Obviously, I didn't catch my error there. I don't believe the Bible to be the word of God. Please review my updated comment and respond. Thanks!
Fair enough.
I just told you I don't believe the Bible to be the word of god, why do you think a Bible quote would change my mind?
I wasn't trying to change your mind.
You specifically asked this:
Why would anyone believe anything in the Bible?
I believe "anything in the Bible" because I believe the Bible is the word of God.
WHY I believe the Bible is the word of God is another story altogether.
I was just answering your question.
Why do I believe Joe's phone number is 555-5555? because the phone book says it, and I believe the phone book to be the most authoritative document.

Why do you take the Bible to be an authority?
Because I take It on faith. Faith that was generated and is now growing by reading It.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Why do you have a negative view of science?
I have a negative view of science when science contradicts the Bible.
I also have a negative view of science when science demoralizes our lives, (e.g., calling a "child in the womb" a "fetus"). Science is also proactive in its war on Christianity.

Science continually increases our knowledge and improves our lives.
No argument there.
But when science goes up against Christianity, we should kick back.

Religion is anti-knowledge and creates groups that hate those who are different from them.
Religion can take a hike.
Christianity isn't a religion: it is a relationship with Jesus Christ.

ETA: I asked you why you put JESUS in quotes.
