We're to love our enemies and pray for them. But it's the governments job to protect us. And they don't hold the sword for nothing. And to be clear, if put in a position where I have to defend my family from harm, I would not hesitate to kill the enemy. I would not kill another out of hate for them, but out of love for the ones I'm protecting. God takes no delight in the death of the wicked. Neither should we. But we shouldn't confuse that with pacifism. There is a time to take up swords and fight.

It is having that effect with many Muslims. In the meantime, we have a duty to protect the lives of the innocent. If a woman is being raped, I don't get on my knees and pray for her and her attacker, I attack the attacker even if it means I'll lose my life. And to be clear, if the only way to stop the attacker is to kill him, he gets killed.

What if we simply pray when we could have used force to stop a wrong doing? And the innocent are killed. And then we pray some more? God is my judge. Killing someone who is trying to kill you is justified. It is not murder. Killing someone who is trying to harm someone else is also justified.

Who, exactly, is this "we" you're talking about? Are you talking about the Body of Christ or are you talking about the king's empire? You seem to be confused about that.

Most likel'y.. pray. Prayer is quite potent. A good example is the vikings. They were violent disgusting heathens also, but how many churches exist in those old viking lands now? They were killing priests and nuns and taking them as slaves for a long time. Maybe Christians are impatient with God's timing when He works. We're so obsessed with our supposedly arrogant idea that God has blessed our nation, funny how faith works, in WW1.. every nation was absolutely certain God was on their side.

What about the innocent children that get killed in warfare? You know that the terrorists have no plans on taking over anything but the mid east. Not in reality because they know its not possible. They are bent on hate and murder. They will draw us into a war that will kill innocent children. The issue isn't so easy I know, but I find it hard to support war. There must be a better way for the church to help. Cant you think of something better to promote? Do you think the world needs our help in stirring up war?

Europe has been hit by yet another terror attack as two Islamists stormed a church in Normandy, France and beheaded a Catholic priest before being shot dead by police.

The attackers entered the church in the town of Saint Etienne du Rouvray at around 9am this morning local time during mass before taking six hostages, including the pastor, two nuns and several worshippers.
the nuns was reportedly able to escape and alert authorities. After a gunfight, police announced that the terrorists had been neutralized.

It was initially reported that the priest had his throat slit, but he was actually beheaded. Another parishioner was wounded, with other injuries likely.

According to authorities, “at least one of the two hostage-takers had a beard and one wore a traditional Muslim cap.”

The hostages also reportedly shouted “jihad” during the rampage.

There is enough misinformation ,without more ,please .He was NOT beheaded .
Strangely enough it has had a positive effect in France, as today after a large gathering in his honour ,the local Cardinal was able to talk about Jesus and who He is ,linking the need for preventing social upheavel with Him . This is normally unthinkable on a public network and the first time since perhaps 1905 .
The two 'terrorists' are very young , both being 19 year old .
France is more Christian today,the atmosphere changed , because of the martyrdom of this priest . Thankyou Jacques Hamel .

I'm not promoting war and I'm not representing the Church. We're having a political discussion regarding the terrorists beheading a priest. Islam is as much a political ideology as it is religious. They are attacking and have in essence declared war on the world of non-believers. That is the context.

I've stated many times that it's the job of the government to deal with them. You can't simply ignore millions of people who are bent on killing and raping at will.

OK, I get that. In other countries it is 17% or 9% or something. Still it adds up to multiple thousands with the ability and willingness to detonate. I fully get it that a majority of Muslims rarely if ever consider detonating oneself to be a good idea. Still, the minority of a billion Muslims that DO think it is a good idea is frightful in absolute numbers. Remember that Islam is supposedly a religion of peace, if you believe what everyone says.
