I'm quite frankly tired of the mindset of looking for the next racist around the corner. While ignoring all the strides that have been made. Do we have a ways to go? Of course. But the narrative is starting to feel like a lot like 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf' or 'Chicken Little'.
And what a shock that would be. I half expect the "I was oppressed!" or maybe "sexist!" cards next.

Imagine if she was black? Riots in the streets!! That racist!!

I just saw this on CNN. Sounds like this reporter has a history concerning this type of thing.
She does. She made a false claim about a different politician once. And she even went so far as to make a false charge against NYPD when she was in NYC covering the Occupy Wall Street protests.

When the video that shows nothing of the sort as she described happened, I wonder if she'll be arrested for filing a false police report?

If she is proven to be lying she should.

This has been rampant for several decades. Where've you been?

;)

Well I'm glad this person's nonsense and zero credibility is coming to light.

Frankly the worst part of this, by far, isn't her. It's that she was taken seriously based only on her claim. Once again, nobody cares about facts, at least not initially. White male = evil. That's the only "fact" many seem to care about.

I think this trend is getting worse but it fits in with the victimhood mentality like this reporter is trying to pull. But do not get me wrong. There is real racism out there but finding offense in everything really throws things back to a place where it should not be. As well as insulting all those that are truly suffering.

The Florida prosecutor whose office is handling the battery case involving Donald Trump's campaign manager is a long-time Democrat and former state senator who's now part of Hillary Clinton's so-called Florida leadership "council."...
Aronberg, who was elected to the post in 2012, has been listed as a member of Clinton's "Florida Leadership Council" since November, along with several state senators, representatives and local elected officials. He also gave $1,000 to Clinton's campaign in January, according to campaign finance records.

Methinks this is beginning to smell.

In the video, she reached out and touched Trump. She should be jailed for assault.
Wouldn't that be a story? Maybe this woman's record for crying wolf against public figures is what garnered her the job to go against someone in Trump's campaign.
It's the perfect smear. The attacks against him early on about his rhetoric toward women. The focus on the spin he incites violence at his rallies. Blend those two liberal spins together and low and behold, there's a female reporter, with a history of claiming assaults by public figures upon her person who now works for Breitbart claiming one of Trump's people assaulted her.
It looks like it's Trump's rhetoric in action.

Fields touched Trump twice and was warned by agents to stop before Lewandowski pulled her away. The more the information comes out, the more we learn that Fields is just a liar trying to make a name for herself out of a non-incident. Lewandowski grabbed her elbow. She has bruises on her forearm. To hear Megyn Kelly report it the act was as violent as one of Bill Clinton's rapes.

Why is she on in Fox, again?

Almost every conservative commentary outlet I visit has treated Fields's testimony as absolutely unquestionable, has pretended that the evidence has been unquestionably in support of her story since day 1, and has mocked anyone who says that she might have ulterior motives. They all have also acted as though the action was a sure disqualification of Donald Trump's campaign.

I think that they believe that this is where the finally can finish Trump off. They think that since Michelle Fields is a woman and a journalist that she has a free pass for her actions and her words should be unquestioned. (Because people have a desire to protect and trust women, while journalists are protected by the freedom of the press.) Therefore they believe that if Trump opposes her, the public will immediately turn against him, because turning against a female reporter would be unthinkable.

What they don't realize is that the public does not give much slack to women anymore. There are lingering traces of chivalry in society, but they have been greatly weakened by repeated calls to think of men and women as completely identical, as well as prominent stories covering false charges brought by women (most notably the Rolling Stone UVA imaginary rape story). On the other hand, reporters are given no special treatment. In fact, the position of journalist is despised by many people, to the point where any sympathy that Fields may have for being a woman is canceled off by her profession, and then some. A large part of Trump's popularity comes precisely from the fact that people are sick of the media, and are glad to support a candidate who is their number one enemy. So this attack isn't going to convince a single one of his supporters to abandon him.

The general public is not as anti-media, but they also haven't followed the story the whole way through. They are only starting to pay attention now that it has exploded, since almost every single opponent of Trump has jumped on board. Unfortunately, this comes at a time when the clearest video of the incident is this:

The reaction of most people to the video (as you can see through the comments) is "that's it?" Or maybe even "did anything violent happen in the first place?" It certainly isn't to develop a righteous indignation against Trump for condoning such "violence."

As such I predict that the net effect of this incident will be another increase in the popularity of Trump. Moreover, I predict a decrease in the popularity of people shamelessly pushing the narrative against Trump (such as Fox News), though this is likely to be temporary because people have short memories for public events.
