Fr. Tom Hopko to speak at HCHC

Hey, all. We were blessed to be able to attend the keynote lecture of Bishop Kallistos Ware this past Friday evening. It was soooo wonderful, and that had to be one of, if not, the best birthday gift I've ever had. Such a spiritually-nourishing and uplifting event! Anyway, I was telling one of our friends after the talk that it would be awesome if Fr. Tom would come here to speak, then it would all be complete for me. What do you know! He's coming this Thursday to speak at the school from 1:30-2:30 p.m.! He'll be talking about the theological foundation of leadership. It's FREE! Brothers and sister in the area or close enough, what a treat! God willing, we'll be there Thursday afternoon! Soooo excited!!

Gurney convinces Dot to sneak a small paper into Metropolitan Kallistos' pocket. Later that night, when getting ready for bed, Met. Kallistos opens the note and reads it. "I beg you, PLEASE come to Fresno to St. Peter's Serbian Orthodox Church and speak...PLEEEEEEASE! with a little picture of a guy on bended knee. Met. Kallistos, with pity in his heart for Gurney, calls Father George, our priest, and sets up a speedy trip. Gurney is satiated....Dot gets her $50 bribe for putting the note in his pocket....

I was at Villanova for Met Kallistos's presentation last year, which was amazing. I was going to go to this one, but a buddy of mine was getting married, so I went to his wedding instead. Can't wait to see the video.
