What makes a Christian is the confession that one is a wretched sinner and is nothing without the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. A Christian claims Jesus as the Lord of their lives and follows his teachings, which can be confirmed by everything the Bible says. When a person truly gives up their lives for Christ, they are filled with the Holy Spirit, which begins teaching them God's Truth through the words in the Bible.
This is why I say if scripture cannot support scripture then that scripture in question is being misinterpreted.
A Christian should always try to look at the Bible as a whole and not pick and choose what to believe, just because it conforms to their lifestyle. A Christian's lifestyle should only conform to what the Bible says as a whole. And you can never know what the Bible says as a whole if you do not accept Jesus as your savior.
So... should a Christian ever question if they're reading the Bible correctly?
Unless it's misinterpreted twice.
So... once one accepts Jesus as their savior, it's no longer possible for them to misinterpret Scripture?
This is where the body of Christ comes in. The body of Christ is the gathering of fellow believers, where thoughts and emotions and experiences can all be bounced of the body of Christ(fellow believers) to determine what is of God and what is of evil. The more believers there are that devote their lives to Christ the more efficient the body of Christ becomes at delivering God's truth to fellow believers as well as non-believers. I believe the body of Christ is a force that cannot be stopped, simply because it's based in Truth and the Truth will be revealed.
So... majority rules, then?
Lol, no truth rules.
Great questions! Don't take my word for it, read the source of truth for yourself if you want,
As determined by the "Body of Christ."
You assume I already haven't.
As determined by God.

I had a dream when I was 12. God showed me the universe was expanding and at some point in time He would bring it all back together again after it had gone through a change. Are you getting this from the Bible or science?

Emmanuel Swedenborg had the same experience.I had a dream when I was 12. God showed me the universe was expanding and at some point in time He would bring it all back together again after it had gone through a change.
No one has. For now we see in a mirror dimly. If you've read the bible that's great, but obviously you havnt gained the understanding required to really grasp all it has to offer.
Either that, or God is going to order the strong nuclear force to stand down.Your talking about the big crunch, science has recently proven that theory false, the universe will continue expanding until it all fizzles out and dies...
Sound like something that would be interesting to study up on.Emmanuel Swedenborg had the same experience.
We started off as a big crunch. According to science based on Kubbalah teachings.Your talking about the big crunch, science has recently proven that theory false, the universe will continue expanding until it all fizzles out and dies...
God Bless!
And when God doesn't answer...
...trust the crowd.
Swedenborg was taken on a tour of the solar system and reported five planets.Sound like something that would be interesting to study up on.
The answer's will come, just maybe not in the way you expect. I can honestly say I've never heard an audible voice from God, but He has answered many of my questions through His creation, but mainly through my readings and understandings of the Bible as guided by the Holy Spirit.
Nope, trust truth. I chose to trust Jesus and it just so happened that after that choice, my life changed dramatically and I found a new purpose that goes far and beyond myself. This doesn't make my life easy by any means, Jesus tells us this in the Bible:
Matthew 16:24
"Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me."
It's not easy, but definitely worth it.
So I should ignore everything you said earlier about "the Body of Christ"?
