succeeded in creating it.

Zeph 3:8
8 Therefore wait ye upon Me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for My determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them Mine indignation, even all My fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.

KJV

It's coming. The gathering of all nations today to try and create a copy of His future Eternal Kingdom on earth for this present world is simply a plan the deceived are being led to follow by Satan himself, whom God controls. That is how God will fulfill this Zephaniah 3:8 prophecy for the end of this world.

Have you not understood that Satan is just a 'tool', and can only do what our Heavenly Father allows? God is merely using him as a punishing rod upon the wicked and rebellious, even the rebellious of His people. This final one world kingdom they are creating on earth today is simply part of that punishing rod, because the deceived are being prepared to worship 'their' "king of the world" who the faithful among us in Christ Jesus are forewarned to not worship.

Lol. You quote one verse out of hundreds about the Kingdom of God and give me its complete definition based on your reading of that one verse. Well i’ll See your one verse and raise you two.
From memory. The Kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a people who will bring forth its fruits.... and From the time of John the Baptist until now the Kingdom God suffers violence and the violent take it by force.

Why don't they think it's a dilemma that it did not predict the free world a few billion people are enjoying? Back in Biblical days there was no such thing as freedom as we know it.
The billions today are more slaves than the people of Jesus /Biblical days.
Things are getting worse daily , every day, culminating in the beast's system ...
Simple.

Oh, not so simple: "freedom as we know it"..... is not freedom at all. sorry.

Let's see now. When did this begin?

It began right after our Lord Jesus' death and resurrection, when He sent disciples to the nations to preach The Gospel Good News. The establishing of The Gospel took hold first primarily in the western nations, Britain becoming one of the first nations to accept The Gospel as a people. After the Jews in Judea refused our Lord Jesus The Gospel was then sent to the Gentiles, AND... to the children of Israel (scattered twelve tribes of course), and... to the kings (Acts 9). The western Christian nations became the fulfillment of the Genesis 48 prophecy that Ephraim would become "a multitude of nations", and that his brother Manasseh also would become "great".

And prior to WWII, truly the Christian nations were many, with kings and queens in Christ Jesus, sitting upon thrones. Then Satan's children began to break many of those nations up, even murdering its kings and queens (French Revolution, Russian Revolution, etc.). And now what do we have? We have the sons of Bel in high positions declaring no such thing as Christian nations! Christianity is HATED by the majority of nations and its leaders today, if you haven't noticed. The one world kingdom trying to be setup today is pushing another god that Christianity does not have.

May I suggest a viewing of the movie Apocolypto by Mel Gibson for a picture that’s worth a thousand words on what the world was like without any influence from the Gospel, the Word or the government of God.

