Asking questions is a awesome way to learn. If you have to say "What evidence" it is rather clear that you do not even understand what is and what is not evidence. You probably need to learn that first then you can begin to ask your questions.
Then how can we tell if they actually existed in the first place?
Can I show that Robin Hood existed? no because Robin Hood never existed, how can we show that someone existed if they never existed? can I show you stories and tales about Robin hood? yes hundreds of them, I can also prove that Sherwood forest existed because it's still there today, but Robin Hood? no sorry. You made a bold claim that there was no evidence that Jesus existed. If you want to back track and brush it off as 'whatever makes you happy, it's my opinion' is disingenuous to the point I made that there are sources that support Jesus existed, even more so than most historical figures of antiquity. You haven't provided any sound arguments to back-up your claims and yet expect to be taken seriously.
A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion. Proverbs 18:2

Only if you are prepared to listen to the answers, religious people are not prepared to listen because they have their beliefs firmly fixed and nothing can shift them other than themselves, and that applies to all religious people, no one can change your mind only you can change your mind, you were not reasoned into believing so you can not be reasoned out of believing.Asking questions is a awesome way to learn.
"Hood" is a surname associated with criminals. While it is unlikely that one person did all the acts associated with the stories, given that they take place over a time range that exceeds the human lifespan, trends of human mythos dictates that, chances are, Robin Hood is based off of multiple people, and the deeds (while exaggerated and added on to over time) have some grain of truth to them. Can I show that Robin Hood existed? no because Robin Hood never existed, how can we show that someone existed if they never existed? can I show you stories and tales about Robin hood? yes hundreds of them, I can also prove that Sherwood forest existed because it's still there today, but Robin Hood? no sorry.
If you feel that way, why do you bother to be here?Only if you are prepared to listen to the answers, religious people are not prepared to listen because they have their beliefs firmly fixed and nothing can shift them other than themselves, and that applies to all religious people, no one can change your mind only you can change your mind, you were not reasoned into believing so you can not be reasoned out of believing.
Why is there a need for websites like this?

Why are you here? you say you are an atheist what are you doing here?If you feel that way, why do you bother to be here?
To learn better social skills, by testing my patience by exposing myself to people with strongly contrasting views to my own that are stubborn, and making efforts to debate them politely while retaining competence within debates. That is my primary reason for being on this site, and it has helped a lot.Why are you here? you say you are an atheist what are you doing here?

Then if you don't mind me saying I think you are wasting your time.To learn better social skills, by testing my patience by exposing myself to people with strongly contrasting views to my own that are stubborn, and making efforts to debate them politely while retaining competence within debates. That's because there is no evidence for any deity, there never has been and there never will be because they were all made up by people.Additionally, I am interested in any evidence for deities, but thus far I have been disappointed in what people have provided.
I'm not, I'm an atheist and I'm not looking to change any minds because I know beyond a shadow of doubt that their minds can not be changed by anyone other than themselves. To elaborate as well, I am an agnostic atheist seeker. So I have a lot of reasons to be on here, without needing to be motivated by changing any minds.
I listen and ask just as much as you do to other religions, none of us believe in all the religions on earth you just stop believing one religion before I do, why you do that I have absolutely no idea when there is the same evidence for all of them, none.I don't see you asking or listening on this subject. Uh oh.
I asked "how can we tell", not "how can we believe". Yes, it's pretty easy to believe in a miracle if you insist it must be true on faith. But this applies both to miracles which happened and miracles which didn't. How can we determine which is which? That takes faith.
How am I wasting my time trying to improve social skills on here, when I have said already that my social skills have improved by being on here? Forcing myself to be polite repeatedly online comes over to my interactions in person a bit. In fact, it has worked better than anything else I have done to improve my social skills, relative to the time it has taken to improve. So, not only do I know this is not a waste of my time on that basis alone, but when it comes to improving my social skills, this seems like the best use of my time, as the goal is to improve my tact and patience not by observing those of others, but by retaining composure even amongst people that aren't always polite or reasonable. Then if you don't mind me saying I think you are wasting your time. That's because there is no evidence for any deity, there never has been and there never will be because they were all made up by people.I'm not, I'm an atheist and I'm not looking to change any minds because I know beyond a shadow of doubt that their minds can not be changed by anyone other than themselves.

That's not something that I would expect to be reading from a self declare agnostic. That's because there is no evidence for any deity, there never has been and there never will be because they were all made up by people..
When it comes to irrational behaviour you bet your life I am 100% against it in all it's forms.I'm not looking to change the minds of people on here as a major goal either, and the only thing I would really want to change is some of the more hateful impressions people get of atheism. You are part of the problem in that regard; you almost seem like you are trying to be antagonizing.
I am here because as an Englishman I am fascinated that millions of Americans seem to think it's quite acceptable to believe in the supernatural for no other reason than they want to, millions dismiss the ToE in favour of nonsense, that to me just blows my mind, it means that millions of Americans are totally irrational but they think they are quite normal, it must be like living in a huge insane asylum where they think you're one of them if you keep your mouth shut. But the question remains; why are you in here? You have yet to answer it; you just threw the question back at me instead. I gave an answer, so now it is your turn.

The American politics section is so so crazy, I never know what craziness will come out next, it's like going to the zoo, you never know what is in the next cage.
