Is there any reason to believe that there are secret codes embedded in the Bible?

I thought you were going to say that.

Ok, so from now on I'm not going to say that there's a pre-trib rapture or there isnt. The skip codes came up with a rapture on tishri, which is oct-sept. I dont know the year, but i am keeping that month date in mind.

Also, wormwood is heading this way. I knew there was a big comet coming, and that it would show up this november, that was on the skip codes as well, for the month of 'cheshvan' which is november.

it seems that revelation was true after all and i was wrong. oops.

anyone whos interested can check out the vids by codesearcher on youtube.

My question wasn't meant to be rhetorical. I really do want to hear the rationale behind trying to find secret, embedded codes in the Bible. When it has long been established that we can take any text and using various algorithms find various "codes" embedded in the text (classic example being Moby Dick) then shouldn't we at the very least be skeptical of the whole notion of "Bible codes" in the first place?

It just seems that it's a bizarre and unjustified method of approaching Scripture. Instead of allowing Scripture to be honest and open in what it is saying, trying to find messages "between the lines" ultimately just means finding anything and potentially everything imaginable. Applying various code-finding algorithms we could take any sufficiently long text and do the same. Whether we use the Bible, Moby Dick, or the Annals of Tacitus.

i don't really understand the hardcore sceptics mind-set, (i'm a Libra) those who don't bother to examine the evidence.. I am not a natural sceptic, but it takes me a while to know (or work out) a liar or a scam, some people have much better discernment. I have been fooled by liars in the past.. but I tend not to dismiss stuff until I've examined the evidence.

what I have come to realise of late, is that we live in our own paradigm. and there's nothing can be done about that. not in the short term anyway.

what you do, is put in a starting word or phrase, and then check other words one by one to see if anything comes up. the equidistant skips are relevant if they cross over or closely align with the starting word.

I found it interesting that codesearcher did a table on the pope, before the election, and his bet was on peter turkson, which was there, along with other candidates, and info such as Jesuit. after the election he did another check and the name of the pope came up along the line of the starting word; on top of it, along with his other names, so the skip codes have limited predictive potential, as regards predicting the next pope.

the two witnesses which I dismissed as revelation gibberish, were confirmed in the code to be Elijah and Enoch; they really do show up.

i'd like to get some more info on stuff that interests me, so I hope to contact codesearcher, as I cant do the Hebrew; he's learnt a lot of that, to work the codes out.

I had the Torah Codes program. It is bunkum.

Firstly, there are no explicit vowels in Hebrew. They have to be read into the text. So how do you spell foreign nouns in Hebrew? Different vowels yield different words.

Secondly, there are some consonant sounds that can be made with different Hebrew letters.

Thirdly, the ELS interval can be set from two to thousand of letters apart. Which intervals are significant? Do 'prophecies' made using the Codes all use the same intervals? No.

Fourthly, the beginning and ending letters are completely abritrary, as are the decisions to make separations between letters to form words. Purely subjective.

In short, the Codes will say what you want them to say.

there's a program which converts English into Hebrew, then you wack in the Hebrew conversion.
I heard that people were working out these things before computers and it took them forever.

Here it is.