I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.
Psalm 22:26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. 27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the families of the nations shall worship before you. 28 For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations.
Isaiah 60: 3 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. 4 Lift up your eyes all around, and see; they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried on the hip. 5 Then you shall see and be radiant; your heart shall thrill and exult, because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you. (ESV)
Isaiah 49:6 He says: “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”...8 Thus said the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you: and I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
Isaiah 11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that said to Zion, Your God reigns! ..... 10 The LORD has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.... 13 Behold, my servant (the messiah) shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. 14 As many were astonished at you; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: 15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
Isaiah 42:Behold my servant, (the messiah) whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit on him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. 2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment to truth. 4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. 5 Thus said God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; he that gives breath to the people on it, and spirit to them that walk therein: 6 I the LORD have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; 7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
Psalm 72:2 He shall judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with judgment. 3 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness. 4 He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor. 5 They shall fear you as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations. 6 He shall come down like rain on the mown grass: as showers that water the earth. 7 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endures. 8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth. 9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust. 10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. 11 Yes, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him. 12 For he shall deliver the needy when he cries; the poor also, and him that has no helper. 13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy. 14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight. 15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised. 16 There shall be an handful of corn in the earth on the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth. 17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed. 18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only does wondrous things. 19 And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
Psalm 67: 1 God be merciful to us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine on us; Selah. 2 That your way may be known on earth, your saving health among all nations. 3 Let the people praise you, O God; let all the people praise you. 4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for you shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations on earth. Selah. 5 Let the people praise you, O God; let all the people praise you. 6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
Psalm 82: 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for you shall inherit all nations.
Psalm 86: 9 All nations whom you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord; and shall glorify your name.
Isaiah 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come you, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. Please see a very concise New Testament interpretation of the illustrations used in Isaiah 2's wording
Isaiah 54 and 55 are directly speaking about the new Jerusalem.
Isaiah 54:1 Sing, O barren, you that did not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you that did not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, said the LORD. 2 Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of your habitations: spare not, lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes; 3 For you shall break forth on the right hand and on the left; and your descendants shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. 4 Fear not; for you shall not be ashamed: neither be you confounded; for you shall not be put to shame: for you shall forget the shame of your youth, and shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more. 5 For your Maker is your husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and your Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
Isaiah 55:3....I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. 4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. 5 Behold, you shall call a nation that you know not, and nations that knew not you shall run to you because of the LORD your God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he has glorified you. .....10 For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not thither, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. (The mountains and trees are typical Biblical illustrations of the nations.)13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
Isaiah 49:1 Listen, O isles, to me; and listen, you people, from far; The LORD has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother has he made mention of my name. 2 And he has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand has he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver has he hid me;..... 6 And he said, It is a light thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth. 7 Thus said the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose you. 8 Thus said the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you: and I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9 That you may say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Show yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. 10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that has mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. 11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted. 12 Behold, these shall come from far: and, see, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim. 13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD has comforted his people, and will have mercy on his afflicted. 14 But Zion said, The LORD has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me. 15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yes, they may forget, yet will I not forget you. 16 Behold, I have graven you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me. 17 Your children shall make haste; your destroyers and they that made you waste shall go forth of you. 18 Lift up your eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. As I live, said the LORD, you shall surely clothe you with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on you, as a bride does. 19 For your waste and your desolate places, and the land of your destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed you up shall be far away. 20 The children which you shall have, after you have lost the other, shall say again in your ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell. 21 Then shall you say in your heart, Who has begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who has brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been? 22 Thus said the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up my hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders. 23 And kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. 24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? 25 But thus said the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contends with you, and I will save your children. 26 And I will feed them that oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
Isaiah 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, (gentiles) that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keeps the Sabbath from polluting it, and takes hold of my covenant; (The New Covenant) 7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted on my altar; for my house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. (The house and temple of the Lord is his people.) 8 The Lord GOD, which gathers the outcasts of Israel said, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered to him.
The first part of Isaiah 61 is one of those widely known scriptures in the Bible because Jesus quoted it in the NT as speaking of himself. The OT rendition however also shows the eventual effects of Christ's ministry in the earth to the nations. Not the immediate effects mind you but the transformation that would begin to occur after the fall of the Roman Empire, 1453 A.D.
Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint to them that mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. 4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. 5 And strangers (Gentiles) shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. (Meaning people of all nations would be pastors and prophets working in the field of the Lord, the world, as ministers of the Gospel.) 6 But you shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: you shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall you boast yourselves. 7 For your shame you shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be to them. 8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. 9 And their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD has blessed. 10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. 11 For as the earth brings forth her bud, and as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth;so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. (Meaning, the Word of God will transform the nations. As it has been and will continue to.}
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen on you. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you. 3 Andthe Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. 4 Lift up your eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to you: your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side. 5 Then you shall see, and flow together, and your heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted to you, the wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you. (The "sea" is an illustration of the nations.)
Please keep in mind this is no where close to a complete list if these scriptures. Especially if you include the volumes of scripture written in code, using illustrations on the subject. Here are some additional articles that delve into the salvation of the nations.

Sanity on this is about the establishing AFTER our Lord Jesus has returned to take His throne, which is the earthly throne of His flesh father David. THAT is when there shall truly be universal peace on this earth between all peoples and nations.

Thus there is a difference between our Lord Jesus establishing His Church, which is spiritual in its most pristine reference that He established at His 1st coming, and His future Kingdom which He has promised to come, and but is not of this present world.

And thus we still have those gone in the way of Cain, joined with the radicals of Ishmael, who are supported by the radicals of Esau, still pushing doctrines of devils in order to create the FALSE KINGDOM on earth for the very end of this present world. Are those in possession of David's throne today aware of this or part of bringing it, and deceived? Yes, no doubt, as God has willed the setting of this final beast kingdom on earth for the end of this world.
Luke 17: 20-21
And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God does not come with observation, (visibly): Nor shall they say, Look here! or, look there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is inside you.

