These tools are worked stones, buddy... not just random stones someone picked up and used. I am sure this proceeded worked stones used as tools, but we may never know how long ago such unworked stones were used. Perhaps, from the very beginning of the hominid line, since chimps and other primates use unworked stones. You actually have stumbled on an interesting question, however. Primitive stone tools that are not worked in an obvious fashion can be very hard to discern from stones that were say broken by accident. I'm not sure if these tools fall into that category or not, though.

edit- looking at the photos of these tools, they do look like they were altered or fashioned by humans (or hominids if you prefer).

To catch insects. They plan for this as well. They fabricate the tool in one place and then take it with them to the place where they will use it.

The stick itself is manipulated and not just any random stick. The stick itself is carefully chosen (sturdy, straight and long enough) and the end of it is manipulated into a splitting branch, to make insects get stuck in between the strips.

Yeah yeah, and some insects keep insect slaves. Bears stick a claw in an aunt hill and lick the army of ants that come up...etc.

Shoving a stick stick what you might fit into a nest is hardly exceptional. Did you very see a monkey or chimp? They seem dumber than dogs to me.
