Proverbs 28
Everyone read Chapter 28 if it is the 28th day of the month today. Come back and give us your thoughts....Tishri1
Proverbs 28New International Version (NIV)

28 The wicked flee though no one pursues,
but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

2 When a country is rebellious, it has many rulers,
but a ruler with discernment and knowledge maintains order.

3 A ruler[a] who oppresses the poor
is like a driving rain that leaves no crops.

4 Those who forsake instruction praise the wicked,
but those who heed it resist them.

5 Evildoers do not understand what is right,
but those who seek the Lord understand it fully.

6 Better the poor whose walk is blameless
than the rich whose ways are perverse.

7 A discerning son heeds instruction,
but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father.

8 Whoever increases wealth by taking interest or profit from the poor
amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor.

9 If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction,
even their prayers are detestable.

10 Whoever leads the upright along an evil path
will fall into their own trap,
but the blameless will receive a good inheritance.

11 The rich are wise in their own eyes;
one who is poor and discerning sees how deluded they are.

12 When the righteous triumph, there is great elation;
but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding.

13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

14 Blessed is the one who always trembles before God,
but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.

15 Like a roaring lion or a charging bear
is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.

16 A tyrannical ruler practices extortion,
but one who hates ill-gotten gain will enjoy a long reign.

17 Anyone tormented by the guilt of murder
will seek refuge in the grave;
let no one hold them back.

18 The one whose walk is blameless is kept safe,
but the one whose ways are perverse will fall into the pit.[b]

19 Those who work their land will have abundant food,
but those who chase fantasies will have their fill of poverty.

20 A faithful person will be richly blessed,
but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.

21 To show partiality is not good—
yet a person will do wrong for a piece of bread.

22 The stingy are eager to get rich
and are unaware that poverty awaits them.

23 Whoever rebukes a person will in the end gain favor
rather than one who has a flattering tongue.

24 Whoever robs their father or mother
and says, “It’s not wrong,”
is partner to one who destroys.

25 The greedy stir up conflict,
but those who trust in the Lord will prosper.

26 Those who trust in themselves are fools,
but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.

27 Those who give to the poor will lack nothing,
but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.

28 When the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding;
but when the wicked perish, the righteous thrive.

Another new Day in Proverbs-
1 The wicked flee when no one pursues them; but the righteous, like lions, feel sure of themselves
This is a promise to me more than an attribute, but I can see how with the Lord on our side, this is a surety!
2 A land which transgresses [is punished by] having many rulers; but with a man of understanding and knowledge, stability is prolonged.
I believe this is being proven in our land in our time.

9 If a person will not listen to Torah, even his prayer is an abomination.
This is really strong......I know there is grace in there somewhere as even Torah has built in repentance.

13 He who conceals his sins will not succeed; he who confesses and abandons them will gain mercy.
There it is!:)
14 Happy the person who is never without fear, but he who hardens his heart will fall into misfortune.
I love this one! It speaks to my life right now!

22 He who is greedy rushes after riches, not knowing that want will overtake him.
This is wisdom!

24 Whoever robs mother or father and says, "That's not a crime!"is comrade to the destroyer.
WOW this is true!

28 When the wicked rise up, people hide; but when they perish, the righteous flourish.
This is how it is sometimes, society tries to push you in their direction thru pressure and fear. The promise is being true to your principles, not allowing fear to move you and knowing what is the good outcome for you in the end (and them) ;)

in reading Proverbs 28, verse 1 stood out for me:

"The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion."

For me, this means that the wicked have a guilty conscience and/or have brought on a curse on themselves for their wickedness.

The righteous have no such fears.

This verse applies:

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." ~2 Timothy 1:7

The righteous fear not and consequently have peace.

Pro 28:25 He that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat. Oh dear!

...my version of verse 25 says, trusting the Lord brings prosperity...(phew, you got me worried, YESLORDIWILL)
verse 26; A man is a fool to trust himself, but those who use God's wisdom are safe.

It is so easy to admire the confident and self reliant men and women who know what they want and fight for it,...a wise person is protected by dependence on God. (Life Application Bible)

LOL! The fatness spoken here means GOOD health and not deprived of any good thing, both physically and spiritually :D

It's a GOOD thing

In reading Proverbs 28, this verse stood out for me. It means that the righteous speak out against evil and injustice and oppose those who do such things:

Hi guys,

I am vastly encumbered. I was allowed to become overwhelmed.

That allowed God to have me work for Him and not know what I was doing or saying.

Proverbs 28:14 is how I feel. I did not know it was here.

I dropped two bombs today. One to a former Baptist minister, who is nice, but has a flaw. The other went to a person, who thought they knew God correctly, but had an error, as they didn't know you have to go to The Bible about some things of God.

Proverbs 28:23 makes me feel better now.

LOVE,
