A Muslim man is suing Little Caesars for $100 million after he says he was served and then accidentally ate pepperoni made with pork, a food prohibited by Islamic law.

Muslim man sues Little Caesars, claiming 'halal' was a lie in Dearborn

Was this pizza hut franchized, and did they advertise Halal food specifically Halal pepperoni.

I would begin with the cheese, personally, if I was going Kosher, or Halal.

EDIT: I literally just clicked the link and it told me.

Then, the person may have a case...

Both of them have revealed that they knew what pork pepperoni was, before they ate it. He because of appearance, she because of taste. There is no case here. They are just trying to fleece Little Caesar's. Additionally this shop is probably a franchise, so the parent company will have little if any liability.

Case in point. McDonald's was successfully sued for scalding hot coffee which injured a customer (I can attest that their coffee was often much too hot). This was standard practice throughout the company, including franchise stores. Accidently or carelessly using the wrong meat topping is not only not a company wide practice but not even a single franchise practice, unless the employee was ordered to do so by the owner or manager. Failing this test all liability falls on the individual employee.

However, if the franchise decides to defend the employee they may be inviting liability for that employee's mistake. Best to fire the employee for his or her carelessness and stand 'outraged' along with the Muslim customer.

So let me get this straight. They bought a pizza in March that had pork on it and “got sick to their stomachs” filed a police report, AND THEN THEY WENT BACK TWO MONTHS LATER??!! Oh, and he was quick to file the lawsuit too. To protect the Muslim public no doubt…

I hope they toss the lawsuit in the trash where it belongs.

If you were going to go Kosher, you couldn't buy from the place anyway. It's unlikely they keep the meat and dairy separated, including separate cooking utensils and the like.

I'm surprised the pig hasn't sued. He really got the short end of the stick on all this.

Off topic but reminds me of this humorous example of the difference between involved and committed.

"It's like a breakfast of bacon and eggs. The chicken is involved, but the pig is committed."

I guess the lesson is not to trust anything you didn't prepare yourself.

Also, Little Caesars may have learned the lesson not to offer halal food anymore. God forbid you get it wrong!
