Because it fits the definition of disrespectful?

So if somebody is picking their nose in public in front of other people (if they do it and nobody sees it, then whatever), it's impolite to say it's gross?

It's impolite because it's politically incorrect. It's only politically incorrect because our society worships babies and views whatever gross thing a baby does-breastfeed, etc, as "cute", which is sickening. Please explain logically why it's impolite.

Or maybe because there are a lot of people out there who disagree with your opinion that it is gross. Enjoy being a minority. Sometimes it sucks.

I missed several pages of this topic, so perhaps I missed your logical explanation as to why breastfeeding is gross?

I am not, however, going to have a definition war with you. I gave you the definition of disrespectful. I'm not going to now define "respect" and "courtesy" so that you can ask for further definitions.

I also find it rather ironic that you are screaming about political correctness when, as far as I can tell, you just want political correctness to cover you and not them. Good luck with that.

How do you know my opinion is in the minority?

Perhaps. But the key point is that "they find it". Grossness exists not in Breastfeeding but in their subjective reaction to it.

If you aren't in the minority, then you are part of a rather silent majority. Most people aren't hitting the news screaming about how gross feeding a baby is. Laws are also not being passed to prohibit public breastfeeding, which generally takes a majority.

You also seem to be a minority in this thread.

Regardless, it is your opinion and there are enough people who disagree with you.

What about your logical explanation as to why breastfeeding is gross? If you want people swayed to your side, be prepared to base your argument on more than "eww".

Human decency. To be respectful and courteous.
I think human decency is better served by allowing the infant to feed when necessary and not in a bathroom than it is not offending you. It's also more respectful and courteous to the baby and the mother.

I saw some of those on internet, just: hey look at me! with a shirt exposing everything, not even trying to cover up a bit, but I tried to find it and instead I found this, I don´t know people who breastfeed in public and I´ve never seen it, but she explains it good and made me see the point of it, but she does cover up a bit and is decent.

Many people do find it to be gross.

Perhaps you should discuss the design of the baby-feeding system with its Designer...

He already asked Adam "Who told you that you were naked?"

In other words: "Who dares to call my design shameful?"

Honestly, who cares? And I think we can all agree listening to a baby cry is far more unpleasant than having a woman breast feed in the same room when we don't even have to look in that direction.

Because you have yet to offer any evidence showing that your opinion is that of the majority, nor have you offered any reasoning to show why your supposed right to not see a woman breastfeeding because you find it to be "gross" outranks my right to see a woman breastfeed because I find it to be beautiful.

As I have already pointed out--a point that you constantly ignore--is that most breastfeeding statutes allow the nursing mother to determine how much of her breasts to expose. Since those bills passed the state legislatures--the elected representatives of the people--I think it is safe to say that the majority of the American people do not find breastfeeding to be "gross" as you claim.
