@SweetCarolina, hey. :) If you were in the story you'd be on another planet because that's where it takes place, haha! :D

I just realized I should have said good afternoon too, I posted that after 12 PM lol.

Ooh another planet. Am I a Martian? :mmh: I'd really like to visit Jupiter though, it's my favorite planet. :satisfied:

Mars is becoming too commonplace these days, so somewhere else like Jupiter is a good call. The one problem is that you probably wouldn't be able to land on it, so you might have to visit one of the moons if you want to get out of the spaceship.

OMM:
When someone says "I can't believe you're single". I've always decided to take it as a compliment and haven't been offended. Sometimes it can be awkward if I can't think of a witty retort and end up just clasping my hands and replying "yup...yup I am".

However,

yesterday I was at an event where a person said this to me at least 6+ times throughout the evening. And then made quite a few jokes about how I would "snag a man" or "walk down the aisle" next. How I "must be hiding men in my closets" because this person didn't believe I was single.

I was reminded that I was single so often throughout the night that despite my best efforts, I went from awkwardly flattered to completely annoyed. And on the drive home, if I hadn't been extremely tired and fallen asleep I think I would have cried.

I have no idea what their goal was. If it was to be nice, they could have seriously stopped after the first time. So why continue in front of different people and all my family members? ugh.

Good morning! :) How is everyone today?

I plan to start writing another story tomorrow but as usual, I need to think of more ideas for what happens in it lol.

Oh? Would you be willing to reveal it to us after you are done? ^-^

Unfortunately, Miss Ray, it does sound like this one guy who kept going on about did not mean to compliment you and it turns out he was just awkward at delivering it, but rather a somewhat veiled insult. It would appear you handled it well (I am imagining you doing this "clasping my hands and replying 'yup ... yup I am' " gesture is pretty cute and endearing to witness ^-^ ), but I can see why you felt moved to annoyance and even tears later on when reflecting on how this guy just harped on the issue. I hope you are feeling better about it this morning and will be able to forget the (for lack of a better term) confrontation the night before, now?

Thank you SK. I agree it felt like an insult by the end. Although the tone didn't give it away, so each time he brought it up in front of different people, no one else noticed. Oh, except for his wife!

But anyway it's a new day, right? :)

Thank you again. *insert hug*

@RayofSun, that has never happened to me, but I know how it must be. It isn't nice to insult others, and there is nothing wrong with being single! Sending prayers and virtual hugs.
:pray::hug:

Oh? Would you be willing to reveal it to us after you are done? ^-^
Yes of course. ^-^ I love sharing.
The only thing is I will have it posted on another site and I don't think you can post links here. ^-^'

I didn't even know Gene Wilder had died :(
August 29th will make 1 year. Alzheimer's and other Dementia's are terrible diseases of the mind

It happened to both of my maternal grandparents. It is happening to my maternal great-aunt. ... And I fear it will happen to both my mother in twenty or so years, and then my sister and I. Not gonna lie. :(

My pleasure, Miss Ray. *salutes*

(I really need to make a cutesy sprite of Sarah's Knight someday for these occasions, him saluting with a sword at his side. Perhaps in the style of ShadowLeggy's self-made animations on YouTube. .... Actually, while I am thinking of it, I believe you have indicated yourself to be a gamer in so many ways here before, Miss @Multifavs, so you might be interested to look ShadowLeggy up. She seems pretty cool, although most of her videos revolve around the Resident Evil series, which you may or may not be knowledgeable or a fan of.)

Okay so. I'm annoyed. :sorry: Like I get it, someone say "I can't believe you're single!" and I too, take it like a compliment. But I cannot stand people who say things like what he said to you. Like you're desperate because you're single that you'll just walk down the aisle with any man you lay eyes on. It never occurred to him that you have standards and thats possibly why you're single is because hey you won't be doing that next. Mmm. Okay. I need to rant less and breathe more. I can totally envision this person, if anything before you said it was a guy I would have totally pegged him for a woman. :sorry:

Ray, I would have been the same way. Exact. Same. Way. I'm sorry that happened to you, and know he's married, I want to be like "I can't believe you're married!" :D

That's what made it sound more like an insult to me, as well. It's one thing to just be like, "Wow, I can't believe a pretty lady like you is still single", and say it once.

But to keep on harping about it multiple times in the same night, it starts to sound more like he is suggesting you should be desperate to be getting someone (which in turn implies that you are undesirable enough that you should be desperate, because you won't get too many chances or something).

I'm so sorry to hear that :( that is seriously frightening. There is a blood test that you can do with a doctor or a geneticist to see if you have the gene that codes for it... but I think they only do it for research and not the general public

Yep, exactly! Okay, I know this didn't happen to me, but this made me a little more than annoyed. I want to give that guy a piece of my mind. :p

Yeah, right. I would love to see Jennie Amber of all people actually go off on someone. ^_^

Prayers :groupray::prayer:

Thanks, Miss Mustard. :) Thankfully I wasn't prone to dwelling on the fact when it first came to mind today, so I'm okay. It does pass through my thoughts every now and then, but not too much. Debilitating diseases like Alzheimer's just affect me more strongly ever since I threw aside the traditional Christian doctrine that we have inherently immortal souls, in favor of conditional immortality. So I do not see the diseases that eventually take one's life as just affecting a "shell" of a body but unable to touch the eternal soul. But rather, I now see it breaking down the person himself until it eventually kills him, a reminder of our fragile mortality. How fortunate we are that, as much as the sleep of death sucks, in Christ we do have the hope of a later resurrection, and this time unto eternal life where it can never be afflicted by disease or death again.

For now, though, we just have to face our mortality and the mental and physical ailments that all the more hasten the fulfillment of mortality's promise - the end of life. In Jesus, however, thankfully the end will not be permanent. :)
