  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did Paul consider himself a "sinner", are we supposed to think of ourselves as sinners...?

So Christ didn't pay those wages for us? We pay those wages?

Because if you believe that Christ paid those wages than it was done 2,000 years ago and we only accept the grace He gave us by His death and shed blood.

That is what you are saying, if we can loose it, Christ's blood is not enough.

If we can loose it because of our own sin, than Christ did not pay for them.

Christ paid for the sins of the whole world! But is everyone saved? NO! Why? The choices WE MAKE. Some just like to be irresponsible, and get away with it. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Those who commit willful sins do not love God. They love themselves. Who are they a slave to? Sin or righteousness. "6 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?" Romans 6:6

That doesn't answer what question I asked.

I said if we can loose our salvation to sin, then Christ did not pay for it all. If you put what we do or do not do into the equation than it is about us, not Christ.

So if it's us + Christ, then we earn our own salvation or at least a part of it.

You have no idea what that verse even means.

It is speaking about the saved (Christ's) versus the unsaved, not that saved people loose their salvation.

I was referring to your scriptures posted in post #591

I looked at the last three posts of yours and not one scripture. You do know what "scripture" is don't you? It's what you back up your doctrine with.

Maybe you didn’t notice that my responses were responses to another post which I challenged the relevancy of that scripture to the topic we were discussing.

That is how a reply works.

Do you have relevant scripture that proves your point or not. Otherwise why bring up a point.

No it isn't. It is answering the first verse. Shall we sin so grace can abound? GOD FORBID! It's giving the SAVED a warning, because they still have free will.

I respond with scriptures. Where are yours. If you question my doctrine, bring up a scripture that contradicts my doctrine; otherwise you just sound opinionated.

Your argument is that sin affects salvation. I don't see it and I have no idea how you can argue that from this verse.

Of course we don't go on sinning so grace can abound. So please give verses that affect salvation.

So you don't have a sound argument. The Bible wasn't written to prove negatives. It leads us in all correction, truth and instruction.

Talk to God if you think He should have authored it differently.

I've been giving verses. You give some that says sin does NOT affect salvation. You know - to back up your doctrine.

Slippery. But I'm not falling for it.

Can we stay focused.

Where does it talk about salvation? You are all over the place.

That was my point. Your verses do not prove anything about salvation.

If your verses proves your point they would stand, but talking about that we should not sin is not saying sin removes salvation.

You can’t make it say what it doesn’t say.

I wasn't talking about salvation, I was talking about cleansing from sin. Your past sins are forgiven. Where do YOU find your future sins are also forgiven? Prove it.

.
Scriptures, there are no Scriptures, they must have fallen through the cracks in the Doctrine of a Sinning Christian.

That unscriptural false doctrine for itching ears is my biggest concern for the lukewarm church of today. They are going to find themselves with Jesus saying to them, "I never knew you, you workers of iniquity." I'm surprised they want to gamble their souls without even searching the scriptures! Baffling!

I worry about those under the strong delusion that they don’t sin.

Most of us worry about the lukewarm church and the hearts and minds of people. When people can convince their mind, the heart follows.

I worry about those who willfully sin believing their past, present and future sins are forgiven. They are "workers of iniquity."

Why people believe that when they obviously can't find any scripture to support it, or they would post it, is also a sign of letting their teachers do all their thinking for them.

I don’t think your concerned for us. I think you like your bubble and are protecting your self.
