  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

...Do you even believe in Evolution in the first palce?

I see.

So miracles are only in one's head? is that what you're saying?

In a manner of speaking -- wouldn't a cell phone seem like a miracle to someone back in Biblical times?

(I suspect cabvet's going in a different direction with this than I am -- but that won't stop you from invariably conflating our responses in an attempt to sound clever)

How about if I post something like ontological reductionism, instead?

(Let me guess: That won't do it either, will it?)

Nope -- it just be a vain attempt to sound clever. And as usual -- a failed one.

No, I am saying it is only a miracle if you actually believe it happened.

That would actually be an attempt to explain while "God works in mysterious ways" is not. But the reductionist explanation would not be a good one, as an all powerful God would have no need to be limited to a certain number of "templates".

But I have a good explanation as for why whales were created first in Genesis. The text was written 3,000 years ago, and back then everyone though whales were fish, so it would be logical to assume that whales were created together with the other aquatic animals. But hey, that's just me and this is just logical...

So they would put cell phones before land animals too? is that your point?

Thank you, AV, for confirming what I said.

Guessed right ... didn't I? ;)

That's one of the many differences between us -- you guess, I deduce.

I think we're using two different working definitions of "miracle," and it's not going to let this conversation move forward.

Might as well just drop it, eh?
That would actually be an attempt to explain while "God works in mysterious ways" is not.
 ... Huh?
But the reductionist explanation would not be a good one, as an all powerful God would have no need to be limited to a certain number of "templates".
Ah, yes ... I keep forgetting: God didn't check with you guys first, before He issued His fiats in Genesis 1.
But I have a good explanation as for why whales were created first in Genesis. The text was written 3,000 years ago, and back then everyone though whales were fish, so it would be logical to assume that whales were created together with the other aquatic animals.
As opposed to this miracle happening 6000 years ago, with Adam not even in existence as yet to witness it?

If Adam didn't witness it, why would he write it?
But hey, that's just me and this is just logical...
Try theological instead ... or we may as well drop it.

(Unless you have some venting and/or ridicule to get off your chest.)

Satan can always use a Sherlock Holmes on his side, can't he?

God would have one if He wasn't already claimed by those who venerate ignorance.

But enough about me -- have you guessed yet why whales before land animals wouldn't be a miracle?

Nope, that is not it either. But that is a nice way to vent and ridicule, so by all means get it off your chest.

Wasn't it God who wrote it?

Dropping it. All I ask is that you don't say things like "scientific evidence indicates that whales came before other mammals".

I assume because it happens every day, right?

A whale is born ... later a land animal is born, etc.

Don't you just love ad hominem? I would suspect so, since you use it in almost every response. You still didn't answer my initial question. How many of the experiments have you reproduced in a laboratory on your own merit (especifically w.r.t evolution). Or, are you just believing what these scientists have to say, without being able to substantially prove it yourself?

Like I have told you (and several others on this forum,) I can reproduce and understand the science behind the majority of theories presented. In fact, it was my job to reproduce several of them before I began my own research. I

Firstly, don't pigeonhole me as a creationist. A person's beliefs are as dynamic as the earth itself. Secondly, I can repeat their experiments, and I have - as well as people I know who are engineers and scientists alike. Most independent researchers DO show their results, but they never see the light of day because of politics in the scientific community. To go against the presented scientific status quo can warrant penalties anywhere from ridicule to scholarly articles pulled, to termination. I have been witness to it.

Now, back to the original question: how many scientific laboratory experiments have you conducted in your life, specifically w.r.t evolution? Or, do you just take scientists at their face-value?

If you have doubts about the findings that support the theory of evolution, then feel free to read the literature and examine the data for yourself. No one is hiding anything. You can "prove it to yourself".

In China, almost everyone don't doubt about them, also, almost everyone think it is a perfect theory ! so, if you have the spirit of seeking truth and want to make friends with man who know the real truth, you need not to argue with others for preaching this theory.just come to China, I am sure you will know how many people benefit from this theory! It is really a shame to verify miracles. I highly believe you can see a big miracle in China where few people believe in God.

in China and Russia it seems Evolutionism preceded Communism - twinc

Given "evolutionism" is a stupid buzzword that doesn't refer to anything real I'd say you're just blowing smoke.

and you are blowing another smoke screen as a cover up for evolutionism and it many other cover ups, fakes, frauds, cons and discriminations etc - twinc

What cover ups? Every fraud that has ever existed regarding evolution has been exposed and denounced -- by other evolutionists.

What have you done lately?
