Why do Christians insist that we need some type of "objective" morals, when every indication from every society since recorded history suggests we make our own?

Without objectivity, there is no order.

I would describe my theistic position as ignostic.

Its easier to work backwards through you to get to the fundamental issue keeping you from God.

Abstract thinking was always my enemy and I never understood why until I realized I was using it for my own selfish understanding, rather than an applicable measure of altruism.

For example, some people say that murder is bad because they will go to jail.

Some people just know that murder is wrong, and if affects them severely to the point they are sad or upset about it.

They are also convicted by this as they have a reason to know its objectively wrong, because our creator forbids us from killing each other.

Yes, of course, its always wrong to break the law. lol, try it and see how it works.. We as Christians are instructed by God to serve others, following the law is usually not an issue, and its in good standing with the flow of society. We dont agree with the laws but we are forbidden from interfering or revolting or anything like that.. If we are to be executed for our beliefs, we must do so with no struggle.

Yes we call that the ecumenical gathering.
