  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I can imagine Theistic Evolutionists getting a ride back in time ... compliments of the One reigning on the throne during the Millennial Reign ... and actually seeing God speak the universe into existence; and hanging their heads in shame at all the time they wasted because they thought it went down differently.

And why would they hang their heads in shame? When one does the absolute best they can with the data at hand they are doing the best they can.

If there was a "magical" beginning to everything and we have no real evidence of such a thing then why would anyone be ashamed to not have believed in something totally free of evidence or reason?

And lest you say the Bible is evidence, need I remind you that perhaps you will hang your head in shame when you are taught at the end of time how the earth formed from the shards of duck egg and the first man, Väinämöinen, is born of the goddess Ilmatar and he brings trees and life to a barren world!

Then, oh mortal, then you will be shamed for not having heeded the words of the Kalevala.

(HINT: I hope you got the point of that. But I'm betting not.)

That didn't work out so well for Job. God doesn't feel the need to explain anything to puny little humans.
You might want to read the end of that book ... you just might be surprised; but as you said, I'm betting not.

Nah, I think they'll be shuddering and trying not to think of us unbelievers screaming. (That'll be sure to put an dampener on eternal blissful service to the most high.)

I am certain that Illúvatar and the Valar (aside from Melkor) will be most forgiving.

I'm sure that if it were possible to go back in time (and it's not) that all you'd experience is what you can see, hear, taste, touch and smell and that would only be indicative of something in the physical world happening. Neither would you see nor experience any creator in any manifestation for the same reason that you don't see, hear, taste, touch or smell said creator here and now.

Not that he doesn't exists, but that he doesn't leave evidence of his existence so we'd have to take weather or not he does on Faith. So all you'd see is abiogenesis, evolution and natural selection... it'd be very disappointing for any theist.

Uh-huh.

Nothing brings out the imagination of an Internet scientist more than a Christian ... does it?

Wanna hear a Ph.D. start rambling his favorite bedtime story? quote Genesis 1 with authority.

I said the One reigning on the throne during the Millennial Kingdom ... that would be Jesus Christ.

No point to get. You can not compare the Bible to ancient books written at the time the Bible was written any more then you can compare a modern biology book to a comic book.

3500 years ago the Bible gave a clear warning to stay away from the false gods and temple goddess and the Bible still gives the same message today. To bad you miss the message of the Bible. There are some people that are of the opinion that some of the oldest temples of the world employed the oldest profession.

Which version? I'm sorry but you talk like there's only one.

So I'll ask: do you believe all that? if not, okay if I don't believe it either?
I hope no one brings any fire in here with all of these straw man arguments. How many times have we told them that we do not believe what they do not believe also.

There is only one origional version. Look up strongs on the internet, that way you can read the Bible in the original and skip over the word that were added in the translations. Strongs is not really so much a version though as it is a dictionary.

We appreciate all your hard work to collect all those fossils. You do know that Creationism better explains those fossils then Evolution.

As I said earlier, nothing brings out their favorite bedtime stories like a Christian quoting Genesis 1 with authority.

I've heard more George Lucas, J.R. Tolkien, and miscellaneous mythology come from Internet scientists, than any other source ... including the television.

My favorite is the orbiting teapot; everything else is ... well ... secondary.

So the Tabernacle in the Wilderness was made of the skin of sea cows?

I got a song I could sing them along with their bed time story.

Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun

Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain

Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one

Very similar to Proverbs 7.

Where do you get that from?
Exodus 36:19 And he made a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering of badgers' skins above that.

#8476 in Wrong's Concordance.

Actually, its "dolphin" ... not sea cow.

My bad.
