I totally agree with your last statement about how God is in secular music than in most Christian music. I have been a Christian most of my life, I grew up with secular music in my home. My mother raised me on the Beatles, Beach Boys, and some other groups. One thing my parents always stressed to me was that I needed to listen not only with my ears but my heart. If I was to listen to something and it didn't make me feel right then I knew it wasn't right. When I got into my early teens I dedicated my life to playing the guitar. In my late teens and early 20's I played in a couple of different metals bands. When I joined my second band I made it clear that I have a standard of living and faith that I would continue and uphold. Sorry to get off subject, my point is that I love secular metal music! Bands like Megadeth, Killswitch Engage, Black Sabbath (including Ozzy's solo career) and other bands have made my faith stronger. I realized that there is evil in the world but it takes faith and the willingness to do the right things to live a blessed life. I have tried to like "Christian" metal, but something seems fake about it. I'm glad that we have Dave Mustaine, Alice Cooper, and Ozzy on our side. Yes I said Ozzy, not many people want to accept the fact that Ozzy is now a Christian. I have seen a documentary were he talks about his faith and it shows him locking himself in his dressing room and praying.
Yeah a lot of christians poop on ozzy. Or better yet you can look at head from korn. He left korn to deal with some of his own issues, then he became a christian and started with a new band called love and death, and now he is recording with korn in the studio while making christian music. Now the christian community is rebuking his christian music because he is also with korn.
