Unfortunately most people don't seem to read Snope's own FAQ page.http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/nogozones.asp
There you go. A site that specializes in fact checking.
Unfortunately most people don't seem to read Snope's own FAQ page.
Q: How do I know the information you've presented is accurate?
A: We don't expect anyone to accept us as the ultimate authority on any topic. Unlike the plethora of anonymous individuals who create and send the unsigned, unsourced e-mail messages that are forwarded all over the Internet, we show our work. The research materials we've used in the preparation of any particular page are listed in the bibliography displayed at the bottom of that page so that readers who wish to verify the validity of our information may check those sources for themselves.
It is foolish to use only a single resource to determine the accuracy of a given story. Especially when American Thinker provides evidence to the contrary and with references to the named sources that support the story (linked) that asks the question, are No Go Zones a myth.
Sadly, there are times when people would rather briefly browse down Snope's page to their identifying their research as having found any given question as true, or false. And that's where they leave it.
Whereas actually reading the American Thinker article takes time. Even when certain relevant parts are excerpted and pasted in this thread.
I read the "Thinker" article. The definition of "no-go" zones applies to hundreds of areas in the US and it isn't about Muslims. Any decayed, urban area is a "No-go". Many small rural communities are no-go for outsiders, especially after sunset. I've worked in places where sunset means "get your behind out".
Immigration has always had this phenomenon. Ever heard about the "mafia"?

Remind me again, what percentage of conservative Christians want to prohibit gay marriage because God said so?http://www.centerforsecuritypolicy....uslims-shows-thousands-support-shariah-jihad/
Per the poll: 600 Muslims polled(est. total US Muslims-300,000)
American Muslims:
1. believe Muslims should be able to chose Shariah courts over regular courts.
2. 25% support violence against those that offend the prophet.
3. 20% believe in violence in order to get Shariah law in the US.
Shariah is unconstitutional in many ways. Use of violence against free speech is criminal.
Like, say, Birmingham? So you agree that there are such things as no go zones. And in Europe they most likely do pertain to Muslims.
Sadly, having Michael Nazir-Ali as a source does nothing to help the case.January 28, 2015
Are 'No-Go Zones' a Myth?
By John Dietrich
Recently Fox News apologized for referring to several areas in Europe as “no-go zones.” The apology followed an interview with Steven Emerson, Executive Director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, who incorrectly claimed Birmingham, England was a Muslim city. The apology claimed the “no-go zone” statement was also incorrect.
.....
(Sic)"It has been suggested that Fox made these apologies as a result of pressure from Saudi billionaire, Alwaleed bin Talal, a major stockholder in Fox’s parent company. But that doesn't explain why CNN went the same way. Anderson Cooper stated, “In the wave of the Paris attacks, several guests on this program mentioned ‘no-go zones’ in France. I didn’t challenge them and twice referred to them as well. I should have been more skeptical, I won't make the same mistake again." Apparently the claim that there are “no-go zones” is now taboo. Both Media Matters and the Washington Post have declared it to be a myth.
Are “no-go zones” really a myth? It appears to depend on the terminology used. The French government admits to 751 “Sensitive Urban Zones.” Daniel Pipes claims it would be more appropriate to describe them as “Dar al-Islam” -- the House of Islam, or a place where Islam rules. In Britain there are as many as eighty-five Sharia courts in operation. The Dutch government has released a list of forty “no-go” zones in the Netherlands.
Several people have commented on this sensitive subject. A senior bishop of the Church of England, Pakistani-born Michael Nazir-Ali, warned that Islamic extremists had created “no-go” areas across Britain too dangerous for non-Muslims to enter. " Source and full article @ The American Thinker

I suspect theres a disconnect of understanding. So you agree that there are such things as no go zones. And in Europe they most likely do pertain to Muslims.
Well sourced, inconvenient information is a lot less fun than hysterical and hyperbolic claims of doom that people want to believe. Not this again!

To whoever said that in the Netherlands the government released a list of 40 dangerous areas. What absolute nonsense!
No they haven't! Of course they haven't. How can you just believe that on face value? Somebody made that up.
It blows my mind to see people actually comparing the two here. It's like "25% of group A supports killing people who disagree with them" and "Well yeah, but look at group B! 50% of group B thinks drug abuse is bad!". You're comparing violence against people to opposing aberrosexual behaviors.Remind me again, what percentage of conservative Christians want to prohibit gay marriage because God said so?
I had in mind comparing whatever percent of Christians believe their law must be imposed to the 51% of Muslims. It blows my mind to see people actually comparing the two here. You're comparing violence against people to opposing aberrosexual behaviors.
I suspect theres a disconnect of understanding.
Most of Europe is used to few guns, low crime, low violence. Obviously, everywhere has some places that are relatively more dangerous than others. But it may not be dangerous compared to a high crime part of the U.S.
I've happily walked through many of the more disreputable bits of British cities without a worry.

How nice. Would you let your wife or daughter walk through all the areas of Sweden where "The situation has become so dire that the ambulance union now demands dramatically improved protection for its members", and the rape rate is the highest in Europe?

The reason Sweden seems to have the highest rape rate has everything to do with the Swedes, namely the fact that Sweden, unlike other countries, counts every act of rape seperately while other countries count one victim = one rape crime, regardles how many times the victim was raped.
So when an abusive Swedish husband keeps raping his wife on weekly bases for five years, that makes 52 x 5 = 260 rape crimes in the Swedish statistic, not one rape crime as counted by other countries. And when a Swedish hockey team gang rapes a girl, that makes x number of players = number of rape crimes, instead of one victim, one rape crime, as counted in other countries
OK, so what percentage of Christians believe homosexuals should be executed or imprisoned? It blows my mind to see people actually comparing the two here. It's hard to find any numbers for that. The proportion is miniscule.OK, so what percentage of Christians believe homosexuals should be executed or imprisoned?
As was stated, it is not necessary for Muslims to desire, nor request, this amongst themselves. It is clear they can choose that as an arbitration method (Judy Judy example.) It only matters that their desire is that our courts be handled according to Shariah, or replaced by Shariah courts. That is where the problem comes.#1 isn't that bad as long as both sides consent. The Shariah courts should have no power to enforce any ruling that they make.
