i have heard Jesus was more of a wood carver due to shortage of wood in Nazareth. Could this be true?

May God bless your work.Well I'm currently in the process of carving a new nativity set and have been reading somewhat about the history of carving.
As pointed out in post #5, it's a broader word than that.
Specifically, the greek word is "tecton", which means "laborer" or "common worker" - not just "carpenter".
Today that word would mean anything such as "construction worker", ditch digger, field hand, lawn mower guy, bricklayer, etc.

I believe you to be right.
