Hello. I've been terrified of being sent to hell for a very long time now.

I don't know why I am. I have a Bible that I take very careful care of. It has no rips or tears or anything. I always put God first before anything and anyone. I know and accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I believe in Him dying on the cross for all our sins. I accept that I sin and take full responsibility for it. I have asked for His forgiveness and totally feel He forgave me.

But what are the reasons I would be sent to hell? I have major anxiety about everything. It's truly really bothersome. So your answers will truly help reassure me, thank you. :D <3

Here's something Jesus said to you and me. You do not need to worry about verse 6 if you will listen and take in and follow the other verses! Rather, verse 6 is the warning if you don't do what He says.

1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other."

As you can see, you will need to hear/listen to His words, to keep them, as in verse 7... It can help to realize what He says to us is actually forever! --

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."

So, as you read through a gospel, you are reading words of eternal life! Nothing is as important in words here in this world as His.

Sanctification is supposed to follow on the heals of justification; not the other way round. Justification, and therefore salvation, is through faith in Christ.

Perhaps you did, and I'm saying you didn't or don't...

I was just saying what I knew about the whole "projection" thing, and when she said she was "projecting" it might have been her way of kind of apologizing or trying to explain, I don't know...?

Anyhow, see you around,

God Bless!

For the record, I was not projecting. Neither was I calling other people's posts hateful.

I do, however, know where the ignore button is. :)

I command that your nervous system and any other part of your body that is causing the pain to be restored to its normal function and that the pain go right now in the Name of Jesus. I curse the spirit of affliction and command it to depart from you.
Thank you so much Oscarr :)

Really o_o what about Hebrews 12:29 ?

If I'm not mistaken, that passage is in reference (and cross-referenced with Deut. 4:21-24) to idolatry and maintaining the covenant. It's not a threat of hell, but emphasis on God's displeasure towards the worship of idols.

The only way into Hell is voluntary.
You must refuse to Trust God.
That's the only way in.

PS Welcome to the forum, Brand New Member and first time poster.

What does it mean to "refuse" to trust God? It is very very easy to lose trust in this world. Your mortal life plays out pretty much exactly like God has abandoned you.

I'm just saying, He said, "If My words abide in you, and you in Me, ask what you will and it shall be done for you." This means that if you conform yourself to His will by giving your life to meditating on the scriptures, you will begin to know (there's that word Paul1149 used again) and pray His will, and as a result you will start seeing your prayers answered more. And in seeing your prayers answered, you will know all the more that He loves you and that you are being pleasing to Him, and are guaranteed of Heaven. While they may mean well, don't listen to those who simply try to tell you to "feel" saved or tell you to force yourself to believe it when you really don't. Change your behavior by giving yourself more to the things of God until you feel the opposite; until you feel like you are being pleasing to God. It's time to build up your confidence in God by making a lifestyle change (2 Peter 1:5-11).

What happens if you can't make sense of scripture because of constant mental exhaustion? Is understanding being graded like a school exam?

What if no prayers of any type of answered because life goes from humiliation to even greater humiliation? Supposedly this is allowed to happen in order to shape character...but what if it's really just a punishment from God?

Your ansestor Adam was kicked out of Paradise and you were born, over here, where God does not walk. Your only Hope of getting back into Paradise is to Trust God that He has your back.
You must Trust Him that you'll be taken care of even if it rains 56 inches in a day and
floats you out to sea. You need to trust that He will always be there for you. Even if you die.
Yes, your mortal life is lived without God holding your hand, pulling you out of the quicksand. Trust God and be saved in the end.

Out of genuine curiosity, are these questions mostly theoretical, or are you speaking here somewhat from experience?

lets walk softly here... Jesus is the way the truth and the life. He is the only way.. came to give you life.. came to set you free. He loves you died for you..so He can have you with Him forever. Now.. the only way one does not live with Him forever is to reject this. That is the ONLY WAY. No other is written. If HE is the only way to the Father..

So.. if you believe John 3:16.. you are right now LIVING FOREVER. What you do how you act.. we grow.. we fall down so many times.. some times its hard to get up. But.. know THIS hold on to this and DONT let ANYONE rob you of this. You are right now ..if you believe in Jesus and why He came who He said He was. Then right now you are in HIS hands. His hands are in the Fathers hands.

