Struggling with Masturbation

What makes masturbation so tough for someone to tackle is it's habitual nature. One gets "addicted" to it. But, believe it or not, by turning your life and will over to Jesus Christ, prayer, fasting, and regular confession, it can be conquered. Chastity can be quite sensationally pleasant as well. It's difficult to describe. It's an inner warmth created by knowing you're conforming to God's will. It's also a feeling of real freedom. The freedom to do right.

regular confession ? to whom .. this only causes callousness and indifference if we confess the same thing to a man without any change .it gives the false illusion that a man can forgive you ..but it is not the man you sin against ,it is God .
a man can forgive me if i sin against that man
but he cannot forgive me if i sin against God - only the lord Jesus can do that

I don't by this either. You are defining the word "chastity" in a Catholic way to suit your purposes. That doesn't make it so.

So what if you rub your own back because it itches or feels good--is your "integrity" lost to yourself....no. Masturbation is pleasurable (which you conceded) and it is sexual ie no harm,unless you want to declare human sexuality is somehow inherently sinful.

Whether human or animal, sexuality is carnal. Man created in the image of God is called to give up carnality to follow Jesus with agape love. For the weak, carnal love is permitted within a marriage.

As far as I am concerned, I am only trying to help him out of this vice since I was addicted to that for decades. Victory through only Jesus! Furthermore, both act and thought are sinful. That is NT for all of us.

Sounds like your problem is low self esteem. You are upset at yourself and turn to physical pleasure to make yourself feel better.

You are young. Start a plan to better yourself and think outside the box.

to the OP .. the truth is .. God loves you and both desires you be free and has made a way to enter into that freedom fully .

Pardon the graphic language, but it's always been recognized that masturbation constitutes sex with one's hand. The only argument for excluding it from God's prohibition against sexual activity outside of marriage seems to be that we've invented a word for it and that word isn't touched upon in scripture. Lots of sexual sins aren't named in scripture, but that's because God made it pretty blatant that your body is for your wife and non-wife sexual activity is categorically out.

You may not believe it, but it is true! I have seen a monkey masturbating and licking its sperm with its fingers subsequently. Consequently, it proves that the practice is a result of base instinct which an image of God should not indulge in!

i think in the end ..if there is no outward external godly benefit to any one else .. then it is simply self indulgence for purely self centered motive ..
. it does not align itself and has no harmony with the life the lord Jesus desires to live through us .

and for my life ..if i indulge in this act ..my conscience condemns me and it is therefore SIN.
and NO doctrinal opinion can outweigh a mans conscience

Now isn't that interesting. Seems like we have a biological phenomenon here folks. Lay off the unfounded condemnation;go looking for sin elsewhere.

beware the source.such studies can present any picture they desire to. and in law ,questioning 12 yr olds in regard to their sexual activity would an be extremely dubious practice,which immediately raises concerns as to the agenda behind releasing such a study result.

add to that the ridiculous suggestion on a christian forum ,that because a worldly ambiguous study says lots do it, that it somehow excuses it.
the same type of studies state similar stances on homosexuality.

we must draw a line.
if we are all honest..when you consider what the entire bible collectively states on matters of sexual immorality vs righteousness the only conclusion we can reach is that self indulgence of the flesh is Not to be pursued.
we must be more concerned with what God has to say on the topic.
and he states that the flesh is sinful and its desires are sinful and we should not serve those desires or they will become our master and the one you serve,,,to his end you will go.

Hence the phrase "pleasuring one's self."

That said, Im guilty as sin of this as well.