Luke 17:20-21 expresses a fundamental truth in the Bible. It is a revelatory scripture. One that is explains a great body of other scriptures, especially Bible prophecy. The cultural norm or viewpoint held by consensus in that time was that the kingdom of God would come in a visible form with the descendant of David sitting on a throne in the nation of Israel. In their minds he was to bring righteousness, justice, mercy, truth and peace to the earth through physical force. Whether that force be earthly, angelic or miraculous is irrelevant. The Son of David would be seated in Jerusalem, in the Middle East, as king to administer it. They got this viewpoint from scriptures like these and many others. What Jesus was doing was correcting that misconception. His answer to the formally educated leaders of that day brings us to an unfortunate reality of the last few generations. These verses of scripture although used by some for certain purposes are almost heartbreakingly ignored as to what they specifically imply. That there will never be a visible\physical government of God on the earth. I call them the most ignored verses in the New Testament. This due to the fact that 99% of today's pastors and teachers emphatically teach that some day there will be visible\physical government of God on earth.
Basically these verses contain two statements. The first corrects a false teaching or belief about certain, mostly prophetic scriptures about the government of God on earth. That it will not be visible\physical. The second, in a highly condensed form show how all those prophecies and promises will come to pass in the world. By way of the government of God being inside of people. Meaning God will work through and with people to change the world for the better. That reveals the problem that confronts our generation. The basic premise that the Pharisees believed is one and the same as most of our formally educated leaders and Bible teachers hold today. Since they believe that kingdom of God is indeed coming visibly. The full import of the second statement; "the Kingdom of God is inside of you." is being high jacked to teach things other than its original intent. Which is: The ancient world, the world that Jesus and his apostles walked in would be transformed because God and his government are inside of individuals. In fact in the proper time and season. So transformed that the hundreds of chapters of promise and prophecy would be able to be fulfilled in any nation that meets the conditions laid out in scripture.
Does the reader see the problem? If all those promises and prophecies abouta new heaven and earth are to come to pass because Jesus rides into town on a white horse with a sword in his hand to physically force righteousness on the world. How do his people ever grasp the true nature of the calling and personally develop, then strategize and labor in such a way that will naturally transform the world we live in? The answer is that they can't. If the true follower of Christ has been bewitched into thinking the world has and will grow worse and worse until Jesus comes. Or, if they have accepted teachings that say the only way all those promises and prophecies can come to pass is via a physical intervention by God to destroy evil and somehow miraculously impose goodness. Then why would they even so much as day dream about a calling, knowledge, preparations, strategies and miraculous empowerment from heaven to change it themselves? Without that knowledge the extent of their work would have to revolve around winning souls and "making disciples." Which one way or the other is the right thing to do. Without winning souls and making disciples nothing in God's Word can come to pass. A disciple is not just to learn how they should live though. They are supposed to learn what God's will is for the world. If they do not, they cannot
intelligently participate with God in that aspect of his will to transform it.

I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.
....

(The "sea" is an illustration of the nations.)
Please keep in mind this is no where close to a complete list if these scriptures. Especially if you include the volumes of scripture written in code, using illustrations on the subject. Here are some additional articles that delve into the salvation of the nations.

Not everything in those OT prophecies were fulfilled at Christ's 1st coming though. Much of what you quoted is about fulfillment at Christ's 2nd coming, especially the gathering of Jacob's seed, which also includes the ten lost tribes of Israel which were never known as Jews.

Those who only preach out of The New Testament will not know in what 'watch' we are in today. Apostle Peter told us to be mindful also of the prophets, as there is much Scripture in the prophets yet to be fulfilled today.

Luke 17: 20-21
And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God does not come with observation, (visibly): Nor shall they say, Look here! or, look there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is inside you.

Then let's all put on Indian guru gowns and become swamis, if that's all the kingdom of Christ is, just some eastern religious thought.

No, Christ's eternal Kingdom, is not only a spiritual kingdom, but also one that will have substance on this earth, because the meek are promised to inherit the earth. Are the meek already inheriting this earth? No, of course not. The central bankers that control the economies of the nations make sure the majority of peoples cannot get out from under their debt. Nations are still going broke because of those banking elites and their political lackeys. Murderers are still on the loose, wars are still going on, the poor are still with us, many are hungry, disease is still rampant. Only a lunatic would actually believe Christ's Kingdom to come is already manifest on earth today.
