Accepting a gay-lesbian lifestyle is not likened to building a house on a good foundation. A sinner may seek to be a Christian and try to learn its teachings. I was taught celibacy is acceptable and fidelity between two married partners is acceptable. I do not accept same sex marriage as a function of Christianity.

This article reports gay-lesbian people die much younger than heterosexuals:

yeah it's Paul Cameron making that claim. Cameron was lost his job at the U of Nebraska and his membership in the APA when he was caught making research data. It should come as no surprise that the research he was faking was about homosexuals. Since then Cameron has been a favorite of hate groups and the like. He published the original claim about homosexuals and their life expectancy saying that homosexuals had a life expectancy of 42 in a vanity press publication. He got this number 42 by clipping obituaries.

All this talk about Adam and Eve vs. Adam and Steve!

Did you know that that bit was first thought up by a gay Christian writer? Mel White, Stranger at the Gate.

there is zero evidence to support either of these claims

That's probably why we are even having this discussion at all. Some people use religion to reject critical thinking. I find this strangely nihilistic. Jesus should lead us into all truth. Even uncomfortable truths.

What "hate" would that be? Pointing out what the Bible teaches? That's "hate" now?

Try the "hate" of telling people dying with AIDS that God hates them!

you weren't anywhere near the bible when you put out that gays were the equivalent of rapists. thus my question to you: "is equating an entire minority with rapists loving?"

apparently, you think it is. Just curious - when racists associate blacks with rape are they being equally as loving?

Forgive me, but your post tells me and others it is okay to discard people, to distance yourself from them. How is that going to lead my brother to Christ?
Not at all what I'm saying. And I can't even tell if we actually agree with each other, yet we're trying to make separate points. This is my position...do not distance yourself from an adulterer, instead try to lead adulterers to Christ, However, do not tell adulterers that adultery is ok.

Do not distance yourself from a drug addict, instead try to lead a drug addict to Christ. However, we don't tell drug addicts that it's quite alright to be a drug addict.

Likewise, do not distance yourself from homosexuals, instead try to lead homosexuals to Christ. However, we do not tell homosexuals that gay marriage is ok.

Uh oh. Tomorrow I'll wear to church a wool suit, a cotton shirt, and a silk tie. Am I in trouble?
As long as it's not ONE garment that's a wool/cotton/silk blend, you'll be fine. :)

actually no, he didn't differentiate someone who died of HIV or of a heart attack or were killed in a car accident.

Yes, he did! Read a comprehensive biography of Paul Cameron, an you will see that he spent a lot of time in AIDS wards.

But answer my question: How does this lead my brother to a Christian Walk? He's lived with his partner for 50 years. Do YOU want to break them up?
