  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You are free to support your claims with data and majority opinion if you wish.

Majority opinion isn't evidence which would support a theory when opinions themselves aren't relevant for the theory to work or fail (basically, a bunch of people believing something is true doesn't make it more likely to be true necessarily).

True. Perhaps his entire family has faith in the tooth fairy.
I'm willing to allow for nurture as a source of beliefs without
too much criticism. I don't know his age.

Just know that a lot of people thinking something is true isn't a valid support for anything.

You have no idea what you are talking about and your ignorance is painful.
I am talking about man and animals adapting and evolving rapidly. That is painful to a dogma of present state evolution as the creation engine!
Again, you have no idea what you are talking about and you are also not paying attention to what I am saying, because I have already explained this to you. I can only conclude that you are being deliberately stubborn.
On the contrary, your explanations opposes themselves. One minute you admit worm sex could have resulted in you, the next it can't be the flatworm sex, it had to be some imaginary ancestor. You have no clue. Stop pretending, it is painful.

Your ignorance of it does not mean it doesn't exist.
?? What exists? A first life form you dreamed up because you need one? It doesn't exist! This is news?
In fact, given that you have shown zero interest in learning about these things, I'd say there is likely a great deal about science that you are ignorant of.
Get a grip, you need to learn. Obviously.

So petrol burns because Eve ate an apple.
Yes. You may have the fruit wrong, but this state exists because of sin. Petrol burning pollutes and hurts, and is entirely a product of this state and nature. How much did they burn in Noah's day? You think God drove Adam and Eve from the garden in s CAR???

No it's not. Since you have ZERO evidence, it is laughable, not painful.

On the contrary, your explanations opposes themselves. One minute you admit worm sex could have resulted in you, the next it can't be the flatworm sex, it had to be some imaginary ancestor. You have no clue. Stop pretending, it is painful.

Your lack of comprehension does not invalidate science.

?? What exists? A first life form you dreamed up because you need one? It doesn't exist! This is news?

Can't even follow a conversation. You really are out of your depth here.

Get a grip, you need to learn. Obviously.

And you can stop the petty insults.

Yes. You may have the fruit wrong, but this state exists because of sin. Petrol burning pollutes and hurts, and is entirely a product of this state and nature. How much did they burn in Noah's day? You think God drove Adam and Eve from the garden in s CAR???

So...

You have no idea what science is, but you argue against it anyway, despite the fact that it works beautifully, and you also think that fossil fuels wouldn't exist if Eve hadn't been a naughty girl.

Honestly, my mind is boggling. I have no idea how anyone can actually believe this...

Science has no evidence for the evolution of man from bacteria or whatever little stuff they claim it started with! I have the bible account of life and where it started, supported by every miracle and prophesy that ever happened.
Your lack of comprehension does not invalidate science.
Try to explain what worm or whatever had sex that may have resulted in you? No flatworm you think? Spit it out.

You have no idea what science is, but you argue against it anyway, despite the fact that it works beautifully,
Name anything around the time of the first life form that 'works beautifully'!!!?? That is delusional.

and you also think that fossil fuels wouldn't exist if Eve hadn't been a naughty girl.

Right. nor this state where they work. Even if they could have been abused, they would not have been. Just as Cain misused a club or whatever he clobbered Able with.

Your mind needs boggling something fierce.

Yes it does. The fact that you refuse to educate yourself about it does not mean it isn't there.

Try to explain what worm or whatever had sex that may have resulted in you? No flatworm you think? Spit it out.

You are still ignorant of science. You really need to educate yourself about science before you try to disprove it. As it is, you're just embarrassing yourself with your outrageous strawmen.

Name anything around the time of the first life form that 'works beautifully'!!!?? That is delusional.

Again, you are incapable of following a simple conversation.

Right. nor this state where they work. Even if they could have been abused, they would not have been. Just as Cain misused a club or whatever he clobbered Able with.

Your mind needs boggling something fierce.

How can someone actually want to remain ignorant of something and yet still want to argue against it. I mean, at least I decided to read the Bible and find out what Christianity actually was before I started arguing against it. But your ideas about science are so ridiculous that I have no idea where you got them from.

Do you argue against Islam? Judaism? I Ching? Taoism? Heaven's Gate? Aum Shinrikyo? anchovy pizza?

If so, you must be one educated lady.

What are you currently studying?

It might add some credibility to her point.

But I have a feeling she doesn't walk her talk.

I personally don't know Chuck about evolution.

Yet I rail against it, because I believe in evolution's antithesis ... instant creation.

Therefore, I don't have to know anything about evolution; and in fact, a child should be able to say evolution is wrong.

Nice to see you admit you value credibility over Truth.

A child could say that the capitol of the US is New York City -- we don't expect the child to know better.

Some people might hold you to a higher standard -- clearly, they should know better.

Actually, you know quite a bit about it, but you deliberately refer to and reuse arguments against it that you know are wrong and nonsensical.

If your goal is to convince people that evolution is wrong, doesn't it make sense to actually know what you're talking about? Or at least attempt to do so?

If I want to convince a Neo-Nazi that Nazism is wrong, I'm not going to tell them "Don't be a Nazi, because Nazis are communists like Stalin". Because that's wrong. And if the Neo-Nazi knows the slightest bit about history, he'll know it's wrong, and think "hah, that guy has no idea what he's talking about. People who are against Nazism are ignorant, so that's just more reason for me to be a Nazi".

It achieves the opposite effect of what you intend.

Even Occam's razor is on my side.

If I'm holding an apple in my hand and ten people come by and saying I'm holding ten different things (grape, orange, lemon, etc.) ... it's simple physics ... they're all wrong.

So evolution, SN1987A, ten different pangaeas, fifteen different ice ages, and everything else that evidences deep time can all do one thing:

Take a hike.

I agree, it's much easier to read the Bible and remain ignorant of such things,
there is no one happier in this world than an idiot sat in the corner grinning and sucking his thumb.

Apparently in AV's religion, it's a requirement.

there is no one happier in this world than an idiot sat in the corner grinning and sucking his thumb.

Ignorance is bliss, indeed.
