  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

An attempt to eliminate God.

You still turn a blind eye anytime someone points out that similar precepts may come up in more than one legal system.
We are dealing woith God! How many legal systems you see with God who is one?

God requires different things of different people all the time.

Did He tell Solomon to march around Jericho or Isaiah to build a temple?

Was Samson held to a different standard than others? If so, how could this one God have more than one standard??

Are foods now clean which at one time weren't? How could this be with one God?

Perhaps the one God makes covenants. Perhaps each covenant has differences.

Over and over you REFUSE to admit that loving your neighbor makes most of these commandments you condemn us with unnecessary and repetitive. It is nothing but a sham trying to say they are BETTER than loving because without the 10 the Sabbath commandment is all out there alone with nobody to acknowledge its validity beyond a Jewish only ritual in the NT and one must go back to the OT where it starts and is prevalent.
Jesus is the truth and the life!!! Mat. 19:
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Jesus put the same and the ten commandments together!! What are you trying to prove that Jesus is refusing to admit that you are right and He is wrong! That to love is better that the ten C's. Tell Him like it is, He should know better I suppose.

Count what Jesus said there... I'm not getting to ten.

Did God tell Solomon he could lie and Moses he could not!! We are talking about marching are we?

Are not to walk according the the commandments? Doing "good works"
Ephesians2: 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
You aren't going to weasel out of your admission your "salvation" depends on your compliance with the old covenant. Producing a sound-bite that doesn't suggest returning to the old covenant doesn't help your cause one tiny bit.

So with that perpective, we can conclude that we have no need to serve God alone for Jesus did not Mention that did He? We can take the Lord's name in vain, or worship idols for Jesus did not mention those did He?

Since those are all mentioned in the NT, I'll refrain. Thanks.

I'll also take my option to esteem all days equal, as the Bible says I can.

Tell us how 1 can love their neighbor as themselves and do any of those other things to their neighbor. You approach has always Jesus was teaching salvation by the law. Has not worked yet so you try something else. I will give a kuddo for paying closer attention to the passage. NTL you admit that Jesus is not really teaching the law.

I see 9 commandments..... are you going to insist that you can't add to us here or are you just going to keep lying to everyone telling us there is 10.

Sorry, not weasel, but God's word..
Now you're trying to pass off yourself as a god?
This pathetic episode was brought to you by someone desparate to weasel out of his own posting history. Fabrication of unthinkable fables are a natural by-product. We have Elder111's admission his "salvation" is dependent on his own compliance with the old covenant, and we have the proof he isn't compliant.

Post 615 from this morning:
In other words one who refuses to keep the 10 has their salvation ripped from them.
Unless you are going to tell me that we can lie and steal etc. and still be at one with God, you agree with me that the answer is yes!
Your 'unless - then' scenario is based on a fallacy, and I'm pretty sure you already know it isn't going to find agreement.

Here we have it in writing: this Adventist openly admits his salvation is dependent on compliance with the old covenant from Mount Sinai. Elder111's performance is the final determinant, and not God's performance.

That is in defiance of the Gospel.
Romans 4
2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 4 Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.
5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:
7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”

The same way a man can love his wife and still have an affair. The fact that Jesus said keep the commandments and mentions them have Him reaching the law, is that not a good example for you to follow?

Jesus also walked on water and hiked up a mountain to talk to Moses. Some things He did are not meant for me.

John 14:12(NKJV)
12“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