Now.. the Father NEVER EVER drops anyone. I will not touch on other things.. would not bring life or hope.. you are saved.. you are HIS...so tell that lying thought to leave...and REJOICE!

It is important to know Gods love and perceive grace through that experience. Jesus said I did not come to condemn but to save. This same Christ will be the judge on the great white throne, his very love that we find joy in is judgment and torment to those who are wicked (in darkness). Jesus paid the penalty for sin which is death, and in him we have died. But the gospel does not stop there. In him we also have been (past present tense) resurrected and seated with him in the heavenly places. Your spirit is already seated with Christ, so there is no way you can be condemned. Our heavenly reward is not of our merit but by the finished work of Christ. Christ was obedient to the point of death, Christ lives in you, so you carry that rightouesness of Christ in you, and the Father grants you the same favor he had on his son as a result.

Revelation speaks of the saints being sealed on the forehead. Seals were impressions left on melted wax left by the kings signet ring, which in itself represented the authority of the king. You are sealed with authority, seated with King Jesus from where he reigns, and have the same righteousness as Jesus Christ. Not because of anything you did apart from faith, but because of what Christ accomplished on the cross. You are free from sin and condemnation. As Saint Paul said in the Epistle to the Corninthians "There is therefore now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus."

Start to live in the resurrection, where you are free from sin. You don't need to fear sin and strive to avoid it because the wage has been paid for you if you sin. If Satan the advocate tries to condemn you if you sin, we have the advocate Jesus Christ who declares us righteous and justified. We need to go to God as judge and confess our sin, not for the sake of cleanliness, after all you are already holy and blameless before God, but because the accuser satan holds your sins against you and uses them against you in the heavenly courts. Just like Israel was blessed by God but through Jezebel ended up cursing themselves, satan does the same with our guilt. When we make trade with the spirit of this world or with darkness, we need to go to our judge in prayer and receive pardon from our agreements with darkness. But please do not be afraid of sinning, but instead walk in the light of Christ in the Holy Spirit, and you will live righteously. Remember there is no fear in love but perfect love casts out fear.

To end I also give you this promise from Jesus himself, "Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest for your souls."
If we are going to strive for something scriptures say strive to enter into Christ rest. Rest in the righteousness Christ has given you, rest in the debt that was paid on the cross, rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

I hope you have found some freedom and assurance in this post, God loves you, grace and Peace.

Hi:

I didn't see anything in your post about baptism. Are you baptised with the sign of water and in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit? This is not absolutely necessary in the sense that a person must go to hell if they're not, (i.e. the "good" thief crucified next to Jesus). God can do whatever . All things are possible with God. But the normative method of becoming a Christian is accepting God's baptism. Christ Himself was baptised, though He had no need whatsoever because (He said to John), "We must fulfill all righteousness", knowing that at the end of His incarnational ministry he would teach His Apostles, "Go out to all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit". Just a suggestion, if it's not already covered in your life. Then......we live in Christian hope. You should be free of despair trusting that God's judgement will be the right one for you. Even the great St. Paul himself believed this. It's not a lack of faith, or a fear of hell, it is the fullness of faith and trust in Him with the judgement of your soul. St. Paul from 1 Cor 4 says "1*This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy. 3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by any human court. I do not even judge myself. 4 I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me. 5 Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then every man will receive his commendation from God.

I am Christian but I do not believe in hell. I feel God would not send anyone to a place of eternal torment. I have chronic pain disorder and it makes me know what constant pain feels like and I then understood that God could not do that to a human being. I only believe in heaven.
So let's get this straight.
You say You are a Christian. But you don't believe God.
You don't believe the wicked perish
You don't believe God heals either I assume.
Is there anything about God You do believe?
And if he is lying about outer darkness how can you be sure of anything he says.

forget about hell (at least fictitiously), and think about inevitable eternal circle of existence and positions of the souls - whatever you do to another, the same will be done to you (during its course)...

Matthew 7:1-12

Blessings
Hmm....Would not that be the Taoist,Buddhist,Hindu theory of "Karma"? (A specifically non-Christian teaching)?
