In reading Proverbs 28, this verse stood out for me:

In reading Proverbs 28, this verse intrigues me.

It seems to tie-in to the verse about fearing God, and therefore fearing no man.

"The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion." ~Proverbs 28:1

Yes it is. Verses like that are helpful to me. Reminds me of...

Proverbs 19:27 Stop listening to instruction, my son,
and you will stray from the words of knowledge.

That's soooo true. Our Anchor is God only, through His Word, and it is of great importance to Him that we "fear" Him (respect Him properly for the Holy God that He is) and that means to take Him and His Word seriously.

Reminds me of this very pivotal verse, which is a "key" to pleasing God:

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." ~Proverbs 9:10

Amen. Reminds me of a book that goes into a lot of detail about fearing God.....i had heard about then got it, when i was studying the book of Job called "The Joy of Fearing God" by Jerry Bridges.

Joy to me is like going from strength to strength, and faith to faith, and waiting on the Lord. Its like water in the desert.

I recently had a pleasant encounter with this scripture
