Taxes are neither the Problem nor the Solution.

The Problem lays is the Irresponsible and Wasteful uses of Taxes that put us into this state we are in. Cutting Taxes aren't going to solve it. Adding more Taxes probably isn't going to solve it either but it would make the burden more manageable. But no one wants to Pile on any more Taxes. What we DO want is to take all the greedy hands out of our Piggy Bank long enough to put that money into Proper investments that show more return rather then continue throwing money into the Toilet.

Countries Function on both Taxes and Federal Income. Since NO government can function on Federal Income alone, Taxes are a Necessary "Evil." The Bigger the Country Grows, the Bigger the Government Grows and the Bigger the Government, the more income the country requires to Function. IF you don't want a Big Government, Find yourself a Smaller Country to live in. But we only have our own progenitor's concept of Manifest Destiny to blame for the size of our Government. Our Forefather's envisioned a much smaller nation when they had the idea for Small government. But Our Greed and Hubris made that idea impossible before the ink on the Constitution was even dry.

I can't argue with this.

Hate to be a bearer of bad news but this isn't the end.

First off, many of those people in the 47% are not going to admit that they are part of the 47%, so some of them will vote for Romney anyway.

Also this is September 17, not October 17. There's still seven weeks in the election for them to etch-a-sketch this out. So who knows what will happen in the next seven weeks.

Third, we should wait to see how polls do following this gaffe. I have a weird feeling they won't budge.

Those would probably be the same ones who rant and rave just as loud against the "Bums" of this country while sitting in their recliners, eating their Foodstamp Nachos and waiting for their unemployment check, without realizing that Romney was talking about THEM!

The idea is that Early Voting has started in some States today. And Most independents aren't going to sit around waiting to see how he manages to spin this. Anyone on the edge of their seats awaiting this latest "etch-a-sketch" aren't doing so because they have faith in him. They're doing it for the same reason people watch NASCAR.....

Third, we should wait to see how polls do following this gaffe. I have a weird feeling they won't budge.
It'll take a Miracle....... One that no God I can name will Grant him.

You're probably right. Once they seen the tape they were probably all jumping out their chairs claiming agreement without realizing, and I'm pretty sure Romney didn't even realize either, he was talking about them.

I've got a question. How much "work" is actually being covered for these "leeches." I mean, Romney apparently believes that 6 individuals of the "hard working" type like himself can do the work of 42% of those people, so to cover the 5% would take what, 7 or 8? What's the problem if only 8 people are needed to make up the work?

In case anyone is interested in FACTS:

here-are-the-47-of-the-population-who-dont-pay-federal-income-tax.jpg

That would make Romney's comments misleading.

Federal income taxes are one of only a few progressive taxes in the system where as payroll, state and local taxes, Medicare, unemployment and sales taxes are regressive.

All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them...

"I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

-Romney

What a crock. If people don't make enough money to be liable for income taxation than they must not take personal responsibility or care for their life? Doesn't he realize that most people would like to make more money but they can't find a way to do it? It's not like they are staying poor because they don't like paying taxes. Heck if he thinks it's so awesome he can join them. Give away all his money and he wont have to pay taxes just like all the other poor people.

I don't think Romney can imagine living off of an income low enough to not pay federal income taxes and still be supporting yourself.

It's not like it is something he has ever had to do.

Mitt Romney: 47% of American's Pay no Income Taxes - YouTube

Romney stated that he knows his message on reducing taxes is not likely to be attractive to those who do not pay income taxes.

Romney asked if the person who released the snippets of his response in the video tape also release the question asked of him and his full answer.

It was refreshing to actually have a press conference where the media can have a question and answer session. Remember those? Something we have not had with the dictator in quite some time.

Though the 'media' will fall all over themselves to attack Romney in order to obscure the fact that Obama is a completely failed administration.

Revenues are used to pay expenditures. Cut taxes and less money comes in.

But you didn't say "less money came in". You said that tax cuts add to the debt.

You asked for examples. I gave them.

But you didn't give examples to back up the claim we were discussing.

I asked you for examples to back up your claim that Obama showed solidarity or support, or at least, sympathy, with the wealthy. You then went on to talk about campaign finance issues.

You posted something completely unrelated and are now insisting that it's what we were talking about because you know you said something you can't back up.

And for that reason, I'm invoking the Bible's exhortation not to argue with a certain kind of person according to their own folly and dropping out of this conversation with you.

Yes he did tell the truth. And his comment about not worrying about that particular 47% spoke to how they would vote, not that he wouldn't care or do anything in their behalf if elected.

And he is correct. Millions will vote for Obama regardless of how bad things get in this country. Even if they went from having a two hundred K job and a nice house in 2008 to being homeless by 2012, they would still vote for him simply because it is him.

Can you prove that 47% do not pay "taxes" and all will vote for Obama?

Exactly.

Out here in middle America, try being a single parent who works all their life for an hourly wage... it's not difficult to not pay any federal income tax because of the tax credits.

There are plenty of voter out there working for a living, and seeing the failure and harm that Obama is doing, yet not paying income tax... too bad Romney doesn't want to work for those votes.
